  1. i imagine shotguns would be more common than handguns and rifles, in this rural farm land. in battlefield games i dont use shotguns ever , but in this game it makes sense, that they woudl be more common, and i never relax until i have a sawn off shotgun in my rucksack, for those crazy moments, and close quarters exploration. just basic, standard types, that farmers might own, would be fine with me, although why not have 1 or 2 type of military grades, since m4 is in game already, in the "appropriate" places.

    Blunt/Bayonet firearm attacks

    yes, it would be good to be able to hit an enemy with the butstock of a rifle, or a bayonet, (they hopefully will add using a bayonet at some point, since they're in game already) as well as being realistic, with a chance to knock down the enemy, it would give time to switch to melee weapon

  4. @op, what is realistic about recognizing someone from 2 meters away? i can recognise people from much further away irl. as can most people with normal eyesight. 2 meter recognize is unrealistic. text showing up in the game by a player is also unrealistic, dean hall gave a presentation a couple of days ago i watched on twitch tv, im sure something was mentioned about armbands. i thought that sounded like an ok solution. i think any text on screen is an immersion breaker, personally.

    i think its a really bad idea, because irl you would not know if someone was hostile, you coudl ask them, and they coudl lie, just as they can in the game. soem of my best moments have been meeting someone, and then getting away from them without either of us firing a shot, not turning away until i have reached a safe enough point. i think what you suggest is too much of an arcade feature, it takes away the need to communicate, takes away the tension, takes away the danger, the immersion, etc etc. yeah it takes away almost everything i play the game for

  7. ah yeah, what you said about sunglasses would be good aswell, also i guess that woudl apply with tinted helmet visor, etc. cool.

I have been unable to join this server for 2 days, it seems stuck on 10:20am, and 40/40 players in my favourites and when it occasionally shows in server is its 0/40 but it just says waiting for host when i try to join. Recently im having increased trouble getting in the servers ive been joining most reguarly, it seems.
  9. try to make a post to try and make people think about joining 1st person servers, ends up getting closed because loads of people start turning it into a 3rd person vs first person argument. if you dotn wana play 1st person, why even post on the topic? why do you feel the need to defensively state that third is just as hard as first, or whatever else, thats not the issue i was raising, the issue was that 1st person servers(hardcore servers atm) are extremely quiet, at most times. forget these childish forums, im gona quit while im ahead!
  10. id love to see more people playing on the first person only servers, i cant believe so many prefer 3rd person, i feel that 3rd person is missing the point of this game, using alt and seing any impossible angle, etc. im even reading people saying they get motion sickness??? unbeleivable please, more players, try the hardcore servers, its so much more simulator, so much less arcade game with super vision
  11. the title of the thread is need more players to join 1st person servers, not "hardcore" servers, the 1st person servers are the hardcore titled servers for the moment. if you are moving in buildings, and are having difficulty, like one player described in this thread, its because he was having problems with his situational awareness. also you mention not able to spot people? what? first person/simulator gamers will not be having these kinds of problems i am a first person/simulator gamer only, and it would be nice to see more people checking out the servers, instead of seeing them all with 5 people in. it sounds like 1st person is not for you, just enjoy your game, hopefully more players will become aware of how cool 1st person is, and we can enjoy our game with more players in 1st person hardcore server.

    Tell us why we died

    if you see what kills you, you know, if you don't see what kills you , you dont know. its so basic , as i understand it, magically knowing what killed you, when you are already dead? you think that increases inmersion? i would be dissapointed if they started showing messages that explain what killed you, i really hope that it doesnt happen.
  13. i think that the supermarket being the same in every town that has them is a bit boring, and i wonder if it would be possible to have some different aspects to them. if not add another similar but new supermarket design, which would be nice, then a more basic solutioncould be to reverse the structure of the supermarket model in some of the towns, even just 1 or 2 towns. it might only require a small amount of changing to the surrounding area, if any, while it could help to remove the repetivive feeling. i guess the same thing could be said for some other buildings but the shop is what i think is most important. in general i think the towns are really cool

  15. i definetely didnt ask what playslye you used, i didnt say it was a military sim, didnt say it was arma, didnt say 1st person couldnt be abused, i did suggest motion sickness gives people head bob, so i dont know why youre telling that back to me. i didnt need to use teh search option as i was making a new request to try and rouse new players interests in 1st person, instead of being put off, and i have not suggested that 3rd person is a bad thing, i simply want more players to try 1st person, to get more activity in the hardcore servers. the topic title is need more players on 1st person servers, there is a massive lack of players realisng the potential of the immersion/simulation
  16. another thread asking for more people to explore the more realistic side of this game, maybe. does that offend you? as someone above said, the view is almost the same in 3rd person, just with a character on the screen, so why the addition of a character stops sickness, i dotn get it. the posts ive been reading seem to make out that just this game, or this engine causes the motion sickness, thats why i asked the guy if he had the experience with other fps', cause i cant see how just this game would cause problems and other fps wouldnt, maybe soem people cant handle the head bob, but they can disable that, if they cant handle it. maybe it goes to show how realistic this game feels in fp. comparing my question to how do peopel get cancer isnt very well thought out i think, but its all good. the post is just trying to say, hey if you really liek the immersive experience, play 1st person, on hardcore servers, they need more players(!) while also expressing my confusion about the high volume of motion sickness complaints ive read here moving around is not difficult in first person,. but it does require more situational awareness, in other games it doesnt matter, but this engine actually has your character in the game, so if your body with the kit wouldnt fit through at an awkward angle, it doesnt in game either, sure its not perfect , but all fps are a bit glitchy anyway. maybe you already know everything i just typed. playing in fp this is such an immersive and rewarding game, for a noob it might be at first confusing and out of comfort zone, but soon that will pass. if i have convinced 1 more player to start joining the first person servers, its 1 more person to play with/against :) the servers really are too qiuet! which is why i posted this topic. not because of the motion sickness thing.
  17. well i shoudl say i made thsi topic because its hard to find active hardcore servers a lot of time late at night, not because i want to hate on people who get motion sickness but after seaching forums it seems a lot of peopel use the reason that they cant play 1st person because they get motion sickness, i know everyones different, but i cant relate to that, and i fidn it suprising how much it comes up, i just feel " havent you ever seen a fps before?" how about you ig rage, do you get motion sickness in 1st person? do you from other fps games? do you play 3rd person? do you enjoy looking around the impossible angles?

    reverse supermarket model?

    yeah guys you going a bit off topic to be honest, of course everyone woudl want new buildings. the point of this thread is just to suggest actually reversing some of the supermarket models, in the towns where it woudlnt look wrong, to add some variation, with minimal programming required. not a complete redesign or any new structure, just a mirror image of the original model .

    im not suggesting it because i like the look of it, i just feel its a good enough way to simulate the distraction of having to reload. its about taking both your hands out of the game, making you look at your gun, like in real life, you can do it fast, and you arrange your ammo in an easy to access spot like you would in real life, when i 1st started playing i thought it was how you had to reload, and i thought it was a good way to do it.

  22. this is something that should definately be in the game, for clothing and bags, even as far as half size slots for back pockets of jeans, that would only fit small items in them, painkillers, can opener, etc,

    so noone thinks having to press tab, then drag and drop ammo woudl be enough ? i think this is fine, because it takes both hands and it puts you out of the game for a sec, while you are checking inventory and then dragging the ammo, realistic enough for the game, in my view remove r for reload, woudl be great

    i did try to search about this topic before i created post, i just wanted to offer the idea of reversed models because it might be a lot less time consuming and would still feel good enough in game, at least for now.
