Im fine with storage as long as it relocates to an unknown position when the character dies. Upon death, the character will produce a lootable map with an x marking the new location. His friends, enemies or himself if he can manage to loot his own body, can use this map to dig up his stuff. -
I think both should be possible. We require a system that is flexible enough to make custom designed bases / fortifications. I want to be able to angle parts, vary shapes and sizes and use different materials with their own properties.

No. In case of NV, it requires anyone that wishes to play at night (without even more of a death wish than usual) to have this item. IR is even worse as it also "ruins" (by that i mean you might as well make me carry a red 100m tall pole with a nice flag which states; Shoot Me Now Please, Im A Noob Cause I Haz No IR And Start Every Word In This Motto With A Capital Letter.) daytime play for anyone not in possession of this item.

Dont be Lame. (zing) But seriously, death comes all to easy in dayz without having to worry about poorly healed compound fractures or slowly turning into robobandit. I do think it should take a bit of time to heal wounds. Maybe you deserve 15 minutes of crawling for getting your leg broken.

How about putting items in game that allow for games to be created by the players, rather than the devs. i.e. Dartz Z-Discus Bambi / Bandit Bowling And my personal favorite; KoS golf. A headshot should knock the KoS'er unconscious. For semi-pro KoS golfers it is recommended to handcuff the KoS'er and break 1 or both legs before playing the hole. (maybe pun intended) Survive playing 18 holes on pro level on the same character to attain Legend status.

I think most animations are placeholders. Expect massive improvements (just not anytime soon).

""Who will defend it when you offline?"" Bases can only be attacked when at least 1 of the base members (character) is playing dayz. Maybe If all members log out during an attack, the base surrenders. This to avoid exploiting the above. ""dificult to develop"" Thats no excuse. It is reasonable to assume that great things require great effort. I can wait for excellence but shall not stand for mediocrity.

How Much Time Has Passed Since The "outbreak" Happened?

As there will be loads of Z around (eventually), i would say a week or so after zero hour. Thats more than enough time for the Z to infect loads and for everybody else to gtfo in a hurry. -
What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?

My biggest fear is that they will cut corners in order to speed up development. There are a lot of things that need to be completely reworked like i.e. the inventory system, animations, buildings, you know, all the problems inherited from arma 2.5 Last but not least, the Z. At the moment they are underwhelming. This has innumerable disadvantages to gameplay and balance testing of what should imo be the core of this game. In order to preserve the classic Z feel, their strength has to come from sheer numbers. I think the individual Z is powerful enough as it is, it just needs a few more abilities like break walls / windows / doors instead of simply walking to the front door. imo Z should not be that smart. Making Z smarter to amp up their threat level feels like cutting corners to me. -

Picture this -get shovel -dig hole -get crate -put crate in hole -fill crate with non perishables -protect metal object with oiled shirt lest they degrade. -exit crate -cover hole -mask covered hole -put x on map The only way to detect these hidden treasures would be to cover the floor inch by inch while in inventory. (Or you could follow a player around until he shows you) -

Thats simply not true, but i know what you mean. ""the guys with crafted spears."" Those are probably players that think survival is supposed to be primitive and romantic. Dont worry, they wont last long. I would like to see bows cause theyre nice and quiet. Time / Place / Grade / Type should all vary. p.s. Z should not bleed. -
