  1. How should they fix the core mechanics, if the New tech is NOT implemented yet? That's not working. Be Patient, I think the devs know what they do :-)

    constant surprises

    You have to look what server you choose. There are: - 1st person/3rd person PUBLIC hive - 1st person PUBLIC hive - 1st person/3rd person PRIVATE hive - 1st person PRIVATE hive On the public servers, you have always the same character - one for 1st/3rd person and one for 1st person. On the private servers, you have one character for this specific private server. If you join another private, you will start as a freshspawn. Some communities have more private servers, which are sharing one hive, so can play with one char on multiple servers - but that's an exception. Normally you have one char per private hive. You also have to choose your log point wisely. You can get killed nearly everywhere while logging out or in. But in the woods, for example, it's less dangerous. Hope that helps. edit: The part with falling of scaffolds is (mostly) cause by the desync between the player and the server. There are no optimizations yet. Choose a server with a good ping, that helps, but it can happend anyway.

    netting?

    But netting should be common in DayZ too. I don't need and I don't care about the ghillie, but I want to use netting to craft the fishing trap. The trap gets borken so fast (ok, no balance here) and the netting is so rare, it's not worth it now. It also shouldn't spawn exclusively at boats.

    I'm sure, that will be change with the new player controller and animation system. Why should they work on things like this, when the whole tech will be replaced. Maybe it's just not worth it for the devs now?!

    Instant infection.

    "Ahh! Why are the zombies so fast/hard/angry?! Simply put - the hostile humanoid A.I. in the DayZ universe are not zombies. The angry, screaming, filthy A.I. you encounter scattered throughout the Chernarusian country side are human beings infected with a highly communicable virus that drives them into a blood thirsty rage. These people are very much alive, unlike the traditional "zombie", and thus can be killed with shots to the body - rather than just headshots.   7. Another idea related to the ocean (and the coast). At first, there sould be definitly an option for diving, but I want to go further... I would like to see scuba tanks and flippers (in collaboration with houseboats [http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/227990-houseboats/] :D ). This would be nice for dynamic (maybe static, because dynamic is hard to find in the ocean) events, like sunken ships or crashed planes. There could be 2-3 sunken (maybe two cargo and one military) ships/planes further afar from the coast. They could have some "save-boxes", so the loot wouldn't be damaged through the water, (maybe they are looked and you needed a lock pick to open it) with different and rare loot in it. Scuba tanks,flippers and neoprene suit would be the optimal option. This way you could dive longer and deeper than with no or minor gear. But you should be able to dive without any special gear - just a short time. Apart from that, there could be spawn diving goggles and snorkels. With this equipment you could search from the water surface for the ship wracks, but you shouldn't be able to dive as long as with diving gear. Of course, you should be able to train your stamina with soft skills, so you can longer dive than as a freshspawn. Also, there should be neoprene suit, because the water is very cold if it's not summer time. So you would have just a small timeframe to swim or dive. Waterproof flashlights would be nice, too. That way you could search for wracks at night. Tell me your thoughts and make some comments!   8. No, I never played Stranded Deep, but it looks quite good. Maybe it's worth a try?, watched some videos after your post. But DayZ is still my favorite (survival) game. So I want to see something like this more in Dayz, than buying another game. Thanks anyway! :)

    But it could be much more! Yeah, I see your point. And yes, it's nice that you try to take the things we have already in-game or which are coming in the near future (which we definitly know). But why not go a little bit further. It's still alpha, the devs still have time and Mr. Hicks said, that they will support DayZ at least two years after the release (not just bug fixes). So why not? But, I think this is the only real thing which is..."bad" in DayZ, for me - the background story. The devs don't want to tell us their vision of the infected, the virus and the past. Because they want, that we make our story. And for me the infected are more like in the movie "The Crazies". Everybody has another understanding of DayZ's Story...which can be confusing sometimes. But yes, I support your idea in every direction. Even just the buildings from your suggestion would be awsome to see in Dayz :thumbsup: :)

    So, I don't want to see super mutant infected too. These aren't zombies. These are humans which are infected with a virus, so the infected would get sick of the radiation too. And of course, they would die after a periode of time too, like we - the players. But IF they would die, we had no infected in the base and it would be too easy to get the loot there. Protective clothes would be necessary for the players to get in the base or in some parts of the base and stay healthy. When players wouldn't wear protective clothes, they still could go there but with a extremly high risk to become sick because of the radiation. And it's not easy or nearly impossible to get well again after a huge contamination. In short: super zeds = NO; protection agains radiation = of course :)

    There could be also a "hidden entrance", a wastewater pipe from the facility to the contaminated lake. On the end of the pipe could be a grid which you have to remove to use the pipe to get in the base. The pipe chould be connected to all parts of the base and so small that you could only crawl in it. This way, it would take much time and high risk to reach the other end inside of the base. This "secret passage" should only be useable with protective suits, because the radiation is highly concentrated, through the contaminated water, and you would die in minutes, if you go there without a suit and mask. Even with a protective suit, you would need many medicals stuff, but with a (very) low chance/or it should take a long time to get back to a healthy state, if you choose this entrance. This way, solo players could get to the yellow areas without help from other players, but with a high risk of an infection?!

  14. Oh yes, that's a good point. I also thought about diving schools. It would be plausible to find the such gear there. Anyway, there should be much more specialized buildings in Chernarus, like as you said diving schools, fishing stores, tool shops, etc. where you can find specialized gear. The devs could (maybe) use buildings which are in-game right now and add signs and different interior to it, or create totally new buildings - I know lots of work. In Berezhki we have this wooden building which would match for a diving school, I think. Just add some lockers or boxes which hold the gear. Of course you should be able to find this - relative rare - gear also inland in residential houses/areas. Then copy this and add one in Kamenka and one on Skalisty Island, for example.
  15. Yep, I would really like to see diving in A3, too. But it would be amazing to see it in DayZ. I love to explore the mainland Chernarus and diving would give DayZ another great option. The more we have to explore the better is it. Yes, malfunctions are a great idea. They could be bound on the stats of your equipment - pristine = very low risk/ damaged = high risk that e.g. your oxygen bottle gets broken. But it should be possible to maintain/replace certain parts of the gear (like tubes), so you wouldn't have to search for a complete new one.

    I like the idea of an extremely dangerous endgame area, sounds great! :beans: Especially this part is very interessting. Maybe not just "special" infected could have these informations, there could be also spawn some (locked?) briefcases with informations inside. I think the devs have plans with something like this. Mr. Nespesny wrote on twitter: "Yes, there will be tear gas grenade and most probably certain areas will be contaminated.", in context with the new gas mask. And the part of the map, which you chose, would fit perfect, for such a scenario :thumbsup:

    Houseboats

    So I thought about houseboats. I would love to see them in-game, even if they are maybe not so useful like camps inland of Chernarus+. They should only be craftable, but they should: - hold ~250items (in boxes or different containers, which you can be placed by your own) - have an oven inside - have places for some torches/candles on it They should only be craftable on the water, this means: - craft (or find?) a small boat first - load the materials and tools on it - build it directly on the ocean (or a big pond): - floats und platform - anchor (or another heavy object) - walls - roof - ofen, containers and little attachments - the full houseboat should require five full loaded boats or better said five loads of a boat. It has pros and cons, like everything in DayZ SA. Pro: - far away from the coast - (sea) fishing should be possible - warmth - other players can't easily go there and loot it - ... Contra: - hard to craft = many items and materials would be required - it should take much time to craft it = easy target - flammable - no drinking water, if you place it on the sea (but you should be able to place it in the middle of e.g. Black Lake, if you want) - you have to go back to the mainland, because you need resources like fire wood, water, and so on... - ... more ideas: - you should be able to tie up 2-4 houseboats = more room and storage - you could just build the floats and platform and place one big or two medium tents on it - heavy weather effects like storms (and tsunamis?) - if we get this -, could damage the houseboat = you would lost some items or parts of the boat e.g. roof/wall - I'm not sure, if it should have an engine? Maybe it should be a static base, not a mobile base - maybe you could pull it with 2-3 boats to another place? - ... Feel free to share your thoughts!     These are very good ideas! I like them. And the hoseboats shouldn't be bigger than one of these little wooden shed, which we have in game right now. Better a little bit smaller.

    Houseboats

    - was just an idea, it doesn't have to work on Black Lake. I added it just for the logic part; if you can place it in the ocean, why not in a pond or even a river, if it's big enough... ;) But yes, that would be a balance thing. Ocean only is enough for me :D - to limit the ocean: - the devs could add a line off buoys along the coast (~2km away from the coast); you couldn't get behind the buoys line, not with a normal boat or the houseboat - ofc, the devs have to set up the view of lights and objects, than the houseboat would be visible from the coast; + - later we will get helicopters too, so it wouldn't be a problem to spot houseboats - it would be easier as searching bases in the woods and - with houseboats we would have another "end game" feature Yes, the northern part of Chernarus+ is really nice and made with love, but you don't need to go back to the coast. There is nothing interessting atm (for me), which is sad, because it's really nice there (sunrise!). Prison and Skalisty Island are beautiful places, but it's (yet) not worth going there most time. If I could place a houseboat between those islands, I would love to paddle with a boat between these places and take a break at the boat base. and Thanks for the replies! :)

    Status Report - 14 Aug 2015

    yep, very nice things are mentioned in this presentation. I'm very exited for the Soft Skills too - it's all about the balance. The basebuilding description sounds very good, and I'm happy that Mr. Hicks doesn't want skyscraper bases in this game :thumbsup: Infected hordes as server events are awesome. Can't wait for the next half year. It will be fantasic! Thank you! :beans:

    [HORTICULTURE] TREE PLANTING

    I would go a step further and I would love to see that the trees in Chernarus are persistent too. If you chop trees to build a camp, get firewood and so on, you have to reforest the trees. If not there are just the trunks (which are ingame now) left. But I like the idea very much, especially the fruit trees. Planting bushes should be possible too.
