  1. I played the new experimental version ~3h, had one memory leak crash and some lag/desync. I haven't found a V3S, so I couldn't test it. The game runs smooth, but there where max 3 players (including me) on the server... Zeds are visible to me and sometime really laggy. Same with crafitng thing like the stone knife or a splint. Usually it's not working at the first time, even when the server has low population like this night. Locked some zeds in different houses, this seems to be working (worked in earlier versions, too - mostly).

    Bows, bows and bows.

    Why not? Sure, it's not a weapon for PVP, but it's a weapon to survive. @OP: I would like to see a longbow, which is more accurate and powerful then the improvised bow, too. Compound or takedown bows would be nice to have but isn't a must (for me). Spray paint arrows, etc. should be implemented. I think they will improve the bow(s) and gameplay around it later in development.

    Yes, in the end I killed the chicken with the sledgehammer. But I meant if you spot the chicken from 150m, try to sneak 30m behind it (I mean crouched, hiding behind bushes etc...) and take it out with the bow. That doesn't work, because (I think) it hears you over a great distance. But I believe this will be balanced in the future. Good question... You ask about the about the states of the new arrows. I can't say something about it - haven't seen a living target to try it out, but I believe I noticed that the arrow-(bullet)-drop were less compared to the improvised arrows. I'll give you an update if I could test it more intensive.

    I played for good 3 hours today. Some issues I noticed are: - memory error 2x - freeze at the loading screen of DayZ 1x - lags/rubberbanding/etc... - massive texture flickering on the "Bone Arrow" other stuff: - chickens don't drop feathers anymore - new chicken Ai is too "afraid"; the chicken knows that you follow them, whether or not you sneak or run (80m) behind them. It's impossible to hit one with the bow, you can't get close enough - I've only seen one zed in this session - in the middle of the woods - no (massive) framedrops for me Pics: Bone Arrow and Bone Hook

  10. I drank from a 100% PET bottle maybe ~8 times and still 99% left. Sodas are working for me, too. btw Black Lake and surroundings looking beautiful :) edit: Filling PET bottle/canteen and drinking from a pond working correctly for me. Only drinking form the bottle seems to be bugged.
  11. Same for me. Until now, one zed in Stary Sobor. New UI seems to be working. Made a fire and cooked some meat. I like the new mechanics. If the fuel (woodsticks/logs) are exhausted, give fuel into the fireplace and then you can blow air into the fireplace to restart it :wub: I noticed that if you press F3 and sit down, you can no longer spin around. Your char turns around very slow (maybe a bit too slow) - nice :) No problems for me to drive the V3S.
  12. I only tried it in 0.53 but if you put 5 stones in the fireplace there is a ring around. Sadly I couldn't try it in 0.54, maybe tonight, after the wipe. Since the V3S is in, had it always these tire marks? Or are they new? The new animal AI is really challenging. I tried to shoot a deer with the bow, but I couldn't get close enough. It ran away before I could reach it :) (I think chickens have the new AI, too. But they are easy targets :P ) Every time I'm driving a cargo V3S, the game (or server? I don't know) crashs. Is it bad luck or a bug? Tried it three time, same result - crash. That is, for me, the biggest issue in this build. Sometimes lags and desync. The main menu is still broken on my end.
  13. Played a couple of hours tonight - joined with -connect=IP in launch parameters. The loot was less on the coast but inland was good. Not to much, enough to survive. The hole time I played, there were max 8 players on the server. Most were kicked by BE. It took me a few trials to craft the stone knife (it always disappeared), like in the last exp. versions. Further I saw two chickens, thankfully, so I had enough feathers for selfmade arrows :) but sadly I saw no boar to craft me a backpack. The new (main-)menu looks very nice! :thumbsup: I like the clarity and the loading screen. But the player name is too close to the character model on ther main screen (like someone mentioned before). Someone knows if the new animal AI for deers are in?

    Hey guys. I have a question. Today I had the choice to take a Binocular or a Long Range Scope with me. I remembered me (or thought) they had the same zoom factor when the bino came into the game, but now they are very different as you can see on the screen. When did the devs changed it? I hadn't recognised it. Was it long ago? For me, it's a good decision. I like it :)

    Status Report - 17 Feb 15

    Every part which is mentioned is awesome, but these are ... fantastic! Hail to DayZ, baby! :D OT: I played some sessions the last days, (I think it was fine for me, no critical errors) and I started to play with the bow. It's really challenging. I hope they will do some improvements to it later in development :) So far, great work guys! Thank you so much :thumbsup:

It's worth it :) ) Yes you're absolutly right. I hope stamina in combination with weight balance the hole thing with the guns...

    Craftable Item : Bindle

    Yes I think that's the point. Sometimes it's really hard to find a rope, so it would be another options to carry some stuff with you. 6-10 Slots, that's enough and easy to craft. Stick + bandana/burlap sack. I like it too :)
  18. I had a very nice session this evening. First I met a guy in the middle of the sea on the way to the prison island. After we fought some bandits I died, headed back, and found some other nice guys. Ended up with 2 trucks (which were used as submarines from the other guys) and 6 friendly players! :thumbsup: :D Only small lags, no ctd, sometimes the crafting animation works but there were no items at the end. I was the first time at the new prison at it is awesome! Very detailed and the island looks nice. The armbands are a big improvment and they are easily visible. I think it's (almost) perfect... I couldn't say what should be done better :) Maybe they could add an option for more armbands on the leg and backpack. But for now it's sweet. The new items like the shovel or axe for the backpack are great. I also like the new clothes and the system that you can't place it with stuff inside in you backpack . Tomorrow I will try to find some animals :) So, I'm happy with the update, but I'm happier that there are more servers online and working for the experimental branch - THX :beans: :thumbsup:

  23. yes sadly...On the one hand it's good because the surrounding of the new mine is really nice, but I'm disappointed about the fact, that you can't enter the mine, like the old one. I really hope this will be changed in the future.
