I posted this before and will post it again here. The problem is "people" don't understand that throwing money at this stage of development doesn't speed up the process. "I would say that we sacrificed the last few months in preparation for the next six months. We hired a very large number of new people, that means development slows a little because these people must be trained, adjust, etc... These people have now gotten used to the engine and are just starting to produce serious results. I didn't see you post, sorry. A lot of those servers with a standard name and no population are paid for by Bohemia. I read something to that effect on Dean Hall's reddit. -
Right now these things are everywhere. If their in 3rd-world countries, they would be in Chernarus. Google Image Search 'lifestraw' and look at all the impoverished countires that have LifeStraw's.

Find some low pop servers with a decent ping and favorite them. Find some high pop servers with a good ping and favorite them. A long way back, Dean Hall went over SA having proficiencies. I believe the video I saw he talked about medic and mechanic proficiencies in particular and the more you do them the better you get at them. I'll look for the video when I get a free minute. What makes you think the Mosin is the last sniper system to make it into SA? We've seen the AS50 in the pbo's already, SVD is coming and it wouldn't surprise me to see a DMR make an appearance as well. We're less than half-way to 1.0 and still have a lot of distance to cover my friend. Although we did use the AS50, it was late in the mod when we started using it. In the beginning we used DMR's and those worked fine cracking skulls in driver seats as well as rotor assemblies. -

Reiterating what Byrgesen said, find stable servers and favorite them. It is the only way and works for me. Only time I get wiped is on servers I'm not familiar with. Hope this helps! It really is the only and best advice.

How could we deal with hackers?

I don't like the idea of kill messages because it gives up anonymity to the entire board. I think it would hurt role-play as well as game-play because the board will see message after message on the screen…especially for those capping film. My suggestion is: to keep the player name attached to the dead body indefinitely [until it despawns]. What happens is you kill someone and when the body gets cold or hid its an 'unknown entity' which is problematic if your trying to record proper evidence. This happened to us the other night. Our group killed a hacker and the one that killed the hacker hid the body too quickly before I could get to it and check pulse for a name to corroborate his hacked contents [infinite ammo…he was teleporting as well]. -
Not sure what Chrony means. You got a nice cinematic video with a thumb that looks like an ad for egg-rolls at a Chinese take-out. I mean that in the most constructive way possible. If you have Arma 3 you can take a nice aerial cam pic of somewhere in Chernarus which might a nice touch. You can add fog and stuff too.

Roadblock for what? Zombies driving cars? Whats not to get? Poor = poor = not enough or little to no resources. A lot of the towns have no fire protection, grocery stores, hardware stores, etc etc etc. Hardly any buses, old wooden boxcar trains, not a single school, no municipal vehicles and who knows how far away an industrialized region is. Furthermore, why would a broke country spend what little money they have on an even more broke down farming region? They wouldn't and that's why there isn't any. Chernarus is a fictitious region based on locations in Czech Republic so there is no way to cross-reference real economical data anyway. Therefore, we can only deduce an economy based on its components which as stated above...are lacking. Also, Chernarus could have gotten over-run in no time flat which could easily explain why there was no attempt at NATO/UN send relief. When a region is unprepared for a natural disaster or etc, relief takes time...a few days at the least for relief to be on site. This happens in the US all the time. Maybe the infection hit too fast for anyone to take on such measures. Some of these towns look like they have a population of a couple dozen to a couple hundred with the bigger cities having a population of a few thousand at best. Not enough resources, not enough hands, not enough time. Shit could hit the fan and turn any one of those regions upside down in 24-48 hours. Folks would be too busy scrambling for their lives. You see the televisions and radio's in the houses? Those radio's look like their from the 70's. I can easily see the infection hitting and a farmer grabbing some essentials before literally running for the hills. Also, whats cutting down a tree going to do? -
