Hello there Its an interesting idea and I see exactly where OP is coming from. But it is unworkable in the real world IMHO. OPs idea does have some merit so rather than just stomp all over him why not try to flesh together an idea that would work? Hello there This is vastly different from the A3 release and in a far less mature stage. Also with A3 there were issues with mods and mission breaking. At this stage modding just isnt going to happen. Rgds LoK

Hello there Firstly, Im not fussed about 1080 as long as you keep of the allegations. If you dont know what they are then just ignore it and move along, you can google if you must. Secondly, IMHO intros are such a waste of time and money. Fun to watch once or twice but then theyre switched off or avoided by many. A competition might be nice for any intro we have to have, but as soon as ive got a commandline to bypass them I personally will. Rgds LoK

It like me shouting out my window that the floods we are having in the UK suck and I hope they stop soon. All very good and well but I wouldnt be contributing anything. hello there An SSD should improve your FPS to a degree, but it does depend on a host of factors. Its not a one stop solution. Dont just throw money at an issue, ensure you do research first. Remember Dean cannot analyse in detail every consumers PC and their individual set up. The better ones kit the better the game should run, but its no guarantee if the system is poorly maintained or has an inherent/underlying issue. Rgds LoK

Hello there Defaction and nudity? Whats not to like? But its how one likes it is key. Nudity and waste matter is part of life and if folk want to be "hurr durrr willies and pooo!", well that only shows their own issues. Im not gonna run around nude as A)it makes you an easy target and B) as LK said about, what about exposure (weatherwise) They can both bring great aspects to the game, its only the players that can mess things up as long as theyve been implemented properly. If I see a gang of willies heading toward me and im armed then I know Ive got some extra wax and skin to make bags and candles from coming up. No problem. Rgds LoK

Hello there I can understand OP's reasoning, but it is flawed. As an analogy OP cites A3. Does he not remember the furore that happened when they changes the class name to ifrit? Almost all missions we instantly broken. That's just one tiny wee classname. Dean and the devs are up to their waist in code ripping out stuff here and there their mods would be constantly breaking, also DAYZ the stand alone release is a very different beast to Arma and one really should not think of dayz as either its parent or indeed the mod. Letting the community onto the game now would result in a bunch of unfinished forks. One is better off playing the mod and its derivatives if you crave varriety IMHO. As the game develops and more inherent mechanics are added youll see how DAYZ will change from where we are now into a truly different experience from the mod which was essentially Arma with persistence and zeds. I do sympathise with OP and see where he is coming from, but he's just not quite got a handle on what's going on and where things are heading. Now, as to when the game is complete, although Im unsure if I personally would allow modding rather than just new worlds, I do see the community being able to pick up the ball and run with it to an extent. The mod community always has something to offer, but also on the flip side can easily break the Dayz ethos. This is the first RV game where im skeptical about large scale modding. Hello there There's a whole raft of things that can be done to combat hacks. Also remember that its early days enginewise and there's stuff aplenty to come that will assist with the issue. BE and VAC do their part also. I love BE ban waves. Lastly, when servers admins have full control and things are finalised serverside there's alot that decent server admins can do. Im not worried about hacking. Itll always be there, but it will always be there in any online PC game. What we can do is make it as irritating as possible for them to hack. Rgds LoK

Hello there Watch out for scrimping on any part, small cheap cases can cause heating airflow issues, cheap Power supplies can blow and damage components cheap = poo. Although you can get lucky. Eg my case is 20pounds. it works but its flimsyt and bits fall off it and getting cards in etc is a pain and nothing sits very well. I wish id saved up even another 20 quid. Your best be is to get the best Mobo and chip, then upgrade the other bits when you get the pennies. Theres no one true cheap solution. You dont have to buy an uber expensive rig but avoid the super cheap. Rgds LoK

Hello there Although many of you are handling the subject matter in an intelligent way, I can forsee this going way off topic, and as the OP has had his answer Im going to close this. We're as gaming forum lets try to stick to that. Again, I applaud those trying to give reasonable views but its going way off topic. One can roleplay as much as one likes but expect to be kicked if one steps over reasonable humanistic bounds, whether in the "rules" or not. Can you get "banned"?
