An honest question about whether there are more steps back then forward.

We got a new town or two. We have faster zombies that can outrun players even if you don't have a weapon equipped. We have zombies that can one-shot you if they hit the head. Police stations. I will let you decide if they are steps forward or backwards. -
I doubt this is true. Typically when I get shot, I am more determined to get back in and seek revenge. Of course, half the time I die is when the kids do something and distract me, and I get shot without ever seeing anyone around. In this current state of the game, the ONLY thing to do is kill other players. Who gets to decide what is an allowable target? No one, that's who. If you play, you are accepting that death will visit you, sooner or later. You do eventually learn to detach from your gear and your character. I am not sure what type of PVE element will ever stop PVP in this game. I am pretty sure you are stuck with PVP. If they ever implement PVE only servers, I think they will likely be the most boring places in the game. People talk about hunting and cooking and all that jazz. Well, after you shoot the 5th deer, or cook another pot of rabbit stew, you are going to get bored. You will then give up the game, or move back to PVP. It's the nature of the beast. This isn't WOW with a new raid coming in the next patch.

If it's realism we are after, one or two shots for a zombie kill is realistic. If the mechanics of the game don't allow for proper and consistent targeting, then you just have to accept the wonders of the fireaxe. On a side note, how in the world did this make it to release? It was reported over on experimental and the dev's even acknowledged it was an issue.

Thank you. Who thinks logging in to watch your character sleep is a good idea? That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Yes, the IDEA of realism is okay, but please use a bit of logic before coming up with this stuff. People don't pay for games that make them sit and not play. I will put this in a Tony Dungy voice: You PAY to PLAY the game. Not sit idle for 33% of the time watching your guy sleep! -

oh dear god, why do you people troll the forums??? if you implement sleeping and crapping in this game, you likely won't get another game sale. it is the absolutely fastest way to kill the game. -

House is a fav spot of mine, always on the dirt road into the town with no zombies. It also has a side door with a small room and loot. Pretty cool place and the only one I know of that model. Been going there since .43 update -
Realism is okay, but it should NEVER go that far. Along with sleeping in game, it must be taboo.

Adding more zombies in their current condition would make the game almost unplayable. I prefer playing the game, so I have no problem with a limited amount of infected around. As of this morning, it is MUCH harder to kill a zed, even with a fireaxe, and if you had 3 or more on you, it would almost guarantee your death.

found them on regular this morning, at NEAF. Then got killed by zombies. I did look through them once....once.

Yeah, I got attacked by 2 zeds, the first one I 1-shot, the 2nd one wouldn't go down. He hit me enough that I bled out and died. I like hard zombies, I just wish the hit detection and all that jazz was a bit more accurate.

Agreed. I think the data-miners say it doesn't matter, but it always feels better when everything is pristine. I think where pristine matters more is clothing. It gives you an extra level, so to speak, to absorb damage. On a side note, my damaged press vest got turned to pristine yesterday when a zombie whacked me in Balota area.

If the loot amount isn't high, you don't have activity. Right now, this is one of the very few places that can draw people away from the spawn areas. Also, you have a few zombies in the area, and they act like beacons if there are other people around. This makes the place extremely dangerous. If you do it on an almost empty server, then yes, it's too much loot with too little risk. On a full server, it can be deadly.

Yet, I've been crouching while eating in a home, and a zed ghosted on me and swung for my head. Down I go, dead, dead, and dead. Pristine ballistics helmet. So yes, it might help against bullets, but zombies...they hit harder than bullets, or at least they do about 1 of 500 swings.

It's a trick so they can steal the tires off your car while you are busy downloading a fake game. They will then contact you via steam-chat and offer to sell the tires back to you at 98.2% of retail value. They don't even charge a balancing fee on the tires, so in some ways, it's a bargain. If you get the AM crew doing it, they will also armor-all the tires for free. Good guys, sorta. -
From the last data I've seen condition of items typically has no effect. Though most scope types show a cracked lens when damaged. But even cracked, the accuracy is fine. Same goes for attachments on m4 and mosin.

I don't get it. If they have axes, of course they run slower. About 20-25% slower to be exact. Are you saying that you run faster when they put the axes away?

I think a quick run to NWAF or Balota is common for players. It takes one of those spots to get pretty kitted up. Once done, you have a choice, spend the hour to get back to spawn-city, or just play with yourself in the woods. I like the woods, but after a day or two of not seeing another soul, I long for the crisp sound of M4 bullets whizzing by my head. At this stage in the game, PVP is really the end-game. Eventually they gotta throw some more content out so we have something to do other than stalking other players. Hunting will be fun, but that fun will probably only last a week or two. What then?

Yep, Svelto melts my video card everytime I get close. When I spawn there, I run as fast as possible(which is laggy as hell) away from town limits. If I try to stay, I lag so bad I never see the zombies killing me. Why can't they fix this city? What makes it so horrible for FPS?

Well, there is also scary PVP, and scary AI. Scary AI would probably be hard to do at this point. Does the fear of losing your life/gear in the game create fear? For some, yes, for others, no. Scary for me would be making it pay to play.
