the missions you are going to go for are the ones you make up in your mind. atm dayz does not have a lot of opportunities for that. but there will be. I like the idea to offer the players tasks, like, carrying a helicopter turbine over the whole map to put it into a helicopter. -

military gears and weapons / possible solution to server hopping

life is unfair, that is realistic. a survivor who is surviving on his own is in most cases outnumbered and outgunned, in comparison to a group of players who take what they want. the only realistic approach for you to have a change is to group up with other survivors, instead of changing the game towards a lone wolf style. randomizing the loot will give you more chances to run into desirable loot, but running into a group of server hopping bandits will increase aswell on every location. so staying out of cities wouldnt make you safer anymore. a single person has on the survival aspects mainly disadvantages. I am one of those PvP players who gear up quickly, join often restarting servers, but I am aware of the risk and it pisses me off, that I collect like 500 rounds of 556 before I eventually find an M4. on a side note. good hunting. -

@frost dragon "Partially agree. You weapon is in high ready position, but you do not look at iron sight, thats why you only can suppose where is your weapon pointed actually. Maybe solution is to change dot crosshair to circle (as i remember it was in mod) and fix that broken "cone of fire" mechanic. I believe it is where devs are heading to. Just need some time." - your point 2 is about scattering in the conclusion, not about accuracy, of c ourse you cannot know where you point your weapon exactly at, but the recoil should be the same, because it is the same stance you are in when shooting through the sights. so, less accuracy when not looking through the sights and same scattering in both aiming perspectives. -

1. Let us just have it all the realistc and same field of view. 2. No, the position you see is a high ready position, so the weapon is not on the hip, so there is the same stability as you were aiming through the sights. 3. let us remove the dot for at least hardcore settings. with the exception of the hands. so you can use the dot to get to some tricky stuff, when you dont have a weapon in your hands. -
the stuff you are describing is not a matter of age, it is a matter of training and experience. Do you really think that a 50 year old man is prone to breaking bones more than a 16 year old? the stamina, physical performance gets worse, but only like 10 or 15 %.

@enforcer do you think that nobody else than you has bullets? with this ability I can lay down the correct bullets next to the weapon and move on.

@rickenbacker the way you describe it could be abused when in a fixed situation and to login on the same server outside the town to attack again. "Scottie, beam me out of this shithole and let me try again" Though I have to correct myself regarding the edge of red area spawning, thanks for your feedback. @ daisho I dont understand why the badmin example would be a benefit for anybody. -
@ daisho well modern gasmask, especially that model in the game allows you to drink in contaminated areas. so yes, it is possible.

no further interaction needed. you would be in a "green zone", you login, where you logoff. you would be in a "red zone", the suggested dead area, you cannot logoff, so you need to leave the radius outside the town/base of addtional 100 to 500 meters, depending on town size or loot until you can logoff, being in a green zone. edit: if the game crashes or you want to close the game no matter what you login back to the coast, at the usual newspawn spawnpoints. this way you are not part of the current engagement anymore, in most cases. But you can still flee, better than without restriction though. any idea on how to go permit that? -
@daisho yes, that are the problems that come with it. you have that gun in your hands to have it ready to fire and not to let it jump around on your back. you have the other weapon on your back, which jumps around when running and in sprint, just imagine hanging there two weapons, jumping at each other. having two long and heavy rifles on the back and one in the hands, which would be the logical opportunity is not realistic at all regarding mobility and if you doubt that, try it in real life running with full gear, three rifles and a backpack for a kilometer cross country.

hello guys, I'd like to suggest new conditions for the inventory system, as realistic as possible. This would mean that any cargo and any item has a weight and a volume value. I come from the A.C.E. mod community and therefore I did a lot of research which was taken over into the mod. in the A.C.E. mod it is looking like the following video shows, inventory slots for your pouches on your body and backpack space defined as the simple volume of it. here is a video to show how it is in that mod. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPgZdamcMvo I think with this system and a realistic stamina system you will reach an immersion that holds the correct balance between mobility and accesibility. There are similar suggestions on this forum, well, didnt find anything which is on a similar scale of thinking. I am offering myself to give information of the collected data and I am willing to do more research as requested. to name some examples of the stuff that I did, information I gathered from first hand measurement, calculation and blueprints to come as reaslistic as possible to volume and weight of weapons, magazines, cartridges, belts, handgrenades, mines, anti-tank-weapons and rockets. best regards kOepi
