The problem with uninstalling programs is not everything is uninstalled completely. Whatever is causing your issues may still be there.You can use programs like Revo Uninstaller to do a thorough search and removal of all related files that might be causing problems before you do a reinstall. You might also only need to delete your Dayz cfg file. Documents / Dayz / Dayz cfg. DayZ will write a new cfg file when you start the game.

If you have got a Nvidia card, then you can use the Geforce experience utility to fix. Open Geforce experience.Select games from the top left, and then choose Dayz from the list and then click the optimize button. This should allow you to start game with a screen resolution that works. You will then be able to use the in game settings to adjust things to your taste.

Not sure how to help you with this, but you could try using a program like REVO http://www.revouninstaller.com/. This program is used to uninstall programs from your system, including all hidden files that are usually left behind. Once you have completely deleted all files, do a complete restart of your system, and try again. You may need to disable any virus or firewall programs that you have.

Dayz will write a new one when you restart the game.(make a copy first. just in case) Also start up your task manager to check what resources are being used. Alt/Crtl/Delete to open. Look out for any programs that could be robbing you of cpu perfomance. Have you done any torrent downloads lately. Some sites get you to lend some of your cpu power to help save the world without you knowing. Happened to me once before. Had similar issues to you. Good luck.

Grass definitely needs to render a lot further than at present. Trying to hide in grass on sniper hill, or anywhere else at the moment is pointless as is. Ideally player render should be limited to the lowest render distance of other objects. But with grass only rendering at around 100m or less, this would not be ideal. Would love to see grass render at least 300m.
