Topic: Extend an item from despawning & respawning to a greater value. Goal: Prevent Loot Farming and Camp Despawning. Examples: Player picks up item('s), drops the item('s) which despawn and a new item appears x amount if minutes later: I want to change minutes to hours. Player finds camp, empties contents of storage containers, items despawn: I want items to stay x amount of hours instead of x amount of minutes. type name="Raincoat_Green"> <nominal>60</nominal> <lifetime>5600</lifetime> <restock>0</restock> <min>30</min> <quantmin>-1</quantmin> <quantmax>-1</quantmax> <cost>100</cost> Nominal = amount per server? Lifetime: Once dropped, this is seconds to how it takes before an item respawns? Restock: ? Min: ? I also read the following and a bit confused: Source: www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/9hamlp/the_dayz_server_owner_howto_and_faq Questions What does he mean by distance based? Like you need to be a certain distance away, which I doubt. The mod was distance based, but loot farming in SA isn't? There is a despawning script? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is no 0.65. Where do you people get this stuff from? They've openly said 0.63 is the last build before 1.0. Old news... PVP mods are wack. Why would you want a PVP mod with a PVP structure that's meant to be clunky? I can't wait until those players quit for good and find some other corny ass game like PUBG or Fornite. -

I don't want this topic to turn into a rant on the devs. If you use critical thinking, it's not a dev issue at all, its a CEO issue and if anybody is to blame it's Marek Spanel...blame him. Anyway, I'm just looking for some clarification. Thanks for posting. -
Thanks for the post. Hopefully someone is working on this as I feel it's most most important mod anybody could make right now. DayZ needs desperately needs proper night play. How the light spills from the lamp in a cone shape on the street sets the mood. Maybe a flickering light for additional immersion.

I shot a guy last night in a crane (Elektro), he ghosted in and started shooting at me. I got him in a corner and shot him 25x with an M4 before be died. 95% of bullets hit. My friend shot him too with an undetermined amount of bullets. Weird because when I get killed it's one bullet that often has no sound, I just drop dead.

Didn't y'all learn anything when you pushed Full Moon Nights super late in the mod after such a big drop off in player population? People don't want to play pitch-black night time on console, all of my friends think it sucks and they've quit + uninstalled. Very few people want to play pitch black nights on PC either. Even with street lights on it's a tough sell. I've been fighting the good fight here for years now and my voice STILL isn't being heard. We would have a full pop 60/60...night time would come on and the population drops to 15/60 every single time. If y'all really want some nights just put it on certain servers that are labelled to have a night cycle. I would wager those servers will have a low population. You can't force it, give players a choice. Creatively, this direction sucks. You've lost your minds if you expect console players to endure 4-5 hours of night time. Doesn't BI want to sell units??? Is this a dev choice or is this coming from upstairs (Marek Spanel)?

Thanks Nayte. I'm fully confident the features they promised will be deployed post release. Eugene said they would and I'm going with his word as they've never really cut anything out...only delayed.

Thank you DannyDog. I set the lifetime of certain items to 24 hours in my init.c, but they despawn after a server restart. Do I need to adjust something somewhere else? Thanks again! -
I own both titles (BO4 and RDR2) and I noticed zero change in base for BO4 and reports are saying it's not doing well despite no official figures out. They're saying it's on par with WWII which did horrible in overall units sold. Something like 12M compared to their top (MW3) which is over 30M. Source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/321374/global-all-time-unit-sales-call-of-duty-games/ Maybe RDR2 had an impact (you're right, it's absolutely amazing and I didn't care for RDR1 that much post-play) but the first night of the nightime update I went on and the numbers were similar (being lower). I can't argue this point with validity because I can't remember the dates exactly. I will say that console players are a finicky bunch and they absolutely will not grow with DayZ as it grows. They get jaded fast. Don't get me wrong, I want to DayZ to succeed, I've invested a large part of the last 7 years of my life to it because I believe in the experience. I've held my tongue back in these forums and have been a fountain of positivity for the most part. Only recently have I turned off my filter because I'm feeling desperate now because as news of development has come to light the voice of reason has a dull edge.

UPDATE: As of last weekend, 98% of console servers with a population over 50 are night and nearly all are pitch black during prime time hours East Coast USA. We server hopped for hours to get this telemetry. Global population IS DOWN on console, confirmed. Before nights were FORCED there was 3-4 max pop (60/60) servers with almost 10 in the high to low 50's. This weekend, lucky if there was 1 max pop and maybe 3 servers in the mid to low 50's...a lot were in the 40's and not a far scroll down they're down to 11/60 and 4/60. Surprise surprise, forced pitch black nights are driving players away. Where are all these Stans with 8, 10, 2, 1, 28 posts coming from?

No they don't, stop lying. There is like ~1% clamouring for a night cycle. I want a night cycle, but it sucks...check my posts before you go grouping me in with your verision of everybody else. I'm not here to argue with someone who's got 35 posts and still wet behind is ears. I need someones ear that can make a change happen. You're on ignore.

No I'm not. I got 7k+ hours, 6.5 years playing, and 5 years hosting servers. I know player history with the IP better than anybody...I watched it happen. We've had more than 20,000* players (*that are countable) come through our doors and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to notice their behavior. Where are you getting your telemetry from ("most Xbox players")? You're making that up because there is no way for you to know that. Stop talking out of the side of your neck and keep it moving pleb. Why don't you make me shut up? I love DayZ, where did I say I hated it? Maybe it's time to stop being a fucking troll and get out of my thread?

I'm seeing screens of players with Debug Monitors in the top right of their screen. Can anybody lead me in the right direction to modding one into a server? I haven't found anything yet. I want to add some assets to the map and need the worldspace coords the Debug Monitor provides. The old Debug Monitor had a bunch of features like infected killed, players killed, etc. Is this possible with the newr Debug Monitor? Thanks!

Hey Gary! We're probing for a solution with the Power Grid idea I've had since 2014. Hopefully someone will make it. I was going to post that here, but it sounds more complicated than just getting Street Lights working. I'll take the Street Lights first and cross fingers for the Power Grid idea later.

I understand that. I was giving that link as an example so people know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the support though! Light can be turned on because the devs had one street light on per town in early DayZ SA so it's possible.

Hasn't happened to me and afaik know there has never been a Stary Spawn. The pre-alpha testers has the bridge south of Vybor that people still will get every now and again, but Stary...never. BI wouldn't for the simple fact that there was a vehicle and mil weapon spawn there. Are you operating a modded server? -

Groups is a new feature on XB1 and DayZ Colony was the first to get one up. How do we know we're the first? The day Groups was announced we had one up within the 1st 24 hours. We're getting started early so make sure and sign up now @ DayZ Colony (CLICK ME I'M A LINK!)
