Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
OrLoK replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Hello there In my everyday life I wear alot of military style clothing, and the extra pockets, pouches etc really help with my real life loadout. I wonder if anyone has thought about "cargo pants". I could fit Fraggle in mine. Rgds LoK I keep asking him, but he say's he's not into that kind of thing. -

A bit of a necro thread, do you not think? -
Hello there Sorry to be a gloomy gus, but another Q. What measures are in place to stop the same thing happening to this list as happened to the CBL? Rgds LoK

Kan I haz axess to Beta plz? -
i'm not a fan of the sticky system crouch and lean is my requirements. it would be nice to dynamically be able to peer over/weapon rest on whatever you are behind whatever the height. So many ledges are just too high or just too low to rest my weapon on. That's a real pain. L

Nice map, nice system but really takes away from the game imho. What's the fun if you know where everything will be? To me, exploration is half the fun. Different strokes I suppose. Rgds LoK

Hello there You really need to put the server name in the title if there's the smallest chance the admin will see it. Do they have a forum you can appeal on? Rgds LoK

Arma does prefer XP, although I'm unsure as to how much. It will run a little smoother on Xp rather than 7. Also, my low spec netbook flies now it's on 7 rather than xp. IMHO, unless you have any legacy progs that win 7 hates then move to win 7. You could always dual boot? Rgds LoK

Fraggle is a fan of discharged sea-men in his naval base. He like's sailors of all kinds. Yes, the ability to navigate by the stars has been in game since the start. I would like to see shadows on ones analogue watch face so one can locate north. Rgds LoK Ps i edited your topic to be a little more helpful.

OrLoK replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There'll obviously be a sub forum dedicated to me also. L -
The point is that currency works because it is redeemable for things people actually need and that redemption of currency is garanteed by the government. In any post apocalypse (or even a localised disaster) no goods are secured, everything can be looted, stolen or killed for and no currency is secured. You can make an arbitrary government like a WarZ style cash shop but that would ruin what DayZ is meant to be. That said, I think that if loot is added that has no discernable use but can be carried in unlimited amounts (I like the idea of cigarettes, prison currency) and the ability to properly secure an area and store goods some servers will try their very best to centralize goods and equipment. To build some kind of market town. It will be interesting to see what happens when some servers never take to currency and stay wild while others thrive because there is a form of civilisation. You have my Muffins.

Over here twinkies are not all that well known. Woulde they be well known/sold in an eastern block state? If not then can we have marathon bars and opal fruits?

What's the toh night like, for those of us who have not seen it?
-
Ahhh, I assumed you meant a keyboard pad (nostromo/g13 etc) rather than a x-box controller. hmm. not my speciality I'm afraid, but this post will bump your thread. So, i'm helping in a small way.

One has the choice of remapping keys in arma to suit the gamepad's default or (if they are not recognised) remapping the gamepad to suit arma's keys using it's own softeware.
-
Hello there I'm a gamepad user too. No issues here remapping. Which one do you have? rgds LoK

If society collapsed, most of the griefers wouldn't be around after a few weeks anyway. You can't plug a mouse into real life.

New player - What do you think of my strategy?
OrLoK replied to indalcecio's topic in New Player Discussion
<----- city rat also. -
I'm all about my water sports, but that's probably better left for a different forum... I like the ideas around simple decontamination of foodstuffs and drinkables, as to stills, if you had the resources would you not just use it to make moonshine? Or is that my inner alcoholic talking? I like the idea of dead animals contaminating water sources very much indeed. L

I did not bother to watch, but get the jist of it through the other posts. Sniping / killing new players seems a little pointless to me. But griefers like to grief. It's an odd world L

Until a stable society were set up, it's going to have to be the barter system. cash is an artificial concept. L
