Fraggle does have a point. Now, as long as the reasoning is explained then I think having "english only" servers can work. I bet though that if a foreign language speaker did join Fraggle's server and did his best to communicate that frags most likely would let him/her stay on. It's when folk blanket ban a group of people because of the actions of a few bad apples that i disagree with. L

Hello there Thanks for the info. It's always nice to be updated "in forum" I've skimmed through the preceeding posts and hope that no playstyle is hampered by any changes albeit bandit/survivor/solo/team etc etc. Although, I am damn sure any change which "breaks" the game for some folk will no doubt generate a fork where the "offending" changes are reversed or indeed would be removed. I'm not being a fanboi, but I have faith in those pushing the mod forward. If the mod gets to a point I dont enjoy it, I'll simply find a fork or a server that has the requisite changes or runs an older version. There are no problems, only opportunities. Rgds LoK

Hello there Scripters, like germs, will spread wherever they have an easy time. The more difficult it is to play on a server the less they will bother, so whitelisting and passwording your server are just two easy barriers to stop them. Having a server is a vocation and not for the faint hearted. Rgds LoK -

hello there I will be using both. I may drop A2 once A3 is mature and the main mods have been converted. I'll play the Mod for the customisability and the SA for the new experience. I already have a Standalone arma2 based game I play called Iron Front. Which is a WW2 based game. Like the SA(at first) it is non moddable and whilst i adore the game i miss the customisability i get with the native Arma2 engine. So, I still play I44 (the arma2 WW2 mod) when I want an experience more tailored to my tastes. In short, I'll play 'em all. Rgds LoK -
Surely custom mods are fine if they use the bis key system? That system means that only mods approved by the server can be used and the "key" ensures that the mod is not "fiddled" with to stop cheats. Rgds L

Hello there I think the game itself reflects the mental attitude of the player. Whilst I do like the though of consequences, I don't see how a decent mechanic could be constructed to fit this game. In a "Call of Cthuhlu"esque game, mental anguish would be mandatory. If someone can come up with an interesting way which doesn't just penalise bandits, then I'll be interested indeed. Rgds LoK

Hello there Until recently (and from these boards) I had never heard of "the walking dead" as a franchise. I dont know if it's a film book or mini series (I'm guessing a "lost" type serial). So, I think yes Dayz would exist without it. Zombies have been around for a loooooong time. see A.E.Poe/Lovecraft etc (and theyre not that old) Rgds LoK -
