thats refreshing to see! someone knows what i mean, i thought all hope was lost ( i hope i understood you right and u agree with me haha)
-
you said that they have to sacrifice realism in games, and gave player respawn as an example, so i ask whats more important, players respawning, or items persisting. the obvious answer is players, or there would be noone gaming after they died 1st time in a game. deleting a players storage is not screwing anyone over, the player died, so its game over, if they want kit, they should have stayed alive if you see loosing your kit after dying as being penalised, then thats what im talking about as "players wanting easy mode" cause i dotn see it as penalising , i see retaining loot after death as easy mode, and making game pointless. what does that have to do with running back to stashed gear that you can somehow remember location of after you die? nothign to do with it.,
-
the point was dont get killed, dotn lose stash. dont you get my topic at all?
-
nah its not the same at all, because yuo know where you are running, if someone else comes across your kit while your alive, no problem, . new spawn running back to kit, knowing where they left it, is what i am talking about in topic.
-
yeah we cant have full realism, or noone would be playing any shooter game after they died....we need some game mechanics, and character respawn is much more important than item respawn, right?

i didnt ask for an explanation on survival, but you did ask me how does running back to equimpent after dying make in game survival meaningless. its because, when your dead, and youre respawned in game, you shouldnt know where a dead person buried equipment, and be able to run back to that kit, and be set up . if you think gear is so unimprotant to survival why do you even want to store it anyway, if gear is teh least of yoru worries in days, why will it be the first thing that im gueewssi9ng your gona do when you respawn is run back to that gear. when you run into an armed squad , let me know how well survival works out for you, when you dont have any gear... my viewpoint is pretty basic here, the players who want to be able to run back to their gear is what i cant understand, dont you want a challenge? why are you playing dayz sa, if not for challenge? -
are you saying that respawning is unrealistic? respawn is simulating a new person arriving, its not simulating reincarnation.
-
why can less than 1 player per 2km2 be too much, i play only on full servers for 500 hours on sa, and i dotn see many players west, except at the obvious places like air field etc. map is masive, most of it is not used, 100 would still feel empty to me. edit - ok maybe not empty , but woudl not feel full. and no i dont want to be running into peopel, i want the map to remain quiet, because then meeting other players still retains the excitement, 100 or even 150 would not change that i think
-
the map is massive, 100 or 150 could easily be on the map, it woudl stop peopel running around in the open expecting to always be safe, and it would make players actually use the map. a low % of players are west on any full server, some of those towns will be deserted all night., 150 would be fine, but for sake of a smoother running game lag wise, id say 100 is ok.

im not going to try to make you see what my view is, ive explained it my view pretty clearly, so if you want that in game, you want it. thats up to you. im gutted about it, because i think its easy mode and unrealistic(for obviosu reasons,) it goes against the basics of what i thought the standalone was going to be, i dotn want to be runing back to some stored kit to carry on where i left off. its just like having multiple lives on some old arcade game to me -
map is enough for more than 100 players, but 100 would be fine i guess.

because thats how it was before? sorry but that argument doesnt sway me, sure if you are lucky enough to find someoen elses gear, why woudln't you be able to use it? it stil has nothing to do with why a new character should know where a dead character left gear. its so unrealistic, and it takes away from the whole point of the game as i see it, you start a new game, try to stay alive from using skill, not from run to a stash of gear from before. does no one see what i mean or what? does everyone want easy mode? -

anyway i duno what the news is with loot stash i stated that earlier, i havent kept up with news, if its confirmed that loot stash will stay after you die, im a bit gutted about that, its the 1st negative news, that i actually care about, that ive heard about dayz sa so far. im suprised anyone actually thinks that your gear stash staying in game, because more importantly you somehow being a new character know where to find it, is a good or authentic/realistic idea. -

many characters stay alive a lot longer than you might realise, running back to a store when you die takes the meaning from the game. i dotn understand why the game needs storage, although we dont know how the game will be when its finished and how future mechanics will make a reason for storage in game i dont see why if a character dies, he should know where to find a stash. i dont see the point in searching for equipment and dying in dayz if its all there when you respawn. are you guys saying you want to run back to a stash and gear up when you die in dayz? seems so easymode to me. -
are binos getting fixed? anything about that?

loot stash persisting for any player after death can only lead to exploitation similar to what you already mentioned, as i see it. while with stash disappearing upon death, of course no friends can get it for you, you cant get it, and no one else is missing out, as they didnt even know about it anyway. -

is it going to be where items stay when you die? so you can die, then go back to your storage and get set up again? im really hoping thats not correct. cant be. -
as a new player, id suggest you should go only on full servers, and just hang out in svetlo or berezino or wherever you spawn, and get to know the town, and how other people play, then if youre still alive after a while, just work out a town you want to go to inland, work it out on dayz db map or in game map, and just go there, you will soon start to recognise whats what, what can spawn where. and how to play. it will all come natural if you just play , its quite simple when you get to know it, theres not much to learn really, just try not to die
-
did you really need to try it to know it would work??
-
anyone should realise that releasing the sa when they did, was an obvious move for the company. what makes sense to op, is different from what makes sense to the people who created dayz and want to make money from it before it got ripped off, and while it was still fresh. sure, id be happy playing it in closed alpha, if i had the chance, while i have no problems playing the game as it is anyway.
-
i play hardcore first person only, so if you find it on harcore quote me here and let me know thanks ok thanks
