I do agree with this. The private servers seem to be much more fun when they are moderated properly. Private Server (Private hive, but still a publicly available server) = Server owner's rules. Public Server (Public Hive) = Bohemia's rules.

You are renting a server for permission to run THEIR (Dayz's) server files. The server files do not belong to you or the hosting company, they belong to Bohemia. you are connecting to their database, so you have to follow their rules. Same with any other service. Take Origin for instance. If you break any of their TOS rules, they can ban your entire origin account, including games you have purchased. If you don't like the rules set by companies, in this case Bohemia's DayZ server files, then I am sure you can find plenty of other games/servers to play/run. Or go back to running DayZ Mod private hive until Bohemia decides to release the server files for DayZ Standalone... but then again, you will still have to follow certain rules for public hive servers.

So I should probably just run a clean server to start with and add a few scripts at a time that I feel are needed? What are the more popular scripts that people want to have available when they play? Just looking for a point in the right direction.. no hand holding :)

OK. I'm new to DayZ Mod hosting, but I can't find an answer for this problem I am having. any player that gets knocked out is permanently unconscious. Everything works perfect until they are knocked out. Eventually the first hourglass will run out and they will spawn unconscious again and are not able to do anything except alt+tab and close the game. If they rejoin, they are still unconscious and can not do anything except alt+tab. I am running version DayZ Mod v1.8.0.3 and Arma2 OA beta 1.62.103.718. I used Jok3r5's pack that is based off of Pwnoz0r's mod pack. Joker's pack contains a lot of mods/scripts. My question to you other admins is, have you run across this problem or know anyone that has, and you possibly know a fix for it ? It is possibly one of the custom scripts that is currently running on the server? here are the scripts that are included in Joker's pack. NOTE: not all of the scripts are enabled. I can throw some stuff on pastebin if you need to look at any of the code in the ini or cfg files. Hopefully one of you guys can help. I have been searching all over Google for most of the day. If one of you can help me I would be happy to help on any project you may have. I've been a developer for 13 years (80% of that time in .NET). I feel like an idiot because I can't figure out this problem. I'm 32 years old, developing enterprise level software for over a decade... but there are 12 year olds running perfectly good servers :lol: Thanks in advance for any help!

I know this is a really old post, but does anyone know how to get an Instance ID now? I talked with a support guy and he said that he believes that that application process is not used anymore and said it was "automatic" not exactly what he meant by that. he sent me to github to get the latest server files which I did, I jsut need someone to point me in the right direction on how to obtain an instance ID so the server I am making can be a part of the public hive. thanks in advance.

Let me Google that for you If people are posting on these forums complaining about Admin abuse, etc. then they should know how to report a server. I signed up a couple days ago when I bought the game and the very first post I read was how to report servers for not following the rules.

It's only happened twice to me so far.. but I only have about 15 to 20 hours of gameplay.
