Hello there Weve been over the "kid zombie" thing before. Many times. I do dont have any moral issue with it as I can differentiate between real life and a game but it would cause "issues" in many circles and possible location bans so we are not likely to see it. It *could* happen but I wouldnt count on it. Rgds LoK

Did they ask permission to model my sexy frame? L

Hello there Hmmmmmm... "Demand"... Im not fond of that at all. When would I prefer a fully integrated, rounded and functional vehicle system? Yesterday, If I had magic powers. In reality, whenever it happens. Id like it to be in the full release but I wont be wailing if it comes later. What is KEY (as others have pointed out) is that its a fully fledged system not a "make do" addition. Your poll requires another option of "When its ready" Rgds LoK

Hello there @Rick10980 As a newcomer to the board, although your intentions may be well meaning its always advisable to familiarise yourself with the "local" posting protocol and Official Rules as well as trying to ensure one is posting new content. The Regulars here can be very protective of their forum and like to see that newcomers dont recklessly post and make a mess which is why you have had a bit of a tough reception. So, follow mod advice and check out those sticky threads and rules and youll find your stay here a far more productive and comfortable one! Rgds LoK

Hello there To keep the forum clean of "hilarious" gifs/posts etc, we usually have one thread to rule them all. This one will suffice as the other official one is in the dayz mod section. Please use this play area. Usual rules still apply. Rgds LoK

Why...........(movement and avatar control)
OrLoK replied to creativecole's topic in General Discussion
Hello there I would prefer more intuative movement. A halfway house between the realism of Arma and the fluidity of BF3. Now, wait. I didnt say bunny hopping or dolphin diving or being able to run at 30 mph. I argued for years on the BI forums for better avatar control and had the same old "its not COD!","MOMENTUM!!!11!" , "ITS NOT A GAEM IT R MILSIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!111111!!!!""£$$%%£""!"" thrown at me, but I bet all those guys who railed at my opinion now love the more fluid animations of A3. I want stuff like momentum, I want long weapons to inhibit my movement in narrow confines, I want to feel like Im wearing heavy kit, I want all of that lovely sim-ness. What I dont like is having to "fight" my avatar to get him in place or "just" peek around a corner without stepping 4 feet from where Im hiding. Ok, I exaggerate. But any OFP/Arma vet will know of what I speak. I have been in situations where im handling a 12 ft Pike in formation in Armour and hung over with 2 dozen grumpy bikers (dont ask), now that's an unwieldy object but I could still move where I wanted and still deftly maneuver (low branches were a hazard though). Ive got modern webbing, bergen and even ABC kit here and again on the whole I can move just fine in most of it. Now, put me in tough terrain and a nasty climate and exhaust me a bit and well perhaps not so much... And thats what "I" want. I want to be able to move well and accurately, i also want to be disoriented and puking after a 10 mile yomp carrying an LMG and as many fags as I can carrry. Both sides have their points, its finding a decent middle ground and then once weve done that, working out if the engine can handle it. One thing to keep in mind though is that with better FPS ARMA/DAYZ movement feels far far better, but its not often that the average joe gets that great FPS at the moment, so we have to take that into account. I may come back and edit this, Ive got some solicitor forms just landed on my desk that need my immediate attention. Bear with me. Rgds LoK -

Hello there Ladies and gents, we seem to be getting away from the topic of the forthcoming Ps4 release and more onto the timescale issue. I know these are intertwined to a degree but unless one's post/issue directly relates to the PS4 release, I suggest we take it to another existing or new thread. Lets get back to the crux of the matter. DAYZ coming to a console near you. Rgds LoK

Hello there Diddums, Im going to have to agree and yet disagree with you. For many the speed of development has been perceived as glacially slow. This is true. The issue is their perception is wrong. As the team/vision/scope of the game has increased then so has the development time. Its not just a bunch of guys who can throw in some code and see what happens as in a mod team there's a vast amount of "stuff" happening along side development. A bad analogy is that in an afternoon I can knock up a small shed. It has lighting, electrics even carpets. So, one can say Ive built my house. Now if one then goes on to build an actual house, even though the basics are essentially the same (walls, doors, ceilings and floors) the actual logistics and buildtimes are vastly different. Its the same with the mod and the SA IMHO. How many guys do they have working now? And over different "studios", that in itself is going to throw up the occasional issue. Sick days, tech issues etc etc all sorts of new variable are thrown in to the mix. I think many fol were expecting "more" in a shorter timeframe but that's mainly, not entirely, but mainly their own mis management of their expectations. Has everything been perfect from "our" end? No, but then again who is? If you hold up the mod to the SA one can see VAST amounts have changed and we know what is still to come. If the team just decided to quickly wrap it up and polish off what they had now, they'd be cutting off their nose to spite their face. I understand your frustration, I just dont agree that its wholly justified. Rgds LoK

Hello there I loathe console controllers, but I know many who use them on both PC and console and they use them to great effect in all genres with or without correction. Its purely how you train yourself. I think its magic and dont understand how my superior mouse can be bested but ive seen it. I, with my ancient clawed arthritic hands, am dreadful with a controller and will never use one but they are not as awful as I would like. Rgds LoK

Hello there I have a chum who works in console marketing at a mid to high level. He too had never heard of DAYZ when I first mentioned it to him. Once he found out about it, he was rather interested. It IS permeating through to the consolians though and more importantly to the suits behind them. I think you'll start hearing more about DAYZ in those circles now Gamescon is over. Rgds LoK
