Hello there It's interesting that they were "roleplaying" to an extent, but it's daft they looted your flashlight (they don't (shoudn't) need it and may have been just griefing you). Plus shooting you is a bit pointless and is very griefy indeed IMHO. It would have been interesting if they had played at being armed forces and perhaps gave you some rations, some intel and then sent you on your way. Regardless, you at least did not loose anything of value and the next time you see/hear a boat hide! Rgds LoK

Hello I'm an old OFP, VBS, Arma player and have been following the rise of DAYZ for quite some time. It seems that there are far more instances of Megalodayzamania appearing in game and especially on these forums. All the suffers of this: 1/ seem to insist that folk who don't play the game *their* way are idiots/morons/retards. 2/ Copy popular internet "memes" to reply to posts rather than coming up with any cogent argument or discourse. 3/Insist on pidgeon holing people into subgroups such as "Carebears" or "Bandits" 4/Focus on non relevant issues in threads rather than on the whole concept/topic. 5/Finally as with standard Megalomania have a super inflated opinion of them selves. Hello there, I like change, It's good and healthy, but I also like respect for other human beings. I am old. I may have been left behind. But, for me, that's where I'd rather be. I'm also surprised at the negativity this thread has bought, but also a little pleased that some folk *seem* quite nice chaps/chapesses. Hello all In an open sandbox game, why not let folk store their items there if they want? IMHO it's a rather obvious and silly place to store stuff as there is no cover whatsoever. It's an obvious place to hunt for good gear that "leet" folk have hidden there thinking they are bright and are cool as they are semi "exploiting". For eg, in Tonic's wasteland map, for a while it became the "place to be" for some players. They always got raided and lost everything. IMHO it's a flash in the pan and once folk start trawling the boarders for good gear the "leets" will realise their mistake and it will be less of an issue. Rgds LoK

If you are concerned that the devs may be implementing systems which will make sweeping generalisations about mental health issues, then I would contact them directly. Hello there IMHO buy the lot (DLC's) for Arma2. There's a vast amount to the game apart from DAYZ and in comparision A2 is fairly cheap. Lastly, do not expect to MAX out this sim. Not on any realistic rig. The RV engine is known to bring rigs down to their knees. There are tricks to get the best framerate out of the game, but this isnt BF3/Skyrim etc, essentially it's a slightly dumbed down milisim/training tool that's meant to simulate small scale ops. It's not here for the pretties. Lastly A2 with custom dynamic missions/gfx/sounds/new units is a phenominal game. DAYZ is just one aspect. Rgds LoK

Hello there I too am having issues with oversensitive "Zeds". Even in a crouch and moving slowly I regularly get detected through walls and the quietest movement sound seems to aggro them for quite some distance. I havn't been able to use a gun for a while, Zed no's vs ammo is always against me so, crowbars/axes all the way. Definitely *feels* different in this patch. Rgds LoK

Hello there The strobe will... um, strobe (ie "flash") for those wearing NVG which helps them Posivtively IDentify friendlies. So, if you and your squad have strobes and NVGs you can quickly see who is on your side and who are enemy players/zeds. (unless the opposition has them as well!) Rgds LoK

hello there, Nope, you need to go read the statements on the forums. Several mods are in progress with dev help. No bottom kissing needed. They just need to make sure the proposed mods do not contain code/content is stolen/malicious/had no approval and also to a certain extent dont infract certain German laws. It's not ideal but far from a total halt to modding. Also why would they lie about it? It just hampers them to have the Bis contract the way it is. rgds LoK
