Hello there Some of you are posting in a way that's going to get you in trouble. You know who you are. Reign it in a tad if you wish to continue to post. As to player numbers on the decline. Absolutely expected. Nothing to worry about. All the claims of "dead" game etc etc are ill informed but there's no point explaining the reasoning as it wont be taken in. Anyhoo, be critical if you wish but make it constructive and dont be rude about others or their work etc. Rdgs LoK

A little question .. why MP5 and UMP and not Bizon SMG ?
OrLoK replied to kataro's topic in General Discussion
Hello there Im a fan of the Bizon and hope to se it. But as to why, there is a great post elsewhere by the devs explaining why we have the weapons we have and although it seems counter intuitive it is more "realistic" than one expects. Rdgs LoK -
Damn BI. *ALL* their fault.

They are a threat if they're remorseless and in big numbers. One false move and you are food. L

Hello there I'd like ingame music, but it would need to be player generated (player instruments) or via radios or Walkmen type devices. Rgds LoK

Hello there PvM, to me is a very simple leap, although not an established norm. As has been pointed out there are no official plans to actively implement any "Safe Zones". rdgs LoK

Hello there Whilst it is *possible* now to do such naughty things, we dont know what issues are caused when doing so. One can easily stuff A1 maps into A3 for example but with tonnes of rpt errors, graphical glitches and other bugs the same would likely apply with DAYZ and any other map. But remember, we are still only at a relatively early stage and as we go along in the dev process the DAYZ fork will differ more and more from it's roots and while it may well be possible now, we simply dont know what the future will hold. Also, dont forget, pirate servers wont really have as high QA as anything official. That said, Im hoping for the pre existing maps to be allowed to be ported (pending official go ahead from bot BI *and* the original creators) bit I still believe it will take some work to do correctly. Its an argument you have taken out of context. L

Thread Yet again cleaned. Petty bickering will not be tolerated. Heed the warning of my Lord and Master, Boneboys. Get back on "topic"

Hello there I believe (I may be hugely wrong) that the original intention was to beable to shoehorn existing maps in once modding is enabled but with some obvious code tweaking, rather like Arma1 maps in Arma3. However, this was before the SA "proper" so whilst i imagine it will be similar, it *may* well be more complex than the A1 to A3 ports, which while doable was certainly not just a case of copying over a few files and references. If it's allowed I'd like to see maps from the Arma 3 franchise (both fan and official) make it into DAYZ but AFAIK it's not "confirmed". Also, as they are different games it may not be initially "allowed". I seem to remember ToH and Arma combos were initially not tolerated, so it's something to bear in mind. RGds LoK

thing are getting a little too personal, lets tone it down a notch. An argument my well be ridiculous but lets keep things civil and let the loons go over the top. just a quick fyi at everyone. L

Hello there The devs dont *owe* us any info. It is nice (and the generally expected norm do do so) and they do keep us regularly informed on the games progress. Development may seem *slow* to you but in fact its tripping along nicely. We are only halfway through development, if your patience is wearing thin at this stage you may well be better of having a long break. Nothing wrong with that. I come from a generation where contact and the huge flow of info from developers just did not happen and the only snippets of info were from the occasional magazine article, think yourself lucky you can commune with the devs the way we can. Pure game dev takes time. Hook that up with the red tape of actually running a business and that time drastically increases. One has to take a the wider world view and not compare apples to oranges. Hello there You expected the devs to make a game specifically for you? DAYZ was and always has been promoted as a niche game. I think you'll find most game devs make the game "they" want. Rdgs LoK

Hello there I think one should be able to use these items on one's self. Perhaps with a penalty of some sort but it should be possible. Rgds LoK

hello there We have to remember the DAYZ Mod was not the end result the Devs wanted, although it did appeal to the masses. I think many folk are expecting DAYZ to be more of a "Battle Royale jump in and PvP with added Zeds" sort of experience. That's not what DAYZ was ever about, although one can have that type of experience if one chooses. DAYZ was never community driven although obviously user/community feedback and input was and *is* valuable. DAYZ is DEV driven. This doesnt mean the devs are blind or deaf to our input, but they have their own singular idea of what DAYZ should be and this is what we are heading towards. Modding will be the thing many folk turn to in the future. Me? I want a survival sim, leaning towards realism with added infected and the occasional PvP. So, for me, DAYZ is on track. Rgds LoK
