    The new tent spawn

    The tents on the low-rise apartments only spawn in two rooms. Go straight in, take a left, go past the bathroom, take a right. You will see two rooms …tents spawn in these two rooms only. I've spent hours and hours seaching for tents and have found 3+ and they always spwn in those two rooms. This method makes the search go a lot faster. Good luck!

    I've been getting some fram spikes for a a few builds now. Randomly I'll drop to half frames. 0.48 it was literally every 5-6 seconds. 0.49 is better with spikes only around every 20 seconds. You think an SSD might alleviate this problem?

    Short answer: You can't Long answer: Even if you knew the name of the player, server hosters removed the ban function. Reason being, server hosters are not able to unban anyone so they removed the option. If you knew the persons name, you could get their GUID, but there is nothing you could do with it even if you reported it as non-company servers aren't using logs. Only way to get legitimate dirt on someone is to get them on video doing the hax, GUID check the entire server beforehand and record the results via video, kill the hacker and check pulse after death to get their name on video as well. You could send that to Bohemia and maybe, just maybe…if the moon was in line with the sun, you sacrificed a few white chickens to Santeria, made a voodoo doll with intertwined nose hairs of Senchi and Dean Hall and stuck it with pins all the while chanting 'Gozer the Gozerian' you might get someone banned. Keep us updated.

    Not really, I would say more miss than hit. Tents ultimatley disappear which is full of miss. I knew tents would be an issue as the mod had issues with tents as far as 1.7.3 or somewhere around there. What are they on now, 1.8.2? Honestly, I couldn't tell you. Once the event was over we left the server. So all the guns and backpacks that was left behind…I've no data on that. We had two people filming the event which turned out to be harder than expected especially with the advanced weather being bugged. The film might not make the light of day, but if it does I'll upload it and share with the community here via the gallery.

    Steak…I've tested this and gotten a very different result than you've suggested. I co-rent and master admin on a server via gameservers.c°m with persistence enabled. I've had tested 2 tents in remote regions. Tent #1: I left that space empty as there is a bug when you reaccess a tent, it appears empty until you drop something in it then all items appear. First two restarts everything was fine and didn't move. After the 3rd restart the Mosin moved up a row and ate the random items in the middle. Both vests were gone. Hunters backpack was still there but many of the contents were missing due to Tetris. A few more restarts and the entire tent was gone. Same result with Tent #2. What is happeneing is a few things. Tetris is killing inventory, items inside the tent are flat out disappearing, as well as tents disappearing after a few restarts. Gameservers.c°m initially had a rollback system to the last file save which was 24 hours. They changed this after a few days to two save files per day which is naturally 12 hour increments. Considering it takes 17-24 hours before staff responds to a ticket, you can kiss your tent and its entire contents goodbye. Persistence is completely broken right now and not worth the time it takes to get a tent, find a spot and load it up. --- As far as loot lifetime with other objects…including backpacks, I've noticed a few things... Crafted items a la fireplaces [unlit] disappear after two restarts. We had an event the Friday before last which was set at night. What we did was set up a bunch of unlit fireplaces around Novod Town Hall to prep the environment. We did a forced restart with one fireplace and it stayed so we left the rest which was about 8 total. On the 2nd restart [natural], they were all gone. We made more afterwards and got the same result after natural restarts…poof. We had some lanterns in Town Hall during the event that stayed after several restarts, approx 4 [server was naturally restarting like the dickens]. We also had some laterns [approx 4] disappear after one natural restart pre-event when the unlit fireplaces were placed and disappeared. Post-event we had approx 7 dead players backpacks stay where we took them off and persisted with contents intact after several restarts. Both natural and forced. Some players also left their backpacks before the event downstairs and they stayed in place, intact, with contents after several restarts. This past Thursday we tested loot farming at the military base [server was bone dry everywhere, NWAF, all bases in the west, etc] east of Vybor a la mod style. Removed every item from the base into Mountain backpacks and dropped them about 100 meters south at the foothills of Veresnik. Items on the foothills as well as Mountain backpacks filled and not fully filled remained after several restarts. Loot also respawned inside the base, but not completely and mostly non-essential loot like books, compass, water bottle, etc. The loot respawned immediately and not after a restart. E.G.: cleaned out the bottom of the jail, went to the top…cleaned it out. By the time I got downstairs, loot had respawned downstairs.

    I think 100 might possibly work as a cap. By the time that happens we might have another island or two which would spread folks out a bit more. Might still be too much, but I would love to see a live map feed of it and how 100 players move around.

    Never hearing gun shots doesn't exacly mean you are not being shot at. :P I ran 50 man private server on the mod for over 8 months which allowed me to see a 15 second delayed server map w/quasi-live locations and 200 players is waaaay to much. I got to see how people interact with the map on a live feed and defintely disagree with your theory of hot spots. People were everywhere. Chernarus isn't big enough for 200 player servers. I have 1400+ hours in SA and about 2.5k hours in the Mod.

    Location: Western Myshkino Coordinates: 011 081 Build: Stable Branch 0.48 & 0.49 Our research team will take you on a before and after virtual tour of Balota Tent City and its migration to Myshkino. This film is a bit special to our team for a few reasons. For one, I have been waiting for some time now to use the title track 'Americana' by Kevin MacLeod. It is a truly a beautiful piece of work. Second, our R&D teams brainstormed this development several months ago. On June 27th I suggested the removal of tent city from Balota and to burn the airfield out with airstrikes to bring back south coast spawns. All of which can now be found in-game.     Good point and thanks for the question. As you can see in the pic there is a blown out tank on the left. There are also some other military vehicles. If this was truly a camp for infected you would see a lot more medical tents instead of just one. Just my opinion though… There isn't much military loot right now which supports your argument, but that might be because its a new location. I would expect more military loot in the new update or so.

    Thanks Odin! Once SVD's are in I'm betting they will spawn at Mi-8 sites. I found an Mi-8 spawn at NWAF but it was halfway into the ground. Someone went through the cfg's and made a map of the current lcoations which have been whittled down to like 54ish. Here is the map:

    Bring Back Southcoast Spawns

    I got this idea when I saw what they devs did to NEAF and I can bring DayZ back to a pristine state. Give Balota the same exact treatment. Dumb it down completely, make it more civilian. Better yet, turn it into something like Kumyrna…blown out from fires and airstrikes. Remove the loot tabels from the tents or just put like military clothes in it. My vote is turn tent city off completely. Now I know what your saying…why the hell would you want that? Let me explain... This will allow the devs to turn the southcoast spawns back on. The only reason they are off is because they don't want tent city being gangbanged within 5-10 minutes of spawing fresh.. Cherno will go back to its original state…populated and full of action. Electro will be populated and most of all…NWAF will turn back into the warzone it should rightly be, just like the mod. You want action…you want loot? NWAF. Berezino nor NEAF are designed for action. Now NEAF got the make-over, I can't wait to see where the herd moves to. Nobody is playing Novo, Karmanovka…dead. All these little shanty towns are just cluttering up tent space. Nobody is playing Karmanovka and that little hamlet above it, even though its only in experimental will forever be dead as a door nail. They got another plot northeast of the new town above Karmanovka where another shanty town will be that nobody will go to. I'm not saying don't build it, just don't expect people to play dead zones near debug by forcing the spawns only on the east coast. Bring back the southern spawns. Enough is enough. Lets play the entire map.

Much to my surprise, he spoke of additional islands in the North Eastern Debug regions. After fact-checking this newly acquired intel, I decided to dispatch a research team into the region.
