It's called the 30-06 "thirty ought six" and it's very common. It's the go to hunting cartridge for deer and stuff for a lot of people. Maybe even the most popular for deer and other big things, not squirrels or birds. Just because the round is expensive does not mean it is rare. You might still be able to buy milsurp stuff, idk, but I've never been in the market for that because I like well made domestic ammo. Edit: There are enfields that shoot 7.62x51, BUT NOT .308. Ishapore made them. Also, there were some fancy pants enfields made in asia a few years back. I wonder whatever happened to them? I didn't have 1-2k lying around for a super fancy enfield.

Woa woa woa. I do like this idea of LRS on mosins because it is realistic. I'd also like to see super slick aftermarket stocks and those mag systems which give you detachable mags. Honestly, I laugh at most of the world and their gun laws. Smell that free air? You don't. Czechoslovakia knows what I'm talking about. Also, is the Amphibia S really that expensive? I mean, aside from the cost that the mystique and gun laws have brought, is it that expensive? It's just a modified Ruger Mark II. Rugers are like $600 tops. How much can a can cost? On that note, I'd like to see optics for every rifle without fail. It's a rifle? It gets optics. Smgs/pistols/shotguns not so much. Edit: Actually, I'd like to see optics for carbines/smgs too. The ruger 10/22 should get optics, and maybe even some for the mp5. If it can hit a man at 100 yards, it gets optics!

So my buddies and I all spawned in some town on the east coast. Everything was looted. We all ran inland. Every building on the way was looted. We found a town. Entirely looted. We all starved to death. The end. I'm not a fan of this whole "sever hopping is bad" mantra. In the mod, things respawned, with the exception of helicopter crashes. Now, I'm not saying combat log, or any nonsense like this, but until loot respawn is reintroduced, I'll server hop all I please. And that's why you're on a pedestal, because you've deemed yourself above that, and decided that is low.

im not sure upcoming features are "positive" to the game

As I have learned, Chernarus is not the Czech republic. First, it uses the cyrillic alphabet. Edit: I had this beautifully worded response written out and it was all ruined. I'll make this brief: Deathlove, regarding the racists in Detroit, that's why there was a great "flight", especially after the race riots of '68. We all know what the real problem is, and it isn't "racists". First and second world don't refer to economic status, but to alignment with NATO or the warsaw pact. Crazy spider, you fail social studies. -
I severely doubt it's such a thing. In other news, until loot respawn is implemented (heard it was, I've yet to verify in person), there's no point in joining populated servers, unless you like starving to death. Is it cold up there on that pedestal?

You sir have my $30.

I purchased mine on the internet. I'm sure eastern europeans could do the same thing. The g3 isn't exactly the american gun of choice either. To be honest, it's sold on an airsoft website by an airsoft manufacturer, but the build quality is so amazing (thick machined hardened steel, with a durable thick finish), I wouldn't hesistate to put it on the real thing. It's odd, because I've seen many mounts meant for firearms which are far inferior in quality. Edit: Looking this up, it's apparently aluminum, not steel. I could have sworn it said steel on the packaging. I wonder if it changed, or if my memory is crap? Probably the latter.
-
I purchased a low profile hardened steel mount for the G3 for $20. It's very simple to install with a metric allen wrench set, and can be done in less than 5 minutes. Why not include rails as separate objects in some cases from optics and both are needed to install optics? It certainly makes more sense than just mounting the SKS, which needs to be drilled and tapped for a side plate. But yes, if I have no optics, I don't want a rail, it looks better without one.

Check this out. Katanas are an intricate way of trying to deal with making a weapon out of pig iron by spreading out the impurities. If you could smelt properly, this wouldn't be necessary. Also, they're not meant to stand up to metal armored opponents. They reached their high point in the edo period. The 1600s-1800s and they're still using pig iron. Just consider that. I'd like a proper military arming sword.

Why no desert eagles in .357? The round exists and it'd be faster between shots than the .357. Why not a coonan though instead? Eh? Eh? Even more rare and unlikely. :D Edit: I'd make a coonan my sidearm in game.

Why do we need a blood test kit anyway? Can't we just take two samples and see if they agglutinate? Besides, rhesus factor negatives only make the antibodies if they've been exposed to it.

A very common still in use round. You're welcome. Now if they choose not to include the .32 ACP, you're SOL.

See earlier about stainless steel nonsense. Katanas are weak, as demonstrated here earlier. They exist to balance out the impurities in PIG IRON, and are primarily peace time weapons used for dueling against unarmored opponents and are not true weapons of war. Deal with it. I'd like a proper double bladed longsword. No movie props, a carbon steel hand forged beauty. Right now I settle for an MKII. Museums smusheums, every ren-fair has a few good racks of decent swords.

7.62x51 is for a M14 7.62x54R is for a Mosin–Nagant
agouti replied to GrimAlex23344's topic in Suggestions
7.62 works because in the western world the only guns that still use .30 cal for military stuff use the 7.62Nato. The m43 (7.62x39) is warsaw. The .30-06 isn't used anymore. The x54r is russian. The .308 is very very close to the 7.62x51, but has more powder and is shaped ever so slightly differently. They can be compatible, but aren't always. The remington 700 comes in many flavors, why not see several in game? I'm partial to the .30-06 round, call me crazy. Edit: The Nagant can take .32 S&W rounds. Which also suck. -
No, it shouldn't. These's nothing inherently more reliable about a device which is manually actuated vs. a device which uses recoil or trapped gases. No offense, but if you don't know about guns, why bother stating things? Instead, learn about guns. You have the totality of human knowledge at your finger tips.

The gun control act of 1968 forbids the importation of the svt-40, but why can't these be imported as a curio/relic? G43 too. Fuck Johnson that communist bastard.
-
Firepower man. ARs are damned accurate and can hold 30+ rounds, and has very little recoil. Ppshs are also rare here, but garands are not. I had a buddy in highschool who!bought one for 800. Mosins go for about 100 and Lee Enfields for like 300-600. Mausers are also fairly common. Dude you're tripping. These guns are not super rare, with the exception of the fully automatics. Do you even go to gunstores?

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)

How is the radom hunter different from the various saiga rifles or the tabuk sniper? "sniper" -
USSR sells SVT-40 to canada which can be bought for $300. That is cheaper than a russian sks in the USA. Your arguments are invalid. Tokarev pistol too. Tokarev pistols are common everywhere, look up the "tee-bore" -even Pakistan agrees. Privi Partisan sells 7.92x33 kurz. Who wants a garand when you have the svt-40? All of the garand's short-comings were addressed with the m-14. Which will be in the game. It's crazy everyone says these things belong in a museum. Aside from the stg-44, which is illegal nearly anywhere and worth 20k+, all these guns are commonly owned by collectors, which is to say, your average joe blow. Maybe not if you live in a socialist shithole. In New Zealand, home of the native Rocket, you can buy chinese made forged receiver m14s for half the price of the springfield variety. Bwahahahaha. Also, many world war 2 rifles are more accurate than SOME of today's guns. Especially when proper bedded. Have fun with your minute of chest on an AK.

Smokeless powder is nitrolized cellulose, which is flash powder, and another thing I can't recall. This is made from essentially exposing cellulose to nitric acid. This is not black powder. Do not put smokeless powder into a black powder gun. It can't handle it. The powder burns faster. Grain size and composition of powder can influence rate of burn, which needs to fit the length of the barrel. Powders are made so all of the powder, more or less exactly, it used by the end of the barrel. Excess barrel length does not create greater accuracy, but it can slow down a bullet if the powder was already burned early on in the barrel. I had a a converter cartridge which allowed me to fire .32 auto ammo out of a rifle. The length of the barrel slowed down the pistol ammo so that I couldn't even puncture a powerade bottle. But it did thump it. Note: I looked it up, the flashpowder is gelatinized in an alcohol-ether mixture, and stabilized with amyl alcohol. There you go. Why can't this be made after an apocalypse? The source of the cellulose is just cotton. I got good marks in orgo, why not? :P

It looks like magpul is what rifletech claims to be. They used to have a muzzlebrake which they claimed had the ability to increase accuracy by 600% (jokes upon jokes at gun forums like 10 years ago)! No wonder I'm such a magpul fanboy! Who knew the ar was actually a POS until magpul came along? Magpul for president! (Irl I actually am a magpul fanboy, but this is crazy.) . In all honesty it looks me a while to notice the ar's accuracy problems in this game because as soon as I got an ar, I'd just outfit it with magpul parts because I AM a magpul fanboy. My buddies were all wow this gun sucks (the ar), and I was all, eh, mine's okay I said open your eyes, not stop smoking. I used to be a spotter/driver for my buddy with tanks in project reality. I couldn't see crap, I had to open my eyes. But yes, the only way to remove beer goggles is to stop drinking.
-
I got 2-3 inch groupings with a 5 shot group at 100 yards with a bonestock Yugo 59/66 sks without optics from a bench rest. Clearly the mechanical accuracy of the rifle should be this. I am not a soldier, was just some 17 year old kid when I did this. Contrary to popular belief, shooting guns is not magic. In fact, they're often made to do exactly as you'd imagine them to do: put bullets in a particular area, that's what makes them guns. Am I talking in circles? Only to get people to stop thinking in circles. My point is, look up the MOA of real guns. Implement this into the game. Put in sway for standing, not this retarded dispersion/cone of fire. If every bullet fired at a man-sized target at 100 yards with an m4 is not hitting the target, take off your beer goggles. and open your eyes from the reefer or otherwise you're a blind-man. Side note: this is a joke, even heavily inebriated I can still hit my targets. At 100 yards guns really do shoot themselves. Edit: sometimes I do miss the clay pidgeon laying on the ground, but not by so much that if it were a man's chest I'd miss it.

How the hell did you guys even try the new patch?
agouti replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I'm done for the night trying to play. I wasted hours yesterday and hours today. First on the experimental, and when that ran out of servers, the stable, which had the same problems. Also, from my limited observation, they are in fact a child, or at least act like one. ;) But Weedz, if you flip out, many people do not understand idignation, and to them rage is rage, regardless. I blame the feminizing society. -
Why The Distinction Between Civilian/Military Weapons Is Bad, And You Should Feel Bad
agouti replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Military contracts used to be awarded to who made the best requested rifle after extensive testing and forcing multiple useful and adequate rifles against each other until only one remained. Handguns too. Any when many people refer to not wanting military weapons, I get the impression they do mean AR-15s, and AKs. Probably europeans. -
