Hello there As to the back story, I think analysing it in minutiae and comparing / contrasting things with the map is a bit of a dead end. This isn't reality, so things won't match up. If a plant is too overgrown or a ship is too rusty, then it's merely an error. There's no conspiracy or hidden meaning. It's not an episode of "Lost". Hello there I did dream of Dayz last night. I was on a hill side overlooking a sprawling city (i remember thinking "gosh, thats good for the RV engine". I then shot two survivors and stole their chopper put it into auto hover 30 feet off the ground and bailed out to troll them. Looted their gear (one chap was bugged and I couldnt get his A50) and snuck off into the city, where there were a bunch of AI civilians (which I gunned down) and set up a sniping spot and killed a bunch more survivors who had AI soldiers under their command using an m4 with aimpoint and being surprised how effective it was. Then as per dreams it started going weird including martial arts, deadly game shows and 1890's stempunk Imperial British Army and US Confederates fighting with airships and aircraft, and me having difficulties finding a holster for a looted side arm. Oh, before I do the M9 replaced the good old 1911 in the US Army did it not? But I believe it's being (or has been) phased out now. Hello there I *can* understand why folk jump to these opinions though. Believe it or not we are not blind fanbois. From a few stills or the leaks, I can understand folk jumping to conclusions but thats what the forums are for (inc. twitter/reddit etc) to find out the proper info. no one. What I said is a continuation from your quoted sentence. It's very very common NOT to use brand new original assets as it cuts down on development time. Also what one see's on screen is only the tip of an iceberg. The SA is, to me, comparable to a game built using the UDK. There's a common base but while we can argue on the "game from scratch" semantics it pretty much *is* from scratch. Rgds LoK

it's also far from being just a "mod" Edit: FYI I'm involved with a few other SA games being developed as well as large A2 mods. Dayz is coming on in leaps and bounds. The time it's taken to get this far is IMHO very short indeed. L
