    The rarest sh*t I ever found

    Dude, you're either looking in entirely the wrong buildings or you're joining mouldy old servers that reset ages ago :/ Find out the server reset times for your region (UK is 14:00) and then head straight to piano houses, police stations, fire stations etc... (I hope I don't have to mention airfield :p ). But don't be a dick and go on a server hopping spree! Oh and don't be boring by choosing a fresh empty server. You just have to be tactical about it. That's how everyone else can wind up with mosin/sks with a fair amount of ammo after 5 mins of having respawned. Choose you're servers wisely B)

    Too North East / Coastal Focused?

    Although it's the smallest airfield, it's still an airfield with 2 barracks, 2 hangars and ATC tower = good military loot. The middle lacks any of this. Not to mention the 5 increases in loot spawn in that area (Svetlojarsk, Chernaya-Polana, Karmanovka, Khelm, Olsha).

    That's a fair enough point that I agree with, it's just that it would be nice (and 100% possible) if they could do this focusing on areas of the map that actually need attention such as the middle, rather than consolidating an already loot-plentiful area such as the NE. We shouldn't have to wait till the end of alpha for a good reason to visit the middle of the map. Players will get bored as I have seen happen to many people I used to play with. They just go back to the mod because there's actually stuff to do - which is a shame. And you're point backs me up - Chernarus is a very undeveloped, rural place with very little between the minor settlements along the coast (plenty of "wild" for animals to be wandering around). You should probably take a stroll along the coast before claiming that you doubt animals will hang around there... My ultimate point being that on the coast there is everything you can find inland + MORE.

    What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

    I've played 420hrs (mostly on high pop servers) and still not run into a hacker yet. I have seen vids though of the teleportation hacking so I know they're out there somewhere. The only foul play I've encountered a few times is ghosting.

    This game is also "for playing around with military weapons", hence why it was made using the Arma engine... If you just want friendly social interaction I suggest you join SecondLife :P No, I don't think it is a good thing, otherwise they might as well reduce the map to just the coastline if no one bothers heading in. And when hunting is implemented then they'll still be able to hunt near the coast. Furthermore, if there's so much loot on the coast why go hunting inland when there's enough cans in coastal towns to keep you going? It's undeniable that the centre of the map has been overlooked when it comes to loot. Chernaya-Polana or Karmanovka could have been as easily placed on that empty northern highway where there is literally no reason to go. This is fundamentally about making the game more diverse and less "same-old". A lot of people are getting bored easily over the samey coastal gameplay. And also, it is logical that there should be POIs away from the coast, considering that IRL not everything useful/interesting is on the coast - Chernarus is based on a landlocked country filled with plenty of non-coastal interesting places.

    Cant play Experimental all of a sudden

    There is no fix unfortunately. If you simply apply the version filter on your server list then you will notice that for the last week or so the experimental servers have been offline. The only servers that appear of different version atm seems to be the Devs' server and Hicks' server (v43.116290 - both obvs private). You'll just have to wait and play with the current v43.116251 (which was actually the same as the Experimental version for a few days whilst those servers were still up). Hopefully we'll get some news soon. No one seemed to ask Dean during the livestream at Eurogamer unfortunately :/

    Poppy Morphine?

    I stumbled across this field by the NE airfield, you've most likely been through it on the way from Berezino. I'm not sure if these are poppies (I think they could be sunflowers) but seeing the large plants made me think about poppies and how obviously you can quite easily extract the latex from them and cook up morphine in real life. Considering the rarity of morphine shots in this game, I think that crafting your own morphine would be a very neat feature to have. Maybe just any kind of knife/bayonet could be used to extract latex and then when the cooking system is introduced you could refine the latex into morphine? Then fill a syringe with your concoction to store/use. Also yet another use for the syringe :p Doesn't sound too complex, would be pretty useful and also expand the crafting possibilities there should eventually be... Any thoughts? (From a quick search I couldn't find this idea but sincere apologies if this has been discussed before!)

    Should Cannibalism Be In DayZ

    I think this is a great idea (not that I am a cannibal!) because it adds to the awesome realism of this game. Also, the KOSing issue is just so extensive that you'll never get rid of it, people are paranoid about getting killed by others and TBH, I think in a real post-apocalypse you probably wouldn't take any chances with other survivors either (I do NOT KoS though). Obviously you'd need side effects like Kuru/mad cow disease and serious risk of illness if uncooked to give the player some kind of choice. And as mentioned, the shakes like from Book of Eli from Prion Disease would need to affect your aiming ability. However, if people do want to KoS you for your flesh then so be it, this is the apocalypse :P

    Well I think the features that would make a train uniquely useful would be that they are faster than road vehicles and also that they should really be easier to patch up to working condition than a car because there shouldn't be any reason why they would be damaged whilst a car would likely have had a crash or been looted in an apocalyptic event. Also, this game is all about realism and so this adds another aspect of that that furthers the feel of the DayZ experience. I like this game because everything seems plausible and it has a simulator feel to it. In a real life apocalypse i cant see a reason why you couldn't try commandeer a train if you wanted to. So the ability to do this would just make DayZ feel more legit I suppose. I know this feature wouldn't be a priority but I certainly think it would have use and be very exciting and impressive.

    yeah dude, exactly the same. I get into a server, have to wait like 5 mins before my desync drops froms 100,000 so i can just even get a weapon out. It was fine for me yesterday though, only today have i been getting this issue... making the game virtually unplayable :/

    I was thinking about this and actually I reckon that considering that a train is more limited than any other vehicle by the fact that it's noisy, obvious and limited to one path it should maybe be quicker to set up than a car. And from a realism point of view, a zombie virus caused the apocalypse, not a nuclear war or anything, so why should the train be anything but abandoned? I mean maybe all you should have to do is find fuel cos I can't think why the train should be damaged, it's just been left after the driver presumably went zombie :/ if it took longer to make/maintain than a road vehicle then I would never opt to bother using a train cos I'd find a car quicker... I think it would need to be easier, sort of like a gateway vehicle

    And yeah a river which is navigable would be a great feature too, although I'm not sure how easy it is to change the map? If you could plonk a river through the middle of the map then maybe the rail line could be extended into a complete circumference too?

    Well you can't be too excited about vehicles then? i think the attractive part of this idea is that it just adds another dimension to the game. it would make it even more open-worldly and boundary-less than it already is
