    You are forgetting this is a Z apocalypse, not the bush bush. Staying alive long enough to find water and food should be your primary concern.

I disagree. Looting nwaf can't be safe especially just after reset. Most will take risk over grind. Personally I would gear up on high populated servers and then bugger off to low pop to play with the Z while being paranoid about potential snipers.

If you claim this is not the case in DayZ; Loot respawn and server migration. ""Post apocalyptic means, the whole world is f**ked"" Ah, so we agree? ""so if you think it's wise to supercharge your vehicle in times when petrol barely exists! you are wrong."" At no point did i mention wanting to supercharge my vehicle. If you're trying to say the availability of respawning fuel should be limited so gas guzzlers might not be practical for fuel economy reasons, we could agree. ""The farthest I would like to see cars go is blocking windows with sheets of metal and such."" Why not allow complete redesign of the coach? To much freedom for the kids to handle? TTP in under an hour? Why we can't have nice stuffs? ""Survival game is about making it as tough as possible to live. Food and water should be the top priority, keeping zombies away"" I couldn't help but noticing Z are last in this row while imo they should be first and foremost.
  5. The road to hell is paved with private servers. Jokes aside, you agreed the measure is effective if the risk balances out the loot. I don't see why we should disconnect lone wolves and PvE players from the public hive. There is no such thing as playing solo unless you're all alone on the server, which, under the system you proposed, would yield little loot.
  6. If you can't find a melee weapon in a Z apocalypse in under 2 minutes, this is not a survival game.

    Achievements

    Eventually, hopefully, killing Z will be a vital part of survival. Achievements are things you manage to do in game because of player skill. Satisfaction is derived from accomplishing something difficult, like constructing a near invisible base or headshotting 9 out of 10 Z. Not from mindless grinding.
  8. As long as it's obvious there is a significantly higher chance of finding the good stuff on populated servers, the measure will be effective. You can allow some good loot on less populated servers for the lone wolves and PvE crowd. They are most likely not that interested in joining the KOS meat grinder state the alpha is currently in.

  13. OMG M4 accuracy is atrocious. I love the idea of wind affecting trajectories, but can we pretty please get some more accuracy to begin with? This on top of the other is just to much imo.

    No, that's an apocalyptic setting. This game takes place after the equivalent of that. Survival in a post apocalyptic setting, especially by yourself, is like being behind enemy lines without a way to get back.

    Gameplay vs Realism

    No, you're not. ""In DayZ, the human element is a lot stronger as often the only monsters you are faced with are real people trying to survive in real conditions."" You mean in the current alpha. This is not DayZ yet. ""If you want a game that focuses more on game-play than realism, try the old mod."" There are 1000's of games that cater to those who don't care about realism. That's also 1 of the reasons there are so many players that don't mind and even crave unrealistic features. ""More guns and less realism is not going to make anyone happy."" Apparently it makes some people happy. "Removing features for the sake of catering to people that don't like them when a majority have come to appreciate the feature isnt either." I suppose we can reintroduce segregation then? They've stopped claiming to want realism. They openly admit they don't care and have bought the game cause of the hype.

    I'd say a post apocalyptic setting doesn't differ much from a war setting. I'd really like to change the car from the chassis up. All the mechanical parts can be cookie cutter but imo there should be the option for a player designed coach. This will increase the vehicles efficiency and functionality based on player skill. Basically base building for vehicles.

  20. Round up a couple 100 Z and then shoot them. Preferably in a city. Make sure to record. Will be epic.
  21. If we don't allow for switching servers, we limit the interactions with other players to the 40 or so that are on that server. If we do allow for switching servers, looting will happen (unless somehow prevented). The easy fix would be 1 character per server. Want to play on a different server? Create another character. (No loot switching between characters, obviously.)

Had they left it out from the start, there wouldn't have been an issue. If BI is stuck with 3pp because there are many players that don't care about immersion / realism, how will that influence the rest of the development of the game?

  24. I've seen way worse. I've seen masses of 'em spawn right in front of you. Path finding entailing a straight line. Client side Z (so you had to remember which ones are "yours"). The horrors...
