Still, old Ai code from 2012 could satisfy everyone. Go to opendayz.net and download Sarge Ai, Notepad C++, open the script and check out what it does. The Ai is very intricate and considering how old the model is, mind blowing improvements could easily be coded. I used that script on my mod server and those Ai maxed out are highly intelligent and nearly impossible to kill. The can set ambushes, call in reinforcements, regroup, etc. Those Ai are better than RL players. With the old model they could code your personal progression into the Ai with better ADS times, locating targets and etc. Also, if your Ai was killed, you should be killed which is why I think its a bad idea. Log back in: everything is gone, even your e-soul. I hope you don't take offense to that. The fact that your having ideas is a cool thing, but I think your aim is off in scope. -

All around bad idea's and I'll explain why I think this... First of all this isn't a game, its a simulation. If your not there to protect you're assets, they become vulnerable as this is the nature of the simulation. This isn't Rust nor Minecraft which are ultimately designs for children. The best of your idea's is the AI who is present in you're absence. It is not difficult to code actually, rather simple. Sarge AI from the mod could do exactly what you want and it was made by the community...free, for the community. What makes this a poor idea is your AI is going to get killed and thus, you should be killed. So not only will you log out for the night; return to all of your shit gone, but also you'll be a fresh spawn which will piss you off that much more. What your not understanding is you don't need to play 20 hours/day to protect your assets, just don't pick a house to barricade thats on the beaten path. Get creative. There are lonely shacks deep in the woods…I won't tell you where because I have my eye on a few. Maybe don't pick a house with all the fixings. Get a lonely house in a remote region for your high-value property. Then use another house nearby for horticulture. Maybe another house for non-essentials and etc. Ultimately, don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Lastly, this should be in the suggestions forum…some good stuff in there. -

Thanks for clearing that up. Believe it or not I haven't read anything that says you can't play a private shard 3PP player on anything other than a 3PP private shard server and only one server correct? So basically the private shard is like a watered down private hive? Very little clarification out there and I would hate to speculate as the details have been a bit ambiguous. So how is it going to work when the private hive comes into play? Wouldn't it be confusing for there to be a private shard and a private hive? Seems a bit pointless to do anything 'private' w/o the modding community involved.

I have doubts and I'll explain why... Power is needed and is a must to run a sound server. Abuse of power has dire consequences now that incentives are practically non-existent. The thing that is going to circumvent server abuse is the lack os control over the loot economy. People abused power and got away with it in the mod because they could offer 500+ vehicles, donator/custom load outs, self blood bag mumbo jumbo and etc. Now that shit is no longer a viable option, some snot nosed brats are going to have to learn the hard way…meaning there is going to be crickets and tumble weeds on their servers once the word gets out. At the price point servers are currently at, admin abuse won't last long.

What I said I might be mistaken about and you quoted it (but oddly enough you're response is related to another quote I made), is Hicks promoting server hopping recently. I was referring to the EGX interview and it looks like I was mistaken about him promoting server hopping as I just relistened to it. Below is what CAN be achieved on the Private Shard: Password protect the serverOperate a white list (using BEC)Ban/Kick trouble makersDefine and enforce server gameplay rules (eg: DayZRP, PvE only, etc)Below is what CAN NOT be achieved on the Private Shard: Access or modify the base game configuration (amount of loot, amount of dynamic server events, vehicles (when they are implemented), etc)Violate the naming convention declared in the hosting rules (these will be updated to reflect the new private shard capabilities)Have access to the database itselfOperate any 3rd party “Admin tools” aside from the approved BEC (BattlEye Extended Controls)Access debug logs (currently these are unavailable for both user privacy, and performance)Exceed current maximum player limits per instance (40, as of the time of the writing of this status report)--- Nowhere does it say ANYTHING about not being able to carry over your character outside of the private shard. If I missed it, show me. At this time there is only one hive, which is the central hive. If the private shard is on the central hive, then theoretically players on the private shard should carry over into the other shards being 1PP and 3PP servers. When we get a private HIVE then things might be different. When we get a quote from someone with clout that says otherwise, we just don't know like I said before.

If your involved in art, which I don't think you are….please don't take offense if you are as you might not be there yet…there is something I call the beautiful mistake. Mistakes happen and if you got the stuff, the energy gets redirected into something beautiful that you could have never thought of beforehand. It happens in all forms of art and the highest level of art is improvisation which is a testament to this anomaly. DayZ happened by accident and everybody and their mother said SA took too long and it would fail. Even Hall only projected about 350k sales in the timeframe it did 1M. If I was to guess, I don't think Bohemia thinks of DayZ as a boatload of money. Maybe a boatload of potential. DayZ hasn't made them rich…yet. Bohemia already has money. And lets be honest, compared to the big dogs, 2.5M in sales isn't much. DayZ will eventually make Bohemia a household name. Risk equals reward, its a universal principle. Nothing this big can be brainstormed in a board room…its not how things work. That should answer your initial question. As far as the rest, haters are going to hate…comes with the territory.

Great stuff man! Subbed to your channel. I was thinking a while back about this, but my idea was a bunch of rain coats, duck tape and some rope. Can't wait for scripting and a private HIVE, as oppossed to the pointless shard.

I'm guessing the private shard will fail miserably. I have no idea why they are even implementing it. Its rather pointless and I hate to sound negative on any new development. Without logs, scripts, or access to a database its pretty much impossible to police anything. Plus, nobody knows for sure if your player won't be playable on the public shard as nobody has confirmed that. Everyone is assuming that based on the private hive in the mod, but the private hive vs the private shard are completely different beasts. What has been confirmed by Hicks and Hall is they are very much into server hopping. Hicks even said it recently if I'm not mistaken.

The entire system is bugged. Even getting warm by the fire is bugged and sometimes you have to log out/in for the effect process to take place. No servers are warmer than others. Puffy coats and P coats work sporadically. There is no guide or system to stay warm in a bugged environment.

If its not a big deal to you, junk it or trade it. They don't work and whatever you put in it will disappear permanently as well as the tent itself. -

Anybody that follows Senchi should know that: I was talking/speculating to Tatanko about how the Mine next to Kemansk would be underground when Senchi first dropped the new map of the Northern Corridor. Then we have the ^ pic. Which leads me to thinking about Underground Bases. During the roadmap presentation [or was it post-presentation during the Twitch interview?] Dean Hall talked about how they took it off the map, but also said that didn't mean it was off the table. I know they've been wanted to to underground bases since the mod circa late 2012 and when you want somehting that long, you find a way for it to work. Is the Mine a prototype for an underground base? Sometihng to think about!
