Hello there Do not expect a massive transformation from the existing mod to the SA. That isn't to say that there wont be many many fixes and improvements, but the OP is mainly complaining about some of the engines inherent issues, rather than issues "caused" by the mod. Hopefully the dev team can sort issues like AI collision etc, but there's bound to be some legacy issues. Is it worth playing the game again? Well, why not try for yourself? You own the game and can simply, download the mod. Install the thing and give it a whirl. Will the SA be the panacea of all gaming? Who knows? You'll find out when we do. Rgds LoK

Hello there The game/mod, to me, is what I want to make of it at any particular time/mood. I too am not a person who want everything handed to me on a plate, but then again I'm not really a fan of zombies (I know, I'm a heretic :) ) The mix of my favourite sim and persistence of my character is what I love. It harks a little back to the best OFP campaign where each mission left you with the kit you could scavange and gave a sense of real character progression. Dean somehow managed to get the balance "right", although individual aspects had been covered by previous mods, hence the virality of DAYZ over other mods. Sometimes i'm in a pvp mood and other times (and mostly) I'm in a coop pve mood. The beauty of arma is that it lets you "play your way" and that feature really comes through in the mod. Those "easy" servers don't appeal to me, so I simply won't play on 'em as I won't play on any sever with settings that don't suit me. My preferred experience is towards the original feel of DAYZ where most folk were inherently helpful with a scattering of Bandidts (who were in a definite minority) and it was us vs the zeds/environment and the occasional nutter. Hello there some weapons have 2 sight settings. One for distance and one for CQB. You need to find which key you have assigned to toggle your optics. Rgds LoK

Also, why not use dayz commander or suchlike to automate the task?

Hello there Read all the appropriate stickies and check the info at the BE site. There's 2 main reasons for a GB. 1. you or someone using your PC scripted 2. you or someone using your PC downloaded a key stealer disguised as another program (a DAYZ optimiser for example) If it's a non legit ban BE will overturn it. Hello there Arma2 does have a habit of streaming a lot of textures from the disk as far as I'm aware. Have you tried turning down the texture quality? Also, as you said setting some things higher than one would imagine can have the opposite expected effect. Play around with shadow settings too. Lastly, for now, make sure post processing is off. Hello there Not to be disparaging, but any admin who would pick a total stranger to bestow SA rights upon would not be an person I would want hosting any server I spent time on. Now, there may be servers out there that need folk to keep an eye on things and report back to the appropriate people when something hinky occours and that might be a place to start. It's good to aim high, but be prepared to start a little lower. Rgds LoK
