Hello there LG TV's are nice as monitors. Mine gets blurry though through my HDMI port. My rig is an ooooold I7 930@2.8ghz a 7850 and a 7870 (thanks Kichi (not b@ker but Kichi) 24gm Ram (I had an opportunity to but another 12gb (at a slightly slower mhz) at a hugely reduced price. Old RAM is cheap RAM. it still runs everything I need it to run at an acceptable rate. Arma 3 can be a chore if I add in any decent mods or in large battles. but for my CAD work its fine. I will need to upgrade soon if I want to keep up, but who knows when? Rdgs LoK

The Psychology of Understanding Alpha

Hello there Ive bought into several Early Access games and even I get irritated by the lack of new "stuffs" in some games. When one spends a lot of time at the keyboard the time does seem to drag. Also, it can be frustrating to see if other games come out in the meantime as they often appear to be more *complete*. BUT, I make sure I know what a project is before I buy into it. Everytime I dont research I get burnt. (I still mash that "buy" button too quickly sometimes), so on the whole I know Im going to have to wait a while to get a return on my cash. I see it as an investment for the future when I may not have as much spare pennies. Dont forget those games though that purport to be in a beta or whatever but are almost "gold", just advertised as such to get sales before a full public release. I can see why folk get grumpy, I just think a little more investigation on their behalf would reap dividends. lastly, people LOVE a conspiracy and to be able to uncover a scam is something many would love to do. Hello there Dont forget that some of the most important parts of a PC are the parts you use to interact with it. Mouse/keyboard/monitor. Dont scrimp on those. Get a good quality PSU too. give us an estimate of what you have to spend. Rgds LoK

Hello there All playstyles *are* valid, but if more reliance is placed on survival needs, then that will obviously have an impact on those who want to gear up in 20 mins to go pew pew. I said nothing about guiding players. Rgds LoK

Hello there Imagine DAYZ as a car you've bought in for restoration. The Mechanics are going to work on the engine and "moving parts" to make the car actually function, whilst the Upholsterers are taking away that shoddy interior and seats to re cover or replace the ripped up panels and seats. Both jobs are important and both jobs on the whole are separate. The efficient way to do it is all at once rather than waiting for the chassis to be built and then do the upholstery. Does that make sense or am I rambling? Rgds LoK -
Hello there Dont forget that without any advertising DAYZ went viral which accounts for the crazy sales figures. I dont think we will hit these numbers again with the PC release but expect active numbers to go up and down as we hit various milestones and as the gameplay develops into the niche game the devs always wanted. As more survivalesque stuff hits expect the pure PvPer player numbers to drop for example. Rgds LoK

Hello there Lets put the multi account/muling to bed for this thread. It has been an issue in other mmo's and will most likely be an issue in future games. I Dont see it having a vast effect in a game like DAYZ but im sure there's folk who'll work out ways to uber exploit it. Point being, it deserves it's own thread if it's to be discussed in detail, which is out of the scope of this thread although it is a valid point. lets move on. Rgds LoK

Hello there As you are UK try PC Specialist http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ Ive bought both high end (albeit several years ago!) systems from them as well as entry level systems on behalf of family memebers. They're superb. You choose the bits, or have them assist you (or pick a pre built system) and they'll put it together plus they'll do a burn in test to ensure everything's working ok. Not the fastest to go from "click" to your front door, but damn reliable. Rgds LoK

Hello there Everything we do that involves electronics is spied upon. Its part of life now, it doesnt bother me unduly. Its always happened. EG. Back in the 90's Boots (the Chemist) sent us a reminder letter that we had a friends birthday coming up. How did they know? Theyd been monitoring our credit card transactions and noted that we always bought a "Gift" type item around a certain date. If you feel paranoid about Win 10 turn off all the cortana stuff etc and youll most likely be about as "safe" as you were with win7. TBH your mobile phone and facebook tells most organisations all they need to know about you. Rdgs LoK -
Hello there I too play mic less. But I do expect to get killed. I do waggle allot though, but the new generation dont know its ancient heritage. I also feel bad when I kill an enemy whether they fire at me or not. Rgds LoK

Hello there You have looked at the win7 power settings? That can stop the system sleeping. The battery just needs replacing IMHO. Rgds LoK -

Hello there My win 7 upgrade actually was far less painless compared to my Clean install, but I agree one should be allowed to to either a clean or an upgrade especially while its free, but im sure there's some reasoning behind it. Rgds LoK -
Hello there Obviously im aware of the Cyrillic alphabet but I have a, perhaps foolish, question. Is there more than one Cyrillic alphabet? Ie different variations for different countries or like our Alphabet is it "universal"? Rgds LoK

Hello there I live in the 70s, not quite the 60's but I dont think that would work. Interesting concept though. As to mushrooms, well as a teenager I may have tried them but i certainly never inhaled. Rgds LoK
