    @noentry45 Rest assured that we are aware of the current focus of attention, which is again why we use every opportunity - such as this one - to explain that the Stress Tests are in no way representing the final game. DayZ is of course not meant to be excluding towards new players, but we aren't trying to appeal to "mainstream audiences" either. You find reassurances on our course of game design in practically each and every Status Report. @Espa thank you for your kind words and trust, even if we don't reply directly we try to read as much of your feedback as possible.

    First of all thank you for taking the time for writing your thoughts down. But there is a lot of unnecessary worrying among the community right now, because everyone is discussing their doubts and fears about every single thing on the Stress Tests. Please be aware that the Stress Tests do NOT resemble the final state of the game in any form. An example is discussing the first implementation of soft skills right now on our build. This iteration you are seeing right now is by no means final and therefore any discussion about it is completely unnecessary at this point in time. There is still so much missing to the complete DayZ experience that features can't be seen in their entirety by now. So while we appreciate your patience and passion to send us your feedback, please don't have unnecessary worries that what is now in the Stress test will stay forever.

    The reason the updates took so long is because of the massive engine changes that will be mostly complete with 0.63 Experimental. So additional updates will come way quicker. And it's normal that there are not always exactly 100 big patches from 0.01 to 1.0.

    A few questions, that was quite a read :O Sorry if I do some nutpicking or ask specific questions. in the dropdown list for Experimental Release To-Do you have two times the point Gameplay - why? At the DayZ Beta Features > Servers > Local database you mention "Server side mission", is this related to actual in-game missions or something else? The UMP45 is mentioned in both Post Release Content and Beta Content, which one is it? You talk about console versionS and bringing it to console players. But specifically you only mention Xbox. Is there already an update if PlayStation players will be able to play DayZ next year? You have the same description below DAYZ BETA CONTENT and 1.0 / POST RELEASE FEATURE GOALS, is this a mistake or on purpose? Because I can't make sense out of it in the context of the post release feature goals. In the 1.0 / POST RELEASE FEATURE GOALS > planned features you mention "water streams". Does this mean you have more solid plans to bring "realistic" rivers to DayZ or is this still hoping? Again thanks for all the information, though it's a bit tricky to understand sometimes. I really hope you are able to fulfill your promisses for 2018 or the community will go nuts. :-/ Best of success and keep up the good work.

    Characters and persistence wipe on Stable servers this week

    I guess because it's the final punishment before dying. The bloodloss is caused by having not enough blood to regain consciousness, it would be useless to magically let people wake up with nearly no blood left. Nevertheless you still have the chance to get help by teammates. Call it helplessness, but that's how you die out there if you do not keep a good eye on your health: slow.

    Maybe not exclusively your topic, but are there plans for a stronger environmental storytelling? I'd love to find out more about Chernarus and other placeswhile wandering the landscapes. Just details like that the factory in Vybor was actually a brewery once. Of course it would be nice to get to explore the lore of DayZ, but I'd be happy with just more details in the environment, so that players can feel more connected to the cities and their history.

    One question @Hicks_206 (DayZ) , would be great if you could answer it :) In 2013 you made the decision to bring the game into early access with an engine, that afterwards was not enough to fulfill the expectations - coming along with the (unexpectedly high?) salesnumbers. Would you say, that this decision made the strongest impact on the slow progress of the ongoing development over the past years?

    Can only underline the 2 previous comments. You are trying to inform the community, but maybe 10% is reading it and 5% understanding. You are extremely transparent about your development, more than most other games I know and I hope you do not sacrifice too much time of the development for talking to a community consisting of many people that do not listen to you anyway.     back to the good old loot system :D spawned directly next to 10 chainsaws, bear traps and landmines, every book in the game, and enough food to last till the central economy is reimplemented. Waiting for May...

    4 hours in...

    welcome to the game, you sound like a nice and reasonable guy, that´s great :D regarding to the graphics/textures, the game stands on a quite old engine, most problems result from it. the buildings and their textures (and quite the entire map) are also way older than the standalone. The team is step by step trying to improve everything, but in my personal opinion you can expect heavy bugs way beyond 2015. What leads me to your player encounter: the problem with actions not working can result from lags. the moving problem is quite new to me and i hope it was no hacker, the team focussed on that issue during the last months. zombie development is right at the moment a big issue, so on that we can expect improvements soon hopefully. but as i said, i personally do not expect a "optical and mechanically very good and fluent working" game till 2017, they´ll improve it step by step, and that´s what the alpha is for. i sometimes see it more as a pre-alpha.
  19. support gold bars without use. maybe a coin to throw and papermoney to burn. fractions: nope. zombies are dead = why should they be smart? maybe stronger, maybe more, but this is in work i think. i also thought about training your character for accuracy and general success of things, just to prevent bambies from hitting one guy with a military helmet with 2 fisthits unconcious, stealing his AK and killing his 3 friends without any problem. I see the problem that it would prevent you from saying "i´m a trained, medical experienced survivalexpert stranded at a beach without stuff or memory." but it would open options for becoming trained medic/soldier/farmer/hunter, or whatsoever.

    the important point is that at the moment the military stuff is in nearly every option the best stuff. (heating/cargo-space/camoflage). And thats why everyone is taking it except of some roleplayers.

    mh, difficult topic. I understand that a player is now for some "just another source of meat". The problem is, that implementing mental changes like madness would interfere with roleplaying. What I would find interesting is, when your condition would define how much meat you are giving (for example someone healthy => stuffed 4 steaks; someone starving => none). this would maybe at least give roleplayers something they can play with and not directly kill every player they see just cause of cannibalism. personally I´m against showing other persons personality/actions on their outside, it prevents a plottwist. and just leads to "red mouth => KoS", while in the real life cannibals live unrecognised.

    Suicide Option?

    well, as they recently implemented the feature of drowning yourself I might have a comment on this. I don´t understand the need of some people to suicide. but as everyone is crying for this, here a few options, better than: I´m lying in the water and drowning myself or jumping of any small building. So i would like to see the height from which you die falling down enhanced to towers and the highest buildings. rest can break legs/bleeding/damage. Other suggestions for suicides: - shooting yourself with a chambered weapon (Immediate death) - cut veins with a knife (strong bleeding => death) - hang yourself on trees (immediate death) with wire/rope every suicide should go together with a penalty, as bean king already said before.
  23. as they already implemented the feature of overheating from too many clothes this is getting interesting. i like all kinds of diversity, as long as the balancing is fine, i´m in.

    How doors/gates should work

    seen from the gameplay-side, it is a disadvantage if you have to move through the door to open it in case there is a camper behind it. i like the option like it is at the moment, not 100% realistic when its opened to the other side, but fair for players on both sides.

    thumps up for beards ... yeah, only for men. the shaving option is not that important to me, that can be left to the modders.
