    Hello there IFL was an arma mod that went standalone, albeit with the current engine. It also inherited many of arma's legacy *ahem* peculiarities. The new RV engine looks far more polished in an AAA way but I still think it will have it's own feel which many consolians may not appreciate of be able to cope with. Ie, I *think* it will be a far smoother experience, but will still have that "sim" feel, rather than the fluidity of say BF£. rgds LoK ps the £ was a miss-type but, I actually think it's rather apt.

    Hello there I keep away on the whole from other players. I only attack if i feel threatened. I don't trust anyone enough to risk teaming up no matter my loot or lack thereof. I'm a bit of a wild cat in those aspects. Just one with opposable thumbs and guns. Rgds LoK

    Hello there I think "illegal" is a little to strong a term, but they are probably frowned upon. But, it is interesting that some chaps are picking up the dayz mod and moulding it for their own tastes. ie Lingor etc. For me, its what the whole Arma experience is about. I do however, understand the devs reluctance for this to happen. rgds LoK

    Hello there It's nice to see admins responding quickly and explaining bans. The OP used non legit stuff and was kicked/banned. Fair enough. The admins offering to reinstate the player is a great use of "common sense". Check those logs, Remember not everyone memorises the loot table and wikis.     Hello there I don't know if it's in the current build but the bicycle is my transport of choice in DAYZ and pvp based ARMA2 missions. Silent and fast. It's saved my life numerous times and has had me being accused of teleporting due to its turn radius and speed. Motorcycles are great but the bike beats it hands down IMHO. rgds LoK

    Hello there Just to clarify you have 2 different steam accounts and two seperate versions of A2CO or a variant thereof? FYI AFAIK you cant share copies or accounts. Everything needs to be separate. rgds LoK

    Hello there Just to let you know custom skins are a normal occurrence in Arma2/DAYZ. Somewhere in your server config you can linit the file size. Set to >0kb to stop any custom face. It's nothing to worry about. Rgds LoK

    Hello there, Bio? A mistype? or am I missing something? Regardless, I'm sure the popularity of DAYZ will have Bohemia and Battleeye looking at making *some* changes to their systems, whether they're implemented or not is another thing. If DAYZ goes standalone it may well have bespoke anti cheat/script features. Wailing over an obviously evident issue (not aimed at anyone in particular) doesn't really help, rather posting tickets describing issues. Let's wait and see what happens. rgds LoK PS. VBS1/2 are used by other defence forces and military analysts btw not just the US. FYI.

    Hello there The many version differences are a pain. How does this not affect my Arma play though? I usually use the latest beta with a2 and have no problems connecting to almost any server. @Vitdom, your avatar take me back to my 20's :) rgds LoK

    Hello there It's a shorter path to leetdom if you just kill someone who has done the hard work collecting gear. Once more mechanics such as base building etc are in game the pure PVP on any and everyone will lessen to a degree. rgds LoK

    Hello there Everyone sees them. Some servers turn of the ability to lighten load. There are some issues with them in the A2 engine and Nvidia users. If you MUST use one keep the file size as low as possible. On the Bis forums there are links to hundreds of skins. rgds LoK

    Hello there IMHO highpowered / OP weapons are fine. But, ammo for rare weapons should be ....rare. Thermal scopes should need batteries (al la A.C.E mod) which should be low charge and also something to scavenge for. .22 / shotgun shells should be more common and milspec ammo rarer. Mechanics like this keep the leet gear in game for those who want it and makes owning the gun more prestigious, without having a glut of them on every server and makes snipers and night vision owners the feared opponents they should be. rgds LoK

    Hello there I can see where the company could have been a bit annoyed by the "threat" to go public, but if they indeed did advertise a service which is up immediately, if I was them I would have made a "gesture of goodwill" and if not a refund (which gets a potentially troublesome customer off their back and would most likely filter to the forums, which is nice cheap advertisisng) but they could have offered an free extension of service. Their offered service was not equal to that which was advertised. A mistake on their side, which they have apparently acknowledged. Its foolish of them not to refund/credit the customer. Rgds LoK

    Hello there This is the good and bad thing about 3rd person viewing. If one only uses 1st person third person players can have a significant advantage over you. Many arma and IFL servers disable this. But, DAYZ is a different breed of game so I wonder if there is an issue? rgds LoK
