Yes absolutely , it's planned. In one of the last status reports they talked about the tracking a bit, in another SR they talked about the life and day cycle oft animals. If you want to know where they want to go, play The Hunter (f2p) on steam. Behoemia bought the devs of The Hunter, so that should be a good sign :)

Yeah, the dream of such a massive map in DayZ would be nice. But with today's engines and hardware it's not possible to build a map like this with acceptable frame rates. Maybe in ten years we can think about it but not today;-)

If I remember correct, Hicks said months ago, that they will be removed one time. And they won't come back as usable tents. It's a bit sad, because they are tiny and looking nice but maybe we will get some other, similar tents in the future. We have the medium tent and the devs (I would say) will add a smaller one for sure, but Idk:-)

Yes, as Boneboys said, I bet you will need a new PSU too. I doubt it has enough power for a dedicated graphics card. The PSU is the most important thing of a PC, so please don't try to run the new card with your old PSU. Check it first, post it here and we'll see what's the next step :-)

I don't think there are items which not affecting the gameplay. Every item affects the gameplay, especially in DayZ. Yes some more, some less but over all I don't like it. I hope there will always be some vanilla public and private servers (1pp and 3pp) hosted by BI, otherwise the vanilla game will die... -

Yeah, but if I'm correct, then you can use server restarts to see when the crash sites changed. Because a server restarts every 12 hours, heli changes after 3 hours, so with every restart there is a new crash site. Or am I missing something?!But I be with the OP, no server time, no players (and no player list in game), but as others said private servers only would be the best solution.

I really like the idea of welders. Another possibility would be rivets and riveting pliers. This would be a little bit easier to implement and would need a simpler mechanic. Just a box of rivets like we have with nails now, and the tool. Ofc it would be less solid as welding when putting parts together, but still good enough for repair/maintain vehicles parts or base structures.

DayZ would probably be better without any military gear

As Deathlove said, we are still in alpha, nothing is balanced now and will be changed in the future. I hope that the quantity of military weapons will be significantly reduced. Especially weapons like RPGs, granade launchers and sniper rifles(VSS; SVD; whatnot) should be ULTRA rare. But, at first the devs have to eliminate the duping glitches, I think. Anyway the biggest game changer will be stamina related to wieght - I hope this will sort out the most problems and you have to choose - ammo or tools/ war or survival...we'll see. -
Nice Status Report and very good presentation @PAX AUS! :beans: my questions @ Mr. Hicks: - When will or how far away has a player to be to activate the infected, if they are in "sleeping mode"? Is this planned for animal AI too? - How smart should the infected AI be? Flank/sneak us or just straight running at us as always? Same for animals, will they see, hear, smell us? - Are layers for clothes planned? (e.g. t-shirt, sweater, jacket in winter; only the top layer will be rendered -> no clipping issues)? - Will blocking be a part of meele combat? Or will it just be fast and heavy attacks? - Will interacting with items in tents, barrels and so on refresh the persistence time in 0.59? Like it was originally planned? - Peter said, that rolling items will be possible. Is this just the case with small items like granades or bottles (more a "throw-roll"), or will we be able to roll e.g. barrels full of loot or push cars with an empty tank down the road? Thank you for your time, I really like what you said and I can't wait to see the new UI, advanced meele combat with firearms and all the other stuff :thumbsup: Keep up the good work! Thx :)

I think you mean the map size will not extended, because hiking paths will be added, tisy base and I'm sure the surroundings, Kamensk mine, cherno and other "old" cities will be changed. So we will see changes to the map in the future :) I'm excited! edit: Anybody think they will add (a bit) more content as they want previously to 0.59? There are some delays, yes, but other parts of the development team are maybe not affected. So maybe they could finish stuff which should be released later?!

I like it very much. I hope they will be running as private servers, too. Finally I had 1pp server, which will not disappear or change into 3pp or persistence wiped - also day/night (time acceleration) is on. Maybe with these setting more people will play 1pp again :) For now, I would be happy, if there are some 1pp exp servers for 0.59. The last exp patches had no 1pp, if I remember correct!?

Really good Q&A :) :beans: - Will more animals (or animal hordes) spawning in 0.59? - Will we get an option to disable the HUD and crosshair in the future (clientside)? - Can we expect that nights will be improved with the new renderer? - You said some time ago, that you would implement stamina when more vehicles are in. Is it possible for 0.60 (or maybe 0.59)? - There are so many soccer fields in Chernarus+, will we get a ball to play? - Do you have some wishes to the community? How could we help more or give better feedback? Thx :)

That's the case, e.g. https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/228933-status-report-15-sept-15/ And I believe they said on the Eugen's cheaters presentation that if you report cheats and private hacks, you eventually will be paid for it. Why shouldn't we report bugs and cheats, we all want a safe and polished game. This should be enough motivation.

Yeah, I'm totally with you. For me, there are too many guns even right now. For me, they don't have to add one more gun. There will be more stuff, more survival content. But I think many of this content is related to the new tech (e.g. physics), so eventually they have to wait for it - but I don't know, if this is the case...I'm speculating. -

I don't want to blame the creators of the mod, I appreciate their work, but creating a new engine and creating a mod is completely different. You can't compare this. And why should DayZ suck in 2-3 years? I think exactly then comes the time of DayZ, because the game is finished and many many mods are created - it will be the heyday of DayZ! Now remember what you have said, Arma3 is NOT designed for a game like DayZ, but you like the Exile mod. Now imagine what the devs can achieve, if they create an engine exactly fitting for a game like Dayz?! It will be outstanding! -
No, I don't miss it at all. If you ask me, there are still way too many military locations in Chernarus+. Instead, there should be more unique locations and buildings, which were suggested from the users many times before, like carnival, mall, go-cart track, tennis court, car dealership, shipyard, specialist shops...and much more. But after I watched the video of Chris Torchia's presentation, I don't think we will get much more individual buildings. Sadly, it takes too much time - I'm still hoping that I'm wrong and they have some surprises for us.

I think the devs should add funcional mirrors and water reflections, so the argument with looking at the char wouldn't count anymore. So everybody could play 1pp :-) -

I prefer 1p too. I'm also playing on EU servers (mostly DayZtv.com.private), but as the OP said, they are always low pop... Even on 3p servers, I play in 1p ;-) but I hope the 1p players will be return later in development. -
Great ideas. I would like to see picutres in houses of people who lived there. A family which had a picnic at black lake, workers who made a group photo at kamensk mine, veterans in their mil uniform infront of a hanger and so on. The pictures should be make with the character models which we (will) have as survivors, same clothes which we can wear, etc. But I think it would be too much work...would be great anyway:-)
