    Social experiment

I'm 12 years old and what is this?

    Berry Picking?

You can pick fresh apples from the trees, but berries don't work yet.

    Inventory Mixup (NOT A SUGGESTION)

This needs to be fixed because you can also lose items that take up several inventory slots due to this. So far I've lost 2 ammo boxes, a protector case and several sawn-off shotguns because they didn't fit into the magically re-arranged inventory. :(
  4. You don't seem to be able to understand my point. So I'm not gonna try to explain it to you now, I'll put a thread up tomorrow - but I doubt you will get my point. I'm out now.. you know.. socializing...
  5. Okay, I'll try to make it easy for you. What you're basically saying is, that a murderer can walk free because he chose the life of his victim had to end. And his choice must be respected. You, my dear, have a huge social deficit. As does most of the KoS community.
  6. Well, those people chose to play nice and keep PvP to a minimum and also ask other people to be nice and not KoS on their server. There is nothing wrong with that ... except KoS-ppl not letting them have this choice, instead forcing the KoS-playstyle on them.
  7. Maybe they want to get to know the game and learn the basics without being shot by every random lunatic they run into? How do you dare dictating them they cannot do this?
  8. That's exactly the point. It is new. It looks different than anything before. People will pick it up and wear just because of that. That's why there's more people wearing them at the moment. And as the majority of players KoS there will also be more of them wearing the hats. Your "personal statistics" do not prove anything as they only describe what you perceive. Before they were introduced nobody could wear them so you didn't notice them. Now that they are here people do wear them (even more frequently as they are new) and as they do stand out from all the other headgear you do notice them more often than a beanie hat or radar cap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_perception
  9. I am from the EU and it definitley is socially acceptable to wear whatever you want. Maybe your corner of the EU is full of retards, judging people on the way they dress? Yes, and I am one of those. There is no gear that brands you as nice or not nice. You dress the way you want. There is no way to be able to preemptively judge people on how they dress in this game - nor in real life.

    Death by fall

I have also experienced this. Sometimes I'm able to loot my own body, sometimes I'm not.

    Small protector case

Yes, they do spawn there. I found one the other day. Thanks to people like you I get tons of stuff in almost every town. :) Even M4s are spawning in civilian buildings now and I always come across rifles, ammo and food in locations they never appeared before. It's really worth checking out everything now.

    A few thoughts

Many of you will probably think this is ridiculous and it has probably been suggested before, but anyways... Currently the messages in the bottom left corner basically display your "thoughts" or "feelings" on how your body is doing. "I feel like having a drink" "My stomach grumbles" "I feel blood dripping off my clothes" Why not expand this to cover more feelings? Like, imagine you meet a nice guy at the coast who helps you out and maybe you scavenge a few houses together. After a while you separate and go your own ways, but both of you actually liked each other for being friendly and you wouldn't mind meeting each other again and have some more fun together. A little while later after you've geared up a bit and decide to go loot a military base. You get into one of the barracks, take what you need, turn around and then there's someone standing in the door. Of course you KoS him before any of you say a word, because you're scared as hell and don't want to give up your precious gear. But that guy in the door was actually the one who you enjoyed teaming up with earlier, you'll just never know. You would know in real life though, and this is where the simulation currently fails in my opinion. Everytime someone swichtes clothes and you run into them again you basically meet a new - probably hostile - player. It could've been that bambi who you gave a can of beans just a few minutes ago and he was lucky enough to loot a bandit corpse and find it's first gear, he wants to come back and give you something in return, but to you it is one of those damn KoS kiddies and before he can turn his mic on you put a bullet in his head. So how about having a system where you "memorize faces", just as you would remember them in real life? You look at that guy in the door and he looks back at you and you both get that message popping up saying something like: "This face looks familiar" "This person seems to be friendly" "I've met this person before" "This guy gave me something useful" Of course this won't help against the people KoSing for the hell of it (in my opinion they're just scared to interact with real people), but it could add a new layer of immersion to those who actually play the game. Your memory also should not last forever, but blur out over time, and should be deleted when you die. And maybe even let it have a small chance of failure, sometimes real people look similar too. This could also be combined with a simple mechanic that makes you automatically lower or even holster your gun (same for the other person of course) when you come across someone you've met and interacted with before. Or when you're further away and zoom in on them with your scope you also get some kind of "feeling" that tells you not to shoot this person right away. And if you've seen that guy kill some fresh spawn before have it say: "That guy is a murderer" or something. It can also be applied to identify bandits. I don't think it would be good to have this system forced though, make it optional - so everyone can decide if he wants to use it or just keep KoSing everyone who might pose a threat. Reading through all this again I think it's probably close to impossible to put in the game. But hey.. maybe you can put some of this in your minds and keep it there for your next encounter. I think/hope there's more people like me out there who think that KoS is taking many interesting aspects out of the game, essentially breaking the whole mechanic of player interaction. I think we're supposed to experience non-hostile behaviour more often.

    Elektro Hospital Bazar

I reopened my bazar again! This time I waited for the server to restart so I could serve as many people as possible and also get some better gear for them. So far two happy customers. I even found an M4 in the building right next to hospital. The guy who took it was very surprised, didn't believe at first that I found it in a civilian building in Elektro, so I showed him where to look. Haven't been killed yet!
  14. As described in this thread I usually try not to leave any loot behind and hide it from other players. Today I got bored and thought it turn it around and ended up looting half of Elektro and putting all the stuff I found in front of the hospital and sitting down next to it. One fresh spawn came along and couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't stop thanking me for my efforts for like 5 minutes while looking through all the precious items I collected for him. After a while his mates joined us and took what they needed. So I was left with a few helmets and other not so useful things.. Then the server restartet and I logged off to get some beans irl. All in all a nice variation of gameplay. I'll definitely do this at least a few more times, just to see how people react to this very uncommon act of kindness in DayZ. I guess I'll die by a 7.62mm to my head tho..
