Regarding the question why we do not release the version on Xbox earlier: This is because the two platforms share the same database, meaning updates to it have to be released at the same time. On a positive note, the delay allowed us to add some additional performance and crash fixes into the build.

No. No, but you will be able to see killed players in the logs. No, that will not be possible. Currently there are no plans for this. Duplication requires in many methods the switching of servers. As private servers are using different characters than other servers, these methods will not work. Further duping exploits will be fixed by us with every update. You will have access to the messages.xml for server messages and certain aspects of the serverDZ.cfg. At the start the server password will be the sole way to keep other players out. But we are looking into possibilities for a Whitelist-setup, which would allow you to define who will be able to join your server. A removal from the whitelist would equal a ban. Making other players admin will not be possible. No, the logs will be monitoring to a certain degree what is happening on the server. However, they will not include individual player-data for privacy reasons. No, not at the moment. EDIT: To clarify a bit on these pretty harsh sounding answers: This is the first implementation of the private servers for console. We will take this slow and monitor how you are using it. In the meantime, we will evaluate the possibilities of enabling further options to customise your servers, and expand on administrative possibilities, such as the whitelisting mentioned above.

Theoretically a second application of the defibrillator should wake you back up. Our QA will look into it.

You can avoid the position reset by playing on the same server continuously. You will always receive a warning while connecting to a new server, where you have the option to cancel the connection. That you are spawning right next to other players should theoretically not happen (or highly unlikely), but we will monitor this.

As harsh as it may sound, the problem is letting a group of infected come close to you. 😉 Ranged weaponry is used for ranged fighting. You can try to fight your way out with the firearm melee or switching to a better melee weapon. But even with strong melee weapons we wouldn't recommend to try pick a fight against a bigger group of infected. They're rushing you with full force after all.

I just want to make sure you have not only read our Status Report, but also our addition to it, as it clarifies certain points such as the interpretation that there would be "no further development", which is false. Feature development has not stopped, and our team is looking into further improving the game. The missing survival experience (guess that's what you are hinting at) is mostly due to balancing issues (as every new addition can change the entire balancing of the game and we don't want updates to be unplayable), which was mentioned in our Status Report as one of our priorities to focus on.

It's correct that despawn should not happen as long as a player is close to the body, as that would be kinda immersion breaking.

Private servers will have individual characters, so that should not interfere with your experience, if I understand your question correctly. So if you are playing with two different characters on two different servers, you will not receive a position reset, as you can't get a position advantage through it.

Hello PS4 Survivors. We are sorry to inform you that we've had an issue with five of our server machines. In consequence, we have lost 10 servers and their databases. By now all 10 servers have been replaced with new ones, so that you can continue playing. Sadly, it will not be possible for us to restore the lost bases. We apologise for the inconvenience. You need to be a bit more precise what you would like to see improved in terms of "playability", it's a pretty broad term. Yes, DayZ was designed for PC at the start and is still receiving a depth that makes it difficult to be transitioned to consoles. But we would like to share as much of the depth that makes DayZ so unique with both console communities, while trying to make it still fun to play. As @Duck Solo already expressed, while we try to avoid wipes, this one sadly is necessary.

The missing character creation is a console specific issue that we sadly will not solve with 1.04. And yes, even if you wait several hours between switching the servers, your position will be reset. You will receive a warning while logging in though, so you can cancel the connection in case you accidentally joined the wrong server.

As said in the Status Report, we will not commit to it. But "complex" is relative, which is the main point here. You can always make an idea more complicated, for example broken limbs including recovery times with changing animations and much more. So we would like to expand on the medical gameplay, but there will be a limit as to how detailed we can make it. I see what you did there, but DayZ as a game is old. People on these forums are not registered since 2012 because they are just playing DayZ for 7 months (and probably gathered thousands of hours each). And the game concept itself never changed, so we are truly blessed to see this amount of players (on PC alone) for our title.

The rough explanation is that players can get sick in the game. Most diseases are spread via agents. Agents are what gets transferred from items to items (by liquid transfer), players to players (by coughing, sneezing) and players to items (by consumption). The player's immunity system, if strong enough, kills the agents, otherwise the agent grows and -reaching a certain threshold- will trigger a disease. Agents on items can be cleaned off with appropriate items (water purification, disinfectant, cooking..) Players can find medical items around the world, which will provide a help in countering the agent infection. But you have to see that the forums here only represent a certain very hard core of all players, and that this system is obviously already way more complicated than many other games out there offer, making it more difficult to grasp for newcomers, and to a certain degree frustrating if even balanced slightly wrong. Namalsk is not the official DLC discussed in this Status Report. There will be more features, more details on that at a later stage. As mentioned in the Status Report, the Survivor GameZ are currently intended as a free Alpha test, while we consider them for an additional game mode. However, there will be a paid DLC at the end of the year (which is not Survivor GameZ, nor Namalsk). Regarding that, we stand by our word that no previously promised features will be hidden behind a paywall.

More information on the private servers will be provided once we get closer to the update release. Duping is an issue that will most probably never be fixed completely. What we do is check and fix all prominent reproduction steps that come to us. So this is not a guarantee that everything is fixed, but it is one more step in our constant efforts to fight it. It is similar for meatballing, we have tested and fixed several methods that have been reported to us. But even with this update goes: If you see any possible exploit, report it to us as soon as possible, so that we can get working on a fix.
