    Desync - The Worst Problem?

    no the worst problem from my view is either sound bug, or being able to see through walls, glitching. i hope and expect to see these problems resolved in future as well as the desync
  3. hello i want to add some new post patch zombie feedback. zombies have been hitting from far away and through walls with increased regularity, compared to previously common example : a zombie see me from a distance or closer, run towards me, i will go around a wall or into a building to fight it in cover, zombie will stop outside and i will start to take hits, sometimes zombie will stop quite far from wall and i might be upstairs so its quite a distance, maybe 15 meters at most, i then have to go back to zombie and hit it and it will follow me again, or sometimes it will "see me" when i approach it and follow me again. of course zombie hit from outside wall or from downstairs is not new issue, although the distance that the hits are coming from seems greater than it has been in my experience,

  5. it is how i play all the time. it is also how many other people play, there is not often any reason to run in this game, if you want to survive.

    i am confident that what the game designers choose to do with the map will be good, were all playing the game, we all must rate it thats why were here. i think that discussion and constructive criticism is good, i also think that we can believe that this team are not going to try to make the game worse for the people who have supported it up to now, by making any stupid design choices, for me i knew just from playing the map, since a long time ago, that the map was heading for an east to west vibe, and for now thats what were getting, when i see this news definite about ne airport will be civilian, i just think "ok thats what it will be" i dont think oh thats bad design choice or good design choice, i just think ok, that willbe the game they are desgning, maybe im not explaining what i mean well, but i think sometimes we can just let the team make the game, not demand what we want, even if this topic is not demanding something, the title comes across that way. like " we know whats best" but we dont know every single thing they plan or idea about, so everything does not always make sense to the player in testing. we just play-test what they put out in update

  10. irl i like going beach casting (sea fishing from beach) to catch bass at night(day works too) and it woudl be amazing to be able to do it in dayz. try and catch a 3 lb bass , or maybe catch nothing, which would be more realistic. you need a 12' beach caster and a fixed spool reel, and tackle, and rag worm, which you can dig on beach or coastal area. prob never goan happen, i just dont like fresh water fishing, and chenarus does have a lot of beach.. :) i bet rify would be a good spot does the tide actually go in and out on dayz? i dotn think it does, does it? never actually paid attention, but that would be another suggestion in itself.

    sea fishing (beach casting)

    just noticed in the changelog http://steamcommunity.com/games/221100/announcements/detail/1388547564033640511 it says Actions : You can go fishing (ponds and lakes for this moment) so maybe we will be able to do sea fishing in future, wonder if they read this topic? i just hope they let us try to catch sea bass with 10lb bass being super rare and also good/bad spots to fish

    Regarding the melee system

    i usually carry machette for its smaller size or combat knife or bayonet. but its a trade off for less visibility with smaller weapon. im sure others do the same. sometimes can still 1 hit kill zombie with these weapons, usualy if from behind unseen. i do miss the lethality of the fire axe at times, when a zombie is giving away position and im in the shit or whatever, while i always know im less visible when im trying to move. what youve talked about in op is good. it would be great to see more versatility with the melee system, and it would be good to see other weapons have more power apart from fire axe. i think bigger visible weapons having more melee power is a reasonable balance mechanic, as well as realistic, i think the massive fire axe would wreck a body with 1 accurate swing more than any of the other weapons we have, i want to carry green and black sprayed crowbar and pipe wrench , im unable to really use the crowbar effectively in its current state, i could use it quite well in a previous patch a while back.

  15. i think all clothing and foot wear types should offer different levels of protection and maneuverability, i do expect that this will arrive in game too, although i havent seen anything about it myself. im not 100% about athletic or casual shoe wearing out faster in woods etc, but i agree with your general idea of different properties sure
  16. being able to kill your character just by clicking"suicide", will destroy a lot of aspects of game play for the finished game. i do get that maybe in testing it could be added, although i wouldnt want or need use it. what about a button that pushed you out of glitches or something? that might be better, i think some games from before i started pc gaming had soem code you could type in for when you got glitched or stuck in the map, didnt they?

    if youre looking for insight, why dont you just ask for insight instead of stating negative comments about the community, stating that there has been no progress, and stating that you think the devs will abandon dayz. i think you made a lot of thoughtless generalizations, just a negative , useless topic really in my view
  19. in 3rd person, you can lie on a higher area, and see anyone below you, while they cant see you. in 3rd person, you can stand behind walls and see over them in 3rd person, you can look around corners, up stair wells, and anywhere else you want to look, all while facing the other direction from an impossible angle in 1st person, you only see what you should be able to see from that characters position, increase fov and use alt view for a more realistic viewpoint it is a bit disappointing that so few people play 1st person servers, although of course its up to them what they choose, people just enjoy what they enjoy/

    dayz already is a "horror" game, if you want to label it, and it is also other things too, theres no need to try and put a label on something so open, or to narrow the vision. just enjoy playing it for what it is./

    with the current system we recover from injury only when healthy as far as i can understand. i think the sprint speed will be adjusted as game develops, and i would agree that being healthy should increase stamina and resistance to illness. we will have to see how the sickness works in game when its added better. it shouldnt be as fast a process as it is to get healthy, i imagine that it will be slowed down during development. in my view persistent storage is the worst thing that could possibly (will) be added in standalone, and it goes against the whole point of the game. thats another topic anyway. i agree with what you said, all makes sense .

    just because you will suicide to faster meet someone on other side of map, doesnt mean other player will. some people do value characters life, increase skills over lifetime is a horrible idea, like any other artificial mechanic that could be introduced. if you find staying alive boring, try moving through a town on a busy server, edit wow just realised thsi topic is from feb.

    We need a char reset!

    i dotn think thats true, i cross all over the map, and i think many other players do too, i wouldnt mind if my character gets reset at every update tho, if everyone elses did too, during testing. something to do, just get equipped again while moving around, although i guess many people wouldnt like it.
