Please note: this post is meant for the 5% of server owners who are being dicks, not the 95% who are awesome. Kicking of Players for Clan members: This has been requested. While we do want to have some "reserved slots" this effectively requires either a lot of scripting or changes to the base game code. It is something that is being worked on but it is not finished Originally we trialed allowing servers to kick out players who had either donated money or were clan members of the owner, to allow space for someone else. Abuse of this became RAMPANT. Server owners need to start wising up. We are only processing about 20 to 30% of server requests for hosting due to the massive volume of offers. The clan servers need to realize they cannot just do whatever they feel like because their actions affect the rest of the game and the servers. Think about it, if we let server owners do this, what is stopping them from kicking someone who just killed them? What is to stop them kicking people for arbitrary reasons? Who polices this? The policy is in place because it makes sense. We've been pretty lenient so far, but it is causing us a lot of work to deal with these people being difficult and it has delayed development. Please try and think how hard our job is to balance everything, and realize that if your clan/group is asking for exceptions then there are hundreds of other people probably asking too. Also realize that we have been burned several times, resulting in the need for costly and time consuming backups to be restored. The current rules weren't picked out of nowhere, we know they aren't perfect. We're just trying to make the best of the situation and keep things going. In short, their are only two reasons why you, as a server owner, should ban a player on your server. Those two reasons are: Malicious talk, and racism. You may not ban a user for stealing your loot, killing you, spying on you, etc.

Well there IS some truth to the concerns, my intention here is to outline that we did consider the impact this would have - and we made the call that the benefit from doing this was more than the loss. Time will tell if this is a good or bad decision. The opportunity to discuss DayZ with pretty much the entire "who's who" of the video gaming industry over the last month, from my perspective, is valuable beyond measure from a design standpoint.

As the title said, the Bandit/Survivor morphing will be removed. You will find skins around the world, that you can wear if you choose. Humanity will be retained for an undisclosed purpose. Because humanity is the feature DayZ deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll remove bandit transitions, because its not helping. Because its not a good feature. Humanity remains as a silent guardian, watchful protector. An ... unfinished feature. Please abuse/fanboy below so I can feast on your delicious tears...

Shit is gettin serious. If this was made as a stand alone game, or as part of some particular existing game, what kind of consumer model would you want to play it on? How would you rather pay for it? - Game purchase with Monthly fee? (WoW stylez) - Game purchase only? (Guild Wars stylez) - Free to play, buy your shit? - Something else? Also: - Community developed or studio developed? - Community or studio servers? or both? - Kickstarter? or not? Please try and stick to short sentences, its much easier for me to get broad feedback.

Good news, but I'm still reluctant to say it is gone. There was a post before saying it was still there. I need lots of feedback on this before I can confirm it, and we'll post on twitter. SU won't go live for a few hours at least to give server hosting companies time to update.

No change from the last hotfix (not using new commands). Helps BIS to test the newer beta's though. 1.7.3 will require a new better so you can use the .....

Any feedback on graphical glitches being gone or not would be very greatly appreciated. If we can confirm they are gone I will announce the update on twitter and we will release on SU.

Can people please confirm if this is the case for them? Be SURE you updated ALL YOUR FILES. This is very important. The closed test indicated that nobody who was experiencing graphical glitches before was with this update, so if that is not the case I need to know ASAP.

Note I missed mentioning dayz_sfx is also updated. It is best to redownload all files or use six. Six will only go live when some servers are online. Server hosters need hive 0.7.3

Okay, so I am preempting this. The temperature implementation is brand spanking new. Balancing is really hard to do. It is just the genesis of an idea at the moment. So please, bear with me here. - Temperature goes down WAAAAY too fast in bad weather - It is too easy to catch an infection - Firewood isn't spawning enough Please keep the discussion here, I realize it is going to be fucked up but it isn't going to kill you. It will just make you cough. A hotfix will be released as soon as we have gathered enough data. LET THE DELICIOUS TEARS FLOW....
