  1. There has been no change, apples have always been barely a net gain on energy and high water, tomatoes for example are actually worse...you'll likely die of hunger just trying to survive on Tomatoes. If you want tot survive on foraging mix it up with red berries, you can easily get bright green energized and hydrated from just berries and apples. Berries are only slightly more energy, but much less stomach meaning you can eat a ton before you have to stop because your too stuffed. The wiki provides all the numbers for most food items in the game. http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Food_and_Drink

    I feel dirty

Well I suspect we'll be hearing some great stories about what people are eating on experimental....much worse then a bacteria laden pepper...probably a boost after all that anti-bacterial purell
  3. Wild Animals are pretty plentiful, OP must not have looked very hard. Living off the land should be viewed as a challenge... but even that is a mild challenge at best. I'd say hardest thing is the bow as the chickens are difficult to come by due to the limited spawn and the fact zombies tend to kill them quickly. Most the items mesh pretty well, like you need the machete to make arrows and to skin animals. I'd love if they made arrows stack better, and allow you to move and fire the weapon I found making a fire much easier then gas. All you really need is matches, considering any survivor worth his salt will have an axe and rags...stones aren't required. With gas you need the stove, an LP tank and a pot/skillet - and you get no warmth
  4. Maybe I'm just lame, but if I forget where I logged out cause I haven't played for a week - I always login on a low pop server to get my bearings then server hop to a high pop server once I know where I am and find a safe spot to relog.
  5. are the small protector cases really rare? I saw them all the time a month ago, but none lately

1st kill, Did I make the right call?

@Dy5lexia I agree my move was shitty, but if he had a morphine/sticks in his bag I would have felt like a genius - its not like I cried for help then killed my helper. I'm still stoked that I took out a fully capable individual while I was broken, and then managed to get to his body which was no small feat considering I had to crawl multiple flights of stairs down and up to get to him. BT Is server hoping considered questionable/abuse of mechanics? I presume people are smart enough to choose low pop servers if they want little player interaction and intentionally choose high pop servers when they want interaction - be it negative or positive.

1st kill, Did I make the right call?

My first genuine kill was sketchy - I had a very well geared guy, was on the reef ship for gear - fell down a buggy ladder and broke my legs. I crawled to a spot where I could snipe someone, and then server hopped to a max pop server, caught a geared guy and took him out with my rifle- but destroyed most his gear with the kill - it was also hell getting to him, but I officially now know how to crawl upstairs and all over. I server hopped a few times till I found sticks and was able to fix my legs - lesson learned carry sticks or morphine if you like to climb ladders - and when you kill someone don't expect much gear to be left. Probably should have called out for help - but who is gonna help a well geared person with broken legs - not worth the risk
