    Fighting gamma exploit, tripping?

    i like the night too, but i dont do much in the night time in game, because i know that so many people are expoliting settings for advantage. i hope there can be some solution to this in future, your suggestion makes sense from a realism viewpoint, whiel it may not be easy to add, without more design and thought. i have been thinking about twisting ankle before, i think even sprinting in forest in day time should cause a % chance of a twisted ankle, as it would in real. anyway its a good idea, im really hoping for something that can make night more fair.

    i just dont see how being stoned can be added into the game in any useful or meaningful or realistic way, since its not something thats visual or audible, same with cigarettes

  6. i will play a mod that removed persistent storage if it arrives, i want to play a game where thoughtless pvp only is not encouraged

  8. the main point is, it more realistic to delete a loot store,(to simulate no knowledge) than to have a new character run back to a dead guys store . edit: anyway i duno why i bothered to reply to that, im just repeating myself now, when people keep bringing up the same points., its all been covered already in topic
  9. you want the game to be like the mod, i want it to be more difficult than the mod, and i want death to actually mean something bad has happened. i cant see any problem with storage, i just dotn want to be able to run back to it after i died, no reason you couldnt find and search tents of live players why should you be happy when you died? there shoudl be no reward, no run back to gear. and again no, i stated loads of times here, i dont care about the rules of the old mod, i am discussing standalone the only problem is trusting someone enough that you think they will take enough care to stay alive, and store your stuff safely. store you own stuff, none to blame but yourself. the whole point of what im talking about is simulating realism by a simple delete storage action, it doesnt affect anyone else, except the player who lost it and if you die why shouldnt there be something to lose? why does what the mod was have to be what is standalone? i keep having to say this, because people keep saying "it was in the mod". dotn you see that dotn have to share someoen elses storage? or if you do then make sure they dont die. honestly every single point that people have made in defense of persistent storage holds no ground for me, it seems everyoen wants to be able to regear and fight, but this is not the mod, if more players could try playing a bit more realistically, more thoughtfully, it means more skill, more immersion, more care and thought. more commitment to a characters life, anyway i want the most diffuclt game possible, i already try to stay alive, as much as i can, while still making the game exciting, persistent loot after death will only decrease from teh difficulty level on dayz. i dotn see any argument to keep it, every point thats been made about clan storage or whatever, it just doesnt cut it for me, you trusted a friend, they died, that shouldnd be another factor of the game too, or just dotn trust anyone. everyoen who thinks theyre hardcore dayz player should embrace the difficulty and challenge, not be happy that an instant re-gear mechanic is brought back everyone thats happy about persistent storage and running back to loot, good for you, youve got it, i was expecting more of a challenge from sa myself, not this (as i see it) arcade style persistent loot. thanks everyone for the discussion on topic, although im suprised how many want the run back to gear, ist good to see what people think.

    Remove 'sniper' rifles?

    i have to disagree with the op , if im running around carefree on dayz, i want and expect a 7.62x51 in my skull to remind me how foolish i was being. anyway op, just think before you move more, you might be suprised how much care you can take, and how much it can help, good luck in dayz, its good challenge.
  11. im not asking for anything, i have typed loads tho, about my thoughts on the subject here, read it of you want, you might realise that what you typed isnt really related to my view, and kind goes off topic, its ok anyway, im not trying to make anyone think like me, just stating an opinion on running back to get gear from persistent storage after you die. because i and others want a more diffcult game does not mean we should check out any other game. dayz is already the pc game yet, as a lot of us will agree.. zombo are you playing pvp only in dayz? is that why you care about persistent loot? im interested why people want it.

    Making the switch to the machete!

    i really want to be able to paint the crowbar and pipe wrench, i want to be a military character that uses the best military grade gear, i can, m4 or ak, and have a camo pipe wrench or crowbar, am i crazy?(wrench or bar that actually do consistently good damage hopefully) i am carrying pipe wrench on my mess around non-hardcore character, pipe wrench is my first dayz sa love, and the reason i originally joined dayz forums to post about it, haha the reach on crowbar and wrench seems weirdly short tho, especially on the crowbar, sometimes im standing right behind them and it stil doesnt hit.

    in case anyone actually cares, i did finally get a copy of the trial from sharkeran, we met up pustoshka. it was cool to do that, hes a good player, helped me out a lot here, even though i didnt trust him at all until after i met him and had the book haha. after he left i stayed in the town and started reading in a quiet house, 10 minutes later i heard m4 and pistol fire, i jumped up to the window, thinking wtf, there was 3 guys at the well, i guess they had just been shooting zombies as they entered the town, expecting noone to be hanging out here. anyway theyre lucky im friendly haha (see pics), http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/594785681541490685/EAD4974407781C922C5399F3F653B16B1FF53FEF/ they should be careful in future whoever they are, maybe they were friendly too, but i didnt want to risk saying yo, since i need to at least finish reading this book before im killed, anyway i let them get their drink and chill out and leave oblivious, then i went back to my book, thanks again shark! http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/594785681540824862/70C9D69764B9C1F2D3F9EDB5FCC0C74A60A99EAF/ the end.

    Eating and drinking sounds

    i thougt about it a few times, i was wondering if it will be changed, and i hope it wont be changed. i feel the same about all the action sound effects. its not realistic to sound like a monster when you eat a can on peaches, but at the same time, it sacrifices a small amount of realism, to add a lot of danger to the game. i mean it is hard to eat silently, the game just makes it a bit louder. just makes you have to take care, or move to a safe place to eat. im happy with this , the more tactical thought required the better.

  17. haha i think him arriving on your kit just as you were killed would be unlikely, anyway i now realise why you want persistent storage, you only play dayz for pvp, i guess that this persistent will really affect pvp only players, and help them get back to fight asap. dayz sa is more than pvp, it is amazing as a pvp game im sure , with all this space and freedom,, and some days i wish i played it that way, because i come from project reality and arma etc, but it pvp is just something that happens when you try to stay alive moving around in the dayz world . and when you been alive a while, it feels so hardcore, you are actually scared to give away your position, its amazing .

    Melee Damages?

    they will usually die from axes, pipe wrench and maybe some other heavy melee weapons if you hit them in the back of the head when they havent reacted to you yet. its not registering all the time, although it seems to register head shots more consistently than it does when they have started attacking you already.
  19. no apology required, although i guess you did tell me to stop posting my reasoning, i think my reasons are sound anyway, and im sure you underdtand my view anyway. we are on the dayz general discussion section. im interested in peoples views on this subject, since i just read it this afternoon on forums, it seems that most who have discussed it, are happy for going back to their gear after they get killed, but the points and arguments made for it, dont make me feel any better or more cool with it at all. its like we see it totally differently. most people posting about it really want non-permanent death and persistent loot storage, which i see are coming, and which change the game that i thought we were going to be playing. its all good.
  20. storage deleted on death would not make any change to someone looting your stash while you were logged out alive, so that intensity wouldnt change, it would be increased by the additional factor of dying and loosing everything when dead. if you dotn find it hard to gear up, why do you want to have persistent storage so much anyway, i agree teh difficulty level is low currently, but im believing it will increase. also, im only talking about storage delete upon death, i havent been talking about looting bodies here. a dead body is not your current character anyway, so its not same issue in my view. and, i usually stay alive long enough to go need to loot places all over the map, i try to survive as long as possible, as do many others. playing the game is a reason enough to travel the map, and map will change as time goes on anyway.
  21. i agree it will be unfortunate for me, anyway why do you want to be able to run back to gear? dont you even agree that it would make for a more difficult and intense game? loosing everything you tried to save?
  22. this is the solution, and created permanent death, in my view, comparisons to teh mod are not applicable!(haha) because your talkig about my points and my point is about future of dayz as, not about where the mod was at. why again the way it has always been? sa, not mod if you respawn as a new character, with no stash, and then there is everything permanent about it. we disagree, you want to be able to go back to loot from before you got killed, i dont, i want to have to start new. im not expecting the game to change because of my opinions, but i think my idea is reasonable enough to express on the forum
  23. you said i was a passive agressive troll in a previous topic, and agfter you raged out a bit more, i might have told you what i thought of you, but whatever, im just a person here discussing dayz and putting ideas across, i just post honest opinions about the topics, without expecting anyone to get upset, im not here to post about personalities on the forums in the topics, anyway what do you think about running back to a previous stash when you get killed in sa?
  24. i havent asked for peoples memories to be wiped in real life, i stated that i think storage should be deleted after in game death in dayz. im also not talking about the mod, im suprised so many people want to be able to run back to their loot when they die in dayz,
  25. i think i was replyign clearly to what you were saying before and i will also reply to these statements from my view, Deleting storage/persistent items on player death = Removing gear for players who would have come across your stash or who killed you to get to your stash sure, thast how im suggesting it would work. players can still find your stash while you are alive, but after you die its gone. if player wants your storage, they can try to get the information of its location from you for it if they want to threaten you, or whatever. i dotn see any even slight negatives here keeping persistent storage/items = Allowing folks to re-gear (detrimental) yes thats right. edit:you were comparing the realism factors of respawn v storage save, thats what i was replying to that you might have got confused abt. anyway forget that. yeah havent played diablo, but death should mean start again,i agree ok maybe you do get it, it just seemed like your coming from a different angle than i was expecting with your reply, i dotn see why what the mod was should have to be in the future of dayz sa, especially with the survival aspect being more in the game in future . the world can be persistent, just because you are dead and your new character has no memory of where the dead guy left some storage (storage gets deleted) i dont see it in any way as the same, restarting in the world with nothing, and restarting with a stash of equipment are very different if you like to play on full servers and many people enjoy the journey. i thought it was a part of sa, and im hoping that items will get more rare , and survival will become much more difficult as more game mechanics introduced.. dying, and returning to dayz world with knowlege of some instant kit is not what i was hoping to be playing in sa
