hello there No specific role, It changes depending on the situation. Main: Generally AKM, easy to find, ammo plentiful, accurate, good stopping power. Second: Colt 1911 Good Zed stoppingpower, plentiful ammo, fairly quiet. rgds LoK

Hello there Gametime date can also count as it affects moonlight. (tip: you can use stars to navigate) In some servers though it does seem as if the nighttime is more dithered and blocky on some compared to others making it very hard to see. I dont know what causes that. Rgds LoK -
Hello If suppressed weapons are modelled more realistically ie still bloody loud but *supressed* then Im all for it. But no Hollywood phut phut silencers please. Rgds LoK

Hello there Defib as in BF series? I'd rather not. An enhanced medical system enlarging on the existing one? Oh yes. It may not be realistic but would add another layer to combat. the A.C.E. mod and Project Reality mod have good med systems. Rgds LoK

Hello there, If OP *is* serious, and from a survivalists/tracking/hygene POV I can see their point. But, as other posters have sarcastically pointed out, it may add too much micro management to the game and would most likely interrupt the flow. (no pun intended) Rgds LoK

Hello there Although an interesting idea, unfortunately in games that support mechanics like, this the time period to have a weapon in working condition always seems to be incredibly short. One min I have a fully cleaned weapon, the next I have a rusty unuseable paperweight. Also, we have to remember that weapons can perform beyond their recommended cleaning times. Lastly it would make an interesting dynamic as those weapons which have less parts and/or are rugged enough to last a decent amount of time without maintenance would suddenly be in demand over delicate high performance weapons. Id like this if it's properly implemented and doesnt become a chore. Rdgs LoK

Hullo there Slightly OT, but Ive played in Chenarus since it's very first release (czech? german?) and when playing vanilla Arma2, whilst over time I have learnt the *general* layout, I have only really *looked* at it whilst playing DAYZ. The slow pace has me really noticing little subtleties and some amazing texture work. I've not seen another map (professional or custom) that matches it in detail. (Although DAYZ would be amazing in Iron Front Liberation as almost all buildings are enterable) The point being is that dont worry about chaps "knowing" the map better than you. but it may be worth scouting out "popular" areas. rgds LoK -

Hello there A quick FYI, Helo's are vunerable to LMG fire as well as heavy sniper rifles. rgds LoK (ps by "endgame" i ment more something to aim for after hitting the initial survival ceiling rather than an ummm ending of game) -

Hullo there Right lets get to brass tacks. The answers is "who knows"? If folk went and just got on with their own thing, I can only see it elongating the lifetime of the games. See Oblivion for eg. Appealing to more people will only result in more people wanting to play. I would play more if i had the option of a game other than PVP. However, watering down the core content to appeal to everyone woulkd be the wrong way to go. Does that make sense? (As in am I being clear? sorry am in a rush looking after my old folks :) ) Rgds LoK -

Hello there I think IMHO (as I believe has been stated before) that mil spec weapons should be a little more rare compared to standard hunting rifles, and indeed should be of mainly Eastern Bloc origin. But that would annoy those who love the Western weapons. Contradictingly, I find the exclusion of any weapon against the "sandbox" ethos of arma, if not dayz. Im a confusing person. Rdgs LoK

Hullo there I've played many of the "zombie" mods for A2 and they mostly don't have the RPGesque elements DAYZ has. For eg I play Toxic's Wasteland and that's purely PVP. I also play Coop missions and also Solo, so I like the whole gamut of gaming within Arma. Same with DAYZ, sometimes I want to play in a human free environ, or with mods like JSRS/Blastcore/STmovement which I cannot do with vanilla DAYZ and then sometimes I want to play Standard. Each to their own. If there was a mix of PVE and PVP servers I'd play on both. Rgds LoK -

Hello there I've always seen Arma as a sim "you play your way", so to me DAYZ is just another mod to add some spice to the game. I'm not here as much of a Zombie fan as I appreciate you chaps are, so I understand your reticance to alter the game from *your way* of playing. We also play minecraft differently, im a modded solo kind of chap. But, dont exclude me because I cant conform to your way and nor you mine. IF dayz became a dedicated 3rd person mod for eg, if I couldnt remod it back to 1st I would stop playing. Again each to their own. Im not trying to be conflicting but you chaps wanted to know, so Im giving my reasons. Rgds LoK -

Hello there Regardless of how *I* have *fun*, even if I explained it, as we obviously have differing tastes I would never be able to convince you it's *fun*. It's like Hip Hop or Country and Western, some people like one, some like the other, some neither and some both. There are mainly PVE based (non hive) servers out there, so there is some need. Even if it doesnt become standard folk will just engineer their own way to have PVE. Rgds LoK PS the chap above has it correct about separating the two so no loot farming could occour. -

Hello there I have an absolute blast playing SP DAYZ and there's no PVP in that. Sometimes I want to PVP, sometimes I want to PVE. If we have the choice we can all be happy. If PVE isn't in demand the servers will soon change back to PVP and visa versa. I see no issue, regardless of whether folk think it's "cannon" or not. Rgds LoK
