    Hello there I wouldn't mind seeing more variety in all modular systems. Now, some of the examples we have seen are a little extreme and are very uncommon but extended mags, beavertails, different iron sights and indeed optics etc etc for all weapons that commonly use them would be nice and would add more to the individuality of the weapons. even if just visually cosmetic. I know I prefer some weapon sights over others, not due to their "stats" (which isnt something I personally approve of as i find stats actually limit folks individuality as people run with the most effective kit over that which they like) but purely how they function and how they sit in my field of vision. A more customized weapon, whether a .22 bullpup conversion or a tricked out sporting .45 would make the weapon and indeed the character "mine". Rgds LoK

    Hello there Dont forget this is fully stripped, when you commonly field strip it its far fewer pieces. There's few that would break down, as in this pic, the magazine for example. In reality its four or 5 parts. Its my fave. Rgds LoK PS this isnt a good 1911

    Not really, youd still have to implement a fourth state to differentiate between rolled up and down and also carry over damage etc. Also, everything is just ordinary work. Painting the Forth Bridge is just ordinary work L

    Hello there Ive never been to NWAF. Ive never been KoS'd (although i have been punched on sight) Ive never knowingly encountered a Hacker in SA. Ive never found a machine gun/assault rifle. Ive been given an SKS though. Ive never seen a hellicrash site, either in mod or in SA. I almost always die due to zombies. Steak has also "accidently" killed me each time ive played dayz with him.     Hello there Chernarus+ lives in its own little universe somewhat parallel to ours and that of Arma. So, expect the unexpected and the unexplained. Like me, Cherno+ can be whatever and wherever you want it to be. Even if Dean says its all modeled on the town of Slough, it really doesnt matter, you can pretend its the US or the UK or Ukraine.   11. Hello there I had not read that. Splendid stuff. Ive been a long "complainer" about "clunky" movement even though I do agree with R on many points in his post. But remember ones rig also has a lot to do with it. The more FPS one has the smoother the whole system feels, so while there is some refining to be made in the way the system handles interactions is also partly down to how ones PC handles dayz.     Cannibalism - Lets make it USEFUL

    Hello there All in game mechanics are planned out, rather than just dumped in game for teh lulz, so expect stuff like cannibalism to play an interesting role rather than a "hurhur hur I eats people" shock tactic. That said, all ideas and thoughts are welcomes and are looked at even if we stay quiet. It will be interesting to see where it goes, although Im surprised at the less strident backlash of cannibalism to defecation. Strange what people accept. Rgds LoK

    shemagh: why and an easy way to implement it

    I just used that one because it was the first one I found. Now, as for the shemagh going into standalone, that would take a little work, they can't just bring it right over from the mod because clothing no longer works like that. They would have to make a new object, same thing with almost everything else in SA vs. Mod. EDIT: Thats not exactly a clothing but you get the point. Hello there It wasnt just a texture, but also a different model from a "bare headed man" too. In the SA there is a different way to model as the hats etc are not part of the original mesh rather a stand alone mesh. Everything in game is *easy* to implement but does it work and does it work well? Will there be clipping issues with other items? Will the mesh deform correctly in all stances? Theres a whole host of issues to consider before implementing an item. That said I can see them making an appearance but its not a case of "they in teh mod y no in SA?" Rgds LoK

    Steyr AUG: Use the A3 and not the A1 version

    Hello there Dont forget that the original AUG design is from the 60s, rail mountings are far more common across the board now, CoD or not. Infact most "modern" weapons go back at least 20 years so upgrading them with new furniture is a way of cutting down costs and keeping interoperability. Id like to see NATO and other rail systems included. Rgds LoK

    Pants Up/In the boots.

    Hello there If I wear combats in real life i blouse my pants into my socks which come just above the boots. I dont need anything to assist ant they never pop out and most combats either come with a lace or strap to tie em down. I dunno about trendy cargo pants and how they work though. Rgds LoK
  18. Hello there It sound like the game might me losing its "foucs" and thats why what appears to be at the front might not actually be what the PC thinks is there. Try what smasht says and also once windowed ALT tab to make sure your DAYZ is foremost. Rgds LoK

    What can I expect with DayZ now?

    Hello there As to what has changed check Cabooses link. Player numbers? I dont know off hand, but the player base is healthy. Community changes? Well, yes. The forum is a very fluid thing so many old time forum members have drifted away as well as some of the mods, but theyve been replaced with new blood. (nomnomnom). The forum is more organised now IMHO but that may or may not appeal. YMMV. Near future? Well vehicles are making it into dev tweets so thats going to be major. No ETA though. How "good" is the game? thats too subjective Im afraid. A billion out of 10? who can tell? Rgds LoK
  20. Hello there I can see a lot more Arma (ACE) type stuff making it in game later on as it *should* be fairly easy to implement similar med systems. I too see where OP is coming from, although im not sure I agree on that particular approach. But, all ideas are warmly welcomed! Keep at it! Rgds LoK
  21. Hello there, id go for that option too, especially as you get ALL the original game's content/campaigns etc and all those hi res textures and sound files too. There is a reason why those "free" versions are free, they are tasters and are not great quality compared to the final product. Rgds LoK

    Hello there Thats unlikely due to the way the map is created and how the engine handles it. Its all magic and pixies to me, but R did once chat with me about it and the consensus way back then was that they wouldnt physically "enlarge" the Chernarus play area. This may have changed but I doubt we will see Chernarus+ expand massively into the random zone. Rgds LoK

    Hello there Obviously if it were made into an island one would sculpt the map edges and rethink the borderlines otherwise it wouldnt make sense. Nobody would condone a perfectly rectangular island, you silly muffin. Rgds LoK
