Hello there My advice is to buy CO. If you play solely for DAYZ you are mission out on a vast wealth of amazing gameplay/mods/gametype (indeed, other zombies). Don't just play one mode, play them all. Jump on in the water's fine. rgds LoK

Hello there FYI any released DLC stuff is included in the latest patches (or as a dl) albeit as a LITE version, so if (and there would be no point) DAYZ moved to one of the Czech army maps everyone could play. Lingor, as others have stated is a User made map. I assume when folk say it was ported from JA they actually mean inspired by JA. Rgds LoK

Hello there It's never been exclusively pinned down here or on the Bis forums. It may not be a 100pc way of script detection but it's a damn good indicator. I've seen it in Iron Front (no helos) and on a no plane mission. But there were fishy goings on. Proof? No, but a good indicator. rgds LoK -

How to know which houses are salvageable?

Hello there The key thing is if a building is enterable is usually will have loot. But, it may have been recently looted, or just spawned empty or tins etc. Also, I find if I drive to a lootable building, the engine doesn't keep up and the building will be empty for a while, so one has to walk away for a bit and return in a few mins to find lovely loot. Hello there There should be no time limit on how many hours a nublet should spend before being allowed to play. I do agree though that the user should do some research before purchasing a game, I always find out about a game before I buy, perhaps other folk have money to burn? I think the zigging zombies are daft as any animal brain with go for the shortest rout to their prey, zigzagging is an avoidance tecnique not an attack one. Lastly, with the glut of hand holding console-esque games on the market it's not surprising people find A2 such a culture shock. Rgds LoK

Who would want a fully passworded server?

Hello If I have to spend a couple of minutes joining a forum of a unit to get the pass to a secure server, I don't find it an issue. I'd rather jump through one hoop and have a hack free experience than be plagued by SC's. Also *IF* BE/Bis are working on security fixes, it's going to take time to have a robust system in place. I doubt they are ignoring it completely. rgds LoK -

Hello there The keybind you are looking for is "Toggle View" Be aware that 3rd person can be turned off via a server setting so occasionally you may not be able to use it. Most DAYZ servers keep 3rd person open but in A2 its quite common to have it disabled. Rgds LoK -
Hello there Firstly, posting threads with misleading/no descriptive titles is bad form. Just FYI. Secondly, the best thing to do is download Arma2Free and see if that runs well on your machine, this will give you a good guestimate of whether your existing rig can handle DAYZ. Good Luck rgds LoK

Hello there Visible map markers are a legacy thing left over from arma. Essentially your avatar is a PMC (now rescripted to Survivor) and according to the game logic is on the same side as every other survivor. I personally use the map to point out good loot for other players and as bandit warnings. Although in this case its quite amusing, Map spamming is generally frowned upon and seen as a childish, irritating thing to do. Markers will appear on a map if they have been jotted down whilst you are in game. If you join after they have been placed you wont see them. I hope this helps Rgds LoK

Hello all Ignoring OP for a moment, lets assume that what was stated was true. That the lead dev's truely didn't care about Arma. If this is the case, what changes? Nothing. Arma has been quite well looked after all these years and if the devs are not bothered then I'm still happy as i'm getting adequate support, regular patches and DLC's I wish all devs cared as little as Bohemia about their games.
