The press vest has saved my life against bullets, I can confirm that. After 600 hours I've found half a dozen press vests. Stab Proof Vest, just found my first one last night in a police station. Considering it says in the description its a police vest it would make sense that they can be now found in police stations. I haven't read of anyone saying they can be found in police stations, only read about Riffy and train stations. It is unfortunate that there are no inventory slots on the SPV. Sorry I can't completely answer your question about Zed damage, but I figured I would chime in about where the rarer of the two can be found. Good luck! -

Dr. Yutani was kind enough to embark on this solo mission to find the Source Of Infection. Naturally the mission was a success. Initially this was a suicide mission as the risk of infection was far too great to spread to our colonists. Definitely a bad idea. With a map this size (and by that time the map will probably be expanded north more) I see no reason to spread rare parts to other servers. -

With all the duplicating going on, I would have a problem with this. Server owners would use it as an advantage over other servers and would probably end up selling them for RLM.

Dean Hall's original comment from Eurogamer: "I feel like DayZ is a fundamentally flawed concept," he went on, "and I've always recognised that. It's not the perfect game; it's not the multiplayer experience, and it never can be, [with] the absolute spark that I want in it." Hall clarifies that comment via reddit: "Just because DayZ was commercially successful does not mean it is the perfect multiplayer game. We can make DayZ absolutely perfect, seamless, optimized, and running fantastic in every way - and it in my eyes it will not be the ultimate multiplayer game." --- Hall is an ambiguous fellow. A man of many riddles. Nobody really knows what he means half the time, these comments included. I am pretty sure he wasn't referring to groups of people killing lone wolfs though. Killing and getting killed are core aspects of the game. It makes surviving mean something. This is an intended feature. -
I see a lot of servers that have '24/7 Day' in the server name/description. For those of you that are experienced with the mod, this is a hallmark of things to come. A bad omen perhaps. What I mean by that is many fear that when the private hive is established, DayZ as we know it will more than likely revert back to over-modded servers. Custom loadout, self saline/blood, 500+ vehicles, donator perks, etc. For those of us that enjoy night play, there is hardly an alternative. I dare anyone on the board to find me a highly populated server that is on a night cycle. There has to be a legitimate reason why nobody is playing nights. The reason is: night play in DayZ's current state isn't attractive. There has been some tweaks to gamma/brightness, I see that. What I propose is lets turn the lights on and lock the time cycles on server owners/renters. If we start now, players will be well adjusted to it way before the game is officially finished. I'm talking Regular as well as Hardcore [as HC doesn't have lights currently]. I want to be clear on what sort of lights I'm referring to. I'm talking about street lights…turn every last one of them on. House lights [some not all] as well as tower lights would ne nice as well. But if I couldn't have all three and had to choose, I would vote for street lights. I had all three of these on my mod server and night play was perfect. Just enough light to get around and loot in the cities. Countryside, your on your own. But if you stayed on or near the streets, you had light to guide you. For starters, this will eliminate anyone looking to exploit gamma/brightness as having lights on will foil the advantage. Secondly, it flat out looks awesome. You get an authentic feel of what the night brings…ambiance, uncertainty and fear. I don't know about you, but 24/7 day is complete rubbish and takes away what DayZ is supossed to be, look and feel like. Thoughts?

That is exactly my point. Night play is currently unattractive which is why people prefer days atm. Playing at night should be easier. Less zeds on your trail as well as the cover of darkness against bandits. If night play was attractive, playing at night would be a lot easier than day play. Not entirely. They have made tweaks though and its nothing like it used to be. Hardly an advantage as comparted to the past. -

Why would they do that? I've done it and everything in there is SA. For example, go open weapon_attachments_textures.pbo and tell me what's from the mod. Everything in these pbo's are not in the mod: weapon_magazines.pbo weapon_muzzles.pbo weapon_optics.pbo weapon_supports.pbo weapons_ammunition.pbo weapons_firearms.pbo -
