  1. Radio masts and towers are, typically, tall structures designed to support antennas (also known as aerials) for telecommunications and broadcasting, including television. But as we all know this is the apocalypse, so 99 percent of all telecommunication has seized to exist. Existing types of communication in DayZ are: Walkie Talkies (uses small battery) Megaphone (uses small battery) radio backpack (uses car battery) public announcement system (static, can be found in certain cities/villages, uses car battery) So the towers have no real communication value in DayZ, just because you don't have the power/technology available to make use of them. However, for future updates we are preparing the Altar Radio Station to give you the biggest communication relay in Chernarus.

    Just to clarify, you mean the hydration icon on the far right? Because we already had a case when a player could not see the hydration icon, as it was outside of his screen and mistook the blood icon for hydration. And what do you mean glitched?

    Since the launch we have roughly 450 servers for the Game Preview, this number has not changed. However, due to the current server issues we permanently have servers disappearing from the list, which need to be restarted. This is why the list appears shorter than at the beginning. Following our engine improvements all weapons need to be re-implemented, which takes time and resources. Core gameplay elements have priority over a variety of weapons. What kind of workaround did you use? It will be implemented with priority, it is a necessary part of player interactions in DayZ. The issues you've mentioned are known and the team is working on fixes. The server stability being a priority of course. Thank you a lot for taking the time to write all of this down here, we really appreciate it.

    Unable to jump/run

    not being able to sprint/jump can be connected to a lack of stamina when carrying huge amounts of equipment. Not being able to walk however is a new one, can you describe the issue?

    This is not a glitch. When using the PU scope you are able to use both the iron sight (below the scope) and the scope. You can switch between those two by holding RB while aiming down sights.

    Connectivity issues??

    Right now we are experiencing server issues which can affect full and also nearly empty servers. Try to connect to servers with a population around 15 players. The team is working on a fix for the server issues.

    The database lock is a security measure to stop players from repeatedly joining different servers. Right now it's triggered by all the server crashes. The database locks should be resolved within an hour and we also try to unlock players regularly. Again, the database lock itself is not the issue, it is an intended measure which is currently falsely triggered by the server crashes.

    While we consider to make more servers available depending on the player numbers, for now please connect to the NL servers, they should offer the best connection for players in the EU.

    The game is still under massive development, the closed preview is just for testing purposes. We are looking into the existing issues and working on solutions.

    This kind of starting equipment is limited to the closed preview and the trial version, so that players get a faster impression on what they can do in the game and we get more feedback on the core gameplay.

    I cant play on any server

    You have the Stress Test version installed, so you can only play on Stress Test servers. To switch your version, go into your DayZ Beta properties in your Steam library.
  22. There won't be a Stress Test today. As there is one more game crash to fix we are not comfortable yet with letting it run over the weekend. A short term Stress Test does not make sense with this patch as we are looking for long-term feedback and issues. Again, Stress Tests are for us to gather live data and go straight to fixing them. We are aware that you have been waiting for this patch and can't wait to get your hands on new content, but Stress Tests are NOT for player amusement and teasing features. That part comes with Experimental and Stable.
