Agreed, no coded town areas. All settlements should be player made. No Z spawning zone inside the enclosed area? And how if so desired?

Still the question is legit and more information would be much appreciated. Server restarts are irrelevant as there will be loot respawning everywhere. They will just hop to a quadrant with loot. Granted, they may have to hop a few servers before they find one. Once vehicles are introduced, it might be more appealing to drive to the next quadrant or get the quadrant to respawn loot.

As it's likely not going to be in the SA: Player designed coachwork. Redesign your vehicle to suit your needs (weight limit based on chassis). Need a flatbed with armored cab to "safely" haul stuff but all you've got is a bus? Make it yourself with this blowtorch and welder (now for only 100 cans of beans at Z-mart)

Turning off shadows should imo not be allowed. It takes away an important aspect of camouflage.

I think removing loot would have to happen within at least 1000m to get any effect. This would have the disastrous side effect of wiping clean an entire city should someone be troll enough to spawn there.

In fact, the forest itself should cover it. Matches just make it a hell of a lot easier. If you want the deluxe indoor model complete with chimney, stone cutting (i mean shaping, not mining) and physics based construction could be on the menu. Now there's a time sink worth sinking time in to. Seriously you guys, crafting has been done. Be original.

Crafting a fireplace? What's next, crafting tied shoelaces? I wouldn't mind building a fireplace if there was some creativity and skill to it, but this sounds an awful lot like another time sink. Please tell me I'm wrong and it won't be what it sounds like?

At some point survival turns in to organized survival, then civilization followed by wars, trade, politics and all the other good stuff a growing sandbox game needs. I want creative base building, not just barricading. I want player designed coachwork on vehicles. I want more than just hanging on by my fingernails. You don't want that in DayZ?

To achieve this "surviving" you speak of, I'm going to need certain items. Depending on where the devs are taking this game, I might need LOADS of items just to survive. Is there at some point in the game going to be room for thriving?

The lrs is just a symbol. What I wanted to address is "grinding". The fact you suggest server hopping tells me you agree excessive grinding is no fun.
