    there are 2 ways of improving mod atm: 1) increasing difficulty to make it reasonable to cooperate since it will be extremelly hard to survive alone. 2) including some cti features would not hurt the mod. or implementing both. cti features in dayz concept doesn't force you to do any objectives/clear towns but add more possibilities for you and your mates when you bunched up.

    guys go play default arma first and then moan about changing game mechanics. dayz is not a MOD/conversion/separate game as you may think/imagine. it's the same arma with all same mechanics but with spawning zombies and characters database. even it's called mod in fact thats just an addon technicaly, which use bits of ace mod aswell as dynamic zombie sandbox addon. increasing health of specific characters is possible but it would not be realistic. in other words: get used to.

    Make the game harder

    my point is: if the enviroment is really unforgiving, zombies are extremely dangerous and can be killed only with headshot or alot of shots, if there are such things as infections after zombie bite you once or you got shot, if you can starve, freeze and so on, you would glad to see another survivor, because it will be more easy to survive. the only reason why you will kill him is urge need in order to survive. not because you got bored. Let's take humankind for example. We have no claws, no fangs, no fur, no great strenght, we can't see in the dark, we can't run too fast to excape some shit, we can't eat raw meat, we are very vulnerable and mother nature is quite dangerous around us, wolfes, bears any kind of shit, and still we survived as specie and become dominant. why? because all this nightmare and our weakness forced us to group up and socialize in order to survive. we don't live one by one like other animals, because we simply would not survive like that. so thats it.

    you clearly never played arma before, but i do agree with you that the game should become harder. if it will be extremelly hard to survive there will be less killing and killing will be actually reasonable to survive, not just because you are got bored.

    support this, tho some kind of group system should be implemented aswell what is possible in domination/evolution/insurgency at default arma, thohere it should be implememnted as you interact with palyer and join his team, also knowing your experience, aswell as the fact that your insurgency mission become best mission of 2010, i guess this is pretty much possible since you say so.

    so you are gonna stand that using AT weapons agains infantry is normal? dayz is not a mod as you probably see it (i.e. garrysmod/day of defeat and such). this is slight modification for arma' date=' which doesn't really change much except adding zombies and save info about your char. if you want more enterable buildings vote for new map for dayz mode, for example lingor island. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=483&highlight=lingor because it's rather easy to change whole settings for spawning loot inside buildings instead of remaking whole cherno map. good luck with that
  11. confronting enemy infantry ai isn't that risky as you probably imagine, especially with vanilla arma ai (means not modded)

    Flashlight + pistol symbiosis

    i belive it's pretty much possible to have a flashlight in hands as you got flares or chemlights atm, btw ArmA OA ( your default operation arrowhead without mods) which you guys don't even play, got weapons with flashlight and even lasers attached. not sure about pistols, but ACE mod surely got usp with flashlight.
  14. to get the idea what kind of situation awarnes arma ai got, play around in editor with units and waypoints. idk if there is nomnomnom state of zombies behaviour, but i don't really care.

    1. horrible idea. 2. horrible idea aswell. this is arma, not l4d or any your casual fps that forgive everything just for the sake of making game simple to jump in and play. 3. "I do like the fact that the spawn points are random, but just to the beach?" because if it will spawn you random you will entirely get lost. thats rather simple to find out where are you at at the seaside, especially if you got old dusty chernorussia map that you printed 3 years ago and never really used. 4. horrible idea aswell this is not insurgency type of mission and there is no squads. 5. doesn't really matter

[Gameplay implications] more vehicles and less parts sounds fine by me. ____________________________________________ [[Guns]] - More small weapons, less military hardware. Assuming the ladder issue gets fixed, handguns should be the most common weapons. Civilians have far greater access to handguns than anything else, we don't have any great access to handguns in russia, so thats pretty realistic to have more hunting rifles and military stuff if you are living next/at military town, what is quite common stuff around here. ____________________________________________ [[Wounds]] will be absolutely great to have ace wounds system with all medical supplies it got. but if no, then default med module is better then nothing.

    ofp2001/arma/arma2 is build as milsim with huge scale' date=' means shitload of tanks, aircrafts, helicopters, light armored vehicles and cars present in one battle in same time. i'm talking about 100 vs 100 servers for example, like serious games tushino. Or PvEvP scenarios like warfare (caprure the island) scale is the keyword. you don't really care how enterable houses are when you are in the middle of hell where you are getting shot from everywhere and suppresed by heavy armored vehicles and 3-7 helicopters over your head and commander of your squad yell to move to complete objective, unless this building can provide nice positions to open fire, like rooftops etc. Unless you want to stay in house and get blowed up & buried there alive, since everything is destructable in arma games arma works different and there is no customizeable loadouts in arma 2. it will present in arma 3 tho. rpg is anti tank weapon and it meant to peneterate armor. this is not artillery hight explosive rounds that cause damage over area of explosion and fragments' date=' shooting infantry with AT rounds is absolutely retarded and inefficient waste of round, since it will cause damage only if you hit targer or very close to target, because of it's principal of operation and thats SHAPED CHARGE also there is such thing as backblast, (in ace mo tho) so using AT weapons in close quarters or back to wall will simply kill you, but hey, you want BIG GUNS! EXPLOSIONS! BAM! AND YOU ARE ALL DEAD NOOBS! and all kind of stuff that you got used at common FPS, even tho it have nothing in common with reality. Yeah, there were rare cases when AT weapons were used against infantry but thats extremelly uncommon. this mod isn't any major conversion of arma. in fact it don't use even a quarter of features arma actually got and what used in other game modes' date=' mods i.e. domination/evolution & ACE2 mod, or even roleplay gamemodes (which i dislike as i dayz, no offence here i play dayz when my fav server is full) but hey, it aimed for hardcore realism, not zombies gameplay what seems to be overrated these days, even tho there were zombie mods before for arma 2 and even for arma 1. Not saying that dayz is bad or someth, but rather dissapointing that people don't want to find out what arma is all about and how huge and awesome it is, while they limitate their experience playing as infantry only with couple of weapons that were took from huge arma 2 weapons arsenal. not even mentioning ACE2 arsenal, since it's ridiculously enormous with any kind of weapons/explosives/ammunition/tools/radios and such on. and from what i read here in your entire thread you clearly never played ofp2001/arma series. get hang of arma and you will see what this game is really capable of, and what possibilities for modding it got. may be after that you will see how does it works and what kind of features it can/can't have. and yeah, as i said already it use arma files and models for weapons, players, npc MOSTLY. and thats a tiny byte of what is actually game have. QTF also for old arma fans thats more like a bone in a throat as these old rpg servers, or may be i'm purist and snob that got used to play arma as milsim. again, i don't mind dayz/any other fun mods for arma, i'm just pissed off a bit that people don't want to understand game mechanics and sometimes suggest things which aren't relevant/possible with current game.
