Caffeine psychosis is a serious issue. I myself cannot function without at least a caffeine blood level of 0.5%. It's an addiction. A horrible, horrible addiction. I once woke up in a whorehouse in Berezino in nothing but my underwear, a clown mask, and completely slathered in beans. There weren't even any whores in there! Sewing kits already work in stable... I use them all the time...? :huh: They'll repair anything back to 'worn' status and each time you use them they degrade a bit until they hit ruined.

I'm all for tying hunger and thirst to movement. Not particularly invested in how the actual system works, and to me this seems like a good idea. I just find it utterly ridiculous that I can sprint the equivalent of 50km with no penalties at all and I can't wait for whatever fix they work out to limit this type of thing. I assume we won't see something like this until at least basic vehicles are implemented though, as the QQ that will follow stripping sprinting down will be massive.

As much fun as it is shooting people in DayZ, it's decidedly less fun to get shot in real life, especially over other peoples ideals. Why don't you come down from your tower and have a drink? No safe zones. No NPC's. The devs have already stated this will never be implemented. The only safe zones that will ever exist in DayZ are the ones players create themselves, and those will be far better and more exciting than any forced, arbitrary things the devs could put into the game.

I've got to say Wolfguarde that I have to agree with what I've quoted here. Not the troll part, but certainly your points seem to all imply that we're just arguing for the sake of arguing. You really didn't address the substance of anything I wrote and you didn't address the scenarios I gave you at the bottom you just wrote them off as not being a problem. Well, I think for me to take that point of view seriously, you have to justify why they're not a problem. Once again, the only arguments I can find in this thread essentially boil down to - "We like our advantage so go away thank you very much." and I don't think that's a justifiable excuse for keeping it. Remember I am not arguing for 3rd person to be removed from the game. I have no issue if people want to play in that perspective. Sometimes I even like to switch to it when I am running, just to watch my guy run. What I am arguing for is removing the absurd, unauthentic advantage that we all agree is there, to make the game fair for everyone. As Mithrawndo said, the tools are all there to get it done. Otherwise, I feel, they need to lock servers at one perspective and change the names from 'regular' and 'hardcore' to 'third person' and 'first person'. Any time the perspectives mix under the current rules, 1st person is at a severe disadvantage. Hardcore is irrelevant (and also no, I don't have the details on the dev announcements there. If I find them I'll PM them to you. There was a topic in Gen Discussion IIRC). Hardcore and regular are going to be separate things. I should be able to play on regular, like everyone else, and have a fair game against you and not be punished for my choice of perspective. It's that simple.

A little bit more scarcity of firearms would be great. Especially firearms like the SKS, Mosin and M4. I'd like to see shotguns and some civilian type 9mm and .45 pistols be the common firearms with higher quality and military grade weapons being a lot rarer. For example, last night on a server with 34 people on it I found 3x shotguns, 2x Blaze, 1x Magnum, 1x FNX, 1x Mosin and 3x SKS in a 2 hour session. This isn't a rare occurrence for me because I don't hang around areas where there are many other players when I am looting. I typically head inland and hit all the smaller villages. If someone tells you they can't find guns in this game it's pretty much because they're hanging out on the coast or at the military bases/airfields. So a bit of tweaking is in order IMO. Finding a gun should be a decent challenge (but not super rare or impossible) and your weapon should be something you cherish when you find it because you know it will be pretty hard to replace. Making 80% of the weapons spawn in 'Badly Damaged' condition would also help, especially if they introduced accuracy penalties and jamming for damaged weapons. A pristine firearm should be something that is a really rare find and something you really cherish and look after.

Desync is between you and the server, not you and other players. So if the connection between you and the server is shoddy, it doesn't matter how many other players are around you're going to get desync issues. For example if you get a massive lag spike on your connection (unrelated to the game) that will give you desync issues even on a server that you normally have a perfect connection to.

Yeah, I tried to for deleting my character because obviously I was stuck in a death loop and I couldn't get anything to work. Deleted it, logged back in and nope... character still there, lol. I was so mad. :p As far as I am aware, this works with a huge number of games that rely on My Document based .cfg files.

Except that it's not. Maybe with a catastrophic injury, like your entrails literally hanging out of your body or getting shot in the chest or head, but for most things like a cut or bad scratch or a broken bone, it won't be a problem. Eventually I'm hoping you'll need complex medical treatment for catastrophic injuries in DayZ, so this could just apply to basic injuries like a cut to the arm, cleanly broken arm/leg etc. A compound fracture I would class as a catastrophic injury. But hell, to give you a real world example: I was once in a car accident. Got t-boned by a truck (I wasn't driving). After the accident, my adrenaline was so high (and I was most assuredly also in shock) that both the paramedics that took me to hospital and the doctors at the hospital thought I was fine. I was walking, talking, moving around without an issue and in no pain at all. They stitched a couple of decent cuts in my hand and send me home. I walked from the hospital to school, got the house keys from my mum, and walked home. Next day I was in agony and couldn't even get out of bed - 4 broken ribs, a cracked hip and a badly sprained knee.

HEY, NO INSULTING TETRIS! Tetris is goddamn hard man. It takes skills to line those blocks up once you hit a certain speed.

Just delete the whole folder. Any time you mess with that stuff, deleting the whole lot won't hurt anything. DayZ will just recreate it all with the default settings next time you start the game. I learned this the hard way when I was trying to kill my character while stuck in a death loop! :p Any of the .cfg files in the My Documents folder it's fine to delete or modify as much as you want.

Is this in the .cfg file that's located in your My Documents folder? If so, just delete the file and restart DayZ and it will revert to the default settings.

This thread was an epic read and I'm quite disappointed that I missed out on the fun! Well done VictorM for providing all these players with an epic experience. :thumbsup: :beans: ... and I agree with you. TS and other such things are the equivalent to exploiting in my opinion.

I think any time your using your hands to stop the blood flow there should be a chance of infection. Clean bandages (or rags from a Pristine shirt) or spraying disinfectant on the wound should be the only way to have zero chance of infection.

Or, you know... I could just tell my mates exactly where you shot me from and they could hunt you down like a dog.
