Crap, I'm Ukrainian. I also have two legs and say 'hello' regularly! By talking him down, do you mean shooting at him until he comes down? Because I feel like using actual words would be a bit of a stretch at this point. Failing that we could just shoot at his Vodka until he runs out. That's sure to work.

This should be in the 'Suggestions' forum. But yeah, flares especially. Every police/firestation would have flares and flare guns. -
Hardcore will likely be hugely different in the future: The aiming reticule will likely be removed.Scarcity will be far worse on hardcore than regular.Loot respawns will likely be locked at very long periods.Temperature and sickness will likely be harsher on hardcore.Zombies may be harder on hardcore.And those are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head, that will likely change closer to release. As I said above, "Play on hardcore" is not a valid response to this argument.

So that's a lesson learned for you. :p :) Always be aware of your surroundings, even if you think you're the only player on the server. Tip: If you hold the L-Alt key you can turn your head without turning your body. This lets you look over your shoulder or from side to side while moving in a straight line (without having to use the old strafe trick). I am almost always checking 9, 3 and 6 o'clock especially in military installations and even on low pop servers. You just never, ever know when someone is watching.

I pretty much always have enough room to grab more stuff because I only carry what I need. 1x Medkit (bandage, saline, IV, Bloodbag, morphine/epi) 1x Ammo box (can easily store enough ammo to start a small war in one of these) 1x Protector case Magazines/clips (they can't go into the ammo box) Food Canteen Map Compass All the rest is fluff.

For a start, you can't force people to communicate via in game chat. They may want to talk to friends who are playing completely separate games or other such things. Perhaps at a server level, such as the guy you read about, but likely most people would just move to a server where they didn't have to connect to his particular TS. Second, as Mithrawndo pointed out, there's many ways to bypass something like this at the hardware level. People will resort to simply using voip over their phones or tablets if they have to. Like I said, it is a good idea - but I wouldn't think that it would be practicable from a developer standpoint. -

^ this. To enjoy this game you have to enjoy difficulty and challenge. You have to enjoy torturing yourself by taking 20 minutes scoping out a tiny town in the middle of no where, just to make sure its safe. You have to enjoy being ambushed, being shot on sight, being handcuffed and tortured, spending hours looking for ammo for your SKS and only finding Mosin rounds... You have to enjoy surviving and surviving should and always will be a challenge and a pain in your ass. If you're looking for a fun PvP shooter, then you're better off with another game because that's not what DayZ is about.

Firstly, the challenge in PvP is only present for anyone limiting themselves to 1pp. They are at an automatic disadvantage. The tactics are exploits - you are gaining information that your avatar could not possibly know. 'Classic 3pv gameplay tactics' - well, this is not a classic game. The point of this game is not PvP. PvP is an option, but it's not the core of what DayZ is supposed to be about. It's not a deathmatch game. It's not TF2 or Battlefront. Yes you're correct that you cannot damage someone while in cover, but that's not the point at all. The point is that you can see me from behind solid cover, whereas I cannot see you at all. I have no idea you're there, because you're not in my LoS. Fallacious argument. Just because other games have it, doesn't mean DayZ has to have it. DayZ is also not a game about being competitive in the same respect as the games you've listed. There's no leaderboards, no high scores, no tournaments. No one is arguing to remove 3pp totally (at least I'm not). I'm arguing that you should not have an advantage over me simply because you choose to play in a different perspective than I do. It has nothing to do with 'majorities' either. A million people can believe the earth is flat, but it still doesn't magically make it correct. You have an advantage by being able to effectively see through any wall or obstacle. It's as simple as that. Again, I am not asking for 3pp to be removed. I'm asking for the ability for players to see through walls and obstacles to spot other players, zombies or loot in 3pp to be removed. Doing so will mean a level and fair playing field regardless of the perspective any player chooses to play in. Once again I get the feeling that the only argument being put forward here is, "I want to be able to see people hiding behind cover because I'm lazy and don't want to expose myself to fire like everyone else has to." - this is not good enough. Every scenario is not even, regardless of perspective: How is the spoilered scenario in any way even? You can see me coming while I have absolutely no idea that you are there! I could be the best scout in the game and you still have a huge advantage over me. You can simply wait for me to turn away from you, pop up and shoot me without ever exposing yourself to risk from me. That is not skill or patience or positioning, it's a legal and lethal wallhack. Once again, I am not arguing that you shouldn't be able to have 3pp. But it needs to be fixed so that in the above scenario you cannot see me either. I am effectively invisible to you unless you stand up and look over the wall with your characters eyes. Here's another one: In this situation you can potentially see me coming from miles away without ever exposing yourself, giving you a huge advantage. You now have a very long time to set up an ambush for me, and I still have no idea you're there even if I am the most observant player in the game. If you cannot see the issues with this, then I have to assume you're part of the crowd that just wants cheap and easy kills in a game that is NOT supposed to be about that type of thing.

Yes, I enjoy the broken legs. It makes me very careful not to break them in the first place, rather than rushing around and jumping from unrealistic heights. It means that I have to think about whether I want to take those sticks now and use up some backpack space, incase I break my legs later, or just hope that I don't. So far I've broken my legs three times in 50 hours, so it's not like it's happening every second. Also it's very good that you can shoot people in the leg and break it. That allows you to immobilise other players with a good shot and rewards accuracy, especially if you want their loot. If it worries you that much, carry a piece of rotten fruit with you and use it as a 'suicide pill' in the event of a broken leg.

Well, a fall from 4m can definitely kill you irl. That's about the equivalent of falling off the roof of a normal house. Very easy to kill yourself if you land wrong, but I'm pretty sure you didn't fall that far. More like 6ft off those stairs (if I'm thinking of the same ones you are). Doubtful you'd die from a 6ft fall but you could break your leg pretty easily. But the fall damage is screwed I agree. I've broken my legs dropping 1ft, died dropping 6ft (like you), and survived falling 6 or 7 meters (20ft) off a roof without so much as a scratch... :huh:

Sounds like a good idea - but I think it should only work if you have no bandages or anything, as a last resort. And it should take a fairly long time to stop the bleeding, since you're just using your hands. Especially if you're jogging. The point of bandaging - rather than soaking up the blood - is to apply pressure, stop bleeding and keep the wound away from things that could possibly infect it. If you bandage correctly, you don't need to continue to apply pressure as the bandage does it for you. I'd like to see tourniquets added when/if serious wounds make it into the game.

This is not the game for you. Feel free to go and play something else. There are so many other dumbed down hand holders out there for you to enjoy. As for guns being rare? Please... don't make me laugh. They're far too common as it is. That tells me you hang around the main areas on the coast and the airfields/military bases. Of course they're rare there that's where everyone goes. Last night I found 3x shotguns, 2x Blaze, 1x Magnum, 1x FNX, 1x Mosin and 3x SKS in one play through on a server with 34 people on it... You're just not looking in the right places.

It isn't like loot is going to respawn every 10 minutes. It will be hours and hours between respawns. This whole problem is alleviated simply by not making all loot respawn at the same time. Have cities/towns on a staggered respawn, so you never know where shit will be respawning at any given time. If it's on a 2 or 4 hour cycle, it's not going to feel much different from server restarts now with the exception of not getting booted. If you want things to be even rarer, have a server option for 6 - 8 - 12- 24 hour respawn schedules.

Yeah expect the blurriness to stay. Opening the video options is the bug that will be getting fixed. The blurriness represents you being low health. The lower your health the blurrier and more greyscale your screen gets. -
To put it quite simply - get over it. If you're indifferent (which your long post clearly proves you're not) what are you doing here? The argument about servers is ridiculous. I've stated multiple times that I can't get onto hardcore servers very often; there are simply no populated ones here that show up in my lists consistently. Even if there were hardcore servers I am just as entitled to play on a regular server as you are, in my chosen perspective, without people having an advantage over me. The true argument, completely aside from the availability of hardcore servers, is why should 3pp players get a clear cut advantage over 1pp players. Hardcore will eventually have a lot of difference between it and regular. Plenty of people don't want to play on hardcore, but still want to use 1pp and that gap will increase as changes get made to hardcore. Why should those players be penalised solely for their choice of perspective? There is a clear way to have an even footing between 3pp and 1pp players, making the game fair for everyone regardless of what server they play on and not forcing players into a hardcore mode that they don't want to play. If you can't provide a compelling argument as to why 3pp players should be allowed to keep the massive advantage that their perspective gives them over 1pp players then those of us who get annoyed by this exploit will continue to talk about it. Saying, "Play on hardcore" just doesn't cut it. The problem isn't about Hardcore Vs Regular. It seems to me that those of you who argue for 3pp can't answer the above and simply want to keep your advantage at the expense of anyone who plays in 1pp - this is what the arguments from most people who support 3pp boil down to.

I'm sorry but it is true. Semi-auto would not work for me with the default T command. I had to change it to Tx2. If I change it back to T it doesn't work again. As I said, I confirmed it, I'm not dumb. Maybe it works fine for you, but it does not for me and a few other people. Alpha, remember?
