  1. So recently Dean said that Day Z was fundamentally flawed. I'm assuming he's talking about the limitations of the engine. But has he ever discussed what he thinks the perfect multiplier game could be? What would make a game the perfect multiplayer game.
  2. That's all the article said. I can't copy paste it for some reason but the article said that he said it can never be the ultimate muliplayer experiece with that spark in it. That's all it says. So what am i missing *bows down

    Dogs

    Yeah dogs will probably get in the game. I just hope they are like really rare. It would be awesome to have a dog, but not if 99 other players did too. Also, low on food. Time to mow down on lassie :P
  6. Ok just had a cool little moment. Zombies are pretty cool now. I was on experimental and kinda forgot about the zombie respawning. Server only had like 10 people on it so I figured I might be ok if I crawled around a little bit and looked for a stick (i broke my leg earlier). So I crawl out of the jail in Elektro and I have a pistol, with no magazine, but plenty of ammo. Chamber a round, shoot a zombie. Rinse, repeat. I did this for a little while but there was more than I thought there was going to be. A few got to me and I started bleeding and had no bandages. But I stopped them. I search the office building but couldn't find anything. I was running out of time. I decide the only way I'm gonna live is if someone helps me. I start shooting my gun into the air in the middle of the street, hoping it will attract someones attention. Well it did, just not the kind i was looking for. MORE zombies start coming from around the corners. I see someone in the distance. I started crying out for help, the person sees me fighting the zombies, and slowly just walks away. I bleed out, dead.

    Your Rage Quit Moments

    I had just got back from balota airfeild, had weapons and nice gear. I was running around in elektro and starting get shot at from these 2 guys. I didn't have my gun out, was kinda in the open, and there was 2 of them. I started hauling ass, trying to lose them in between houses. But of course, i can't fucking jump over the fence, so I slow vault over it like a jack ass and get shot. But I'm still alive so I keep running. Eventually i almost make it to the trees. I will lose them here easily. Oh but wait, there a fucking .00001 degree incline change so i better start fucking walking up this hill. They manage to get another shot on me and it breaks my leg. Fuck. I get behind a tree. Then, some fresh spawn, or one of these guys' friends starts punching me to death. I have an axe, try to stand up but "c" won't fucking let me stand up. WTF why can't i stand up! (turns out i think they changed that in experimental, you can only go to crouch with broken legs now). So i was like wtf. Eventually i got into crouch mode and kill him but all hope is lost by now the guys with guns are right next to me. Bam im dead. That pissed me off quite a bit.
  8. On experimental. Seems like there are some more :) Perhaps not more but they are respawning so it feels like there are more.
  9. Sometimes when I play I don't care to use my mic. I usually do, but sometimes I just don't feel like it and would rather just chat through text. Most people don't want to play with you if you don't. So i'm just looking for peeps to play with that don't use a mic, or wouldn't mind playing with me. I really don't need to get any shit from the elitist day z masters telling me how to play the game either btw. Leave me alone :) If you wouldn't mind playing with me please add me: Kid Cloud Also I usually play on experimental servers.

    Spawning in the water?

    Playing on experimental today and I just spawned in the water. Can't find a way out either :P Anybody else spawn in the ocean?

    You are just a fool period. New features are coming. Check the recent dev blog. The game isn't cancelled. And Dean is still leading development. My god, where do people come up with this crap.
  12. Part of Day z is discernment. If you start allowing people to automatically be in a group, it takes away a whole element of the game.

    AUTO RUN KEY!

    The only reason I want it is so I can type while running. I don't always 100% of the time like to play with a mic. I'd like to be able to type while running and currently I have to stop everytime.

    I think Dean is probably the only dev with the balls to be completely transparent with his game. If he acted like the game was gonna be the best thing ever (like most shithead developers do) people would hate him, if he speaks the truth the about the game, people will still hate him. :huh: Like seriously wtf, I've never ever seen a developer so outright about the dev process and their limitations. Kudos to dean.

    Anyone have any problems with ammo disappearing?

    There was a box of ammo on the groud. I emptied it before putting it into my inventory and it just vanished into thin air.

    Bigger city?

    I just hope to see some larger interior structures. All the buildings kinda look big on the outside but they feel super small when you get in them.

    Is it too much to ask for smooth controls?

    This is probably my biggest gripe. The controls feel so awful. slow and unresponsive. I can barely get through a god damn door properly at times.
  21. Dean stated in the stream a couple days ago that he was satisfied with melee combat. Probably the only thing he said that didn't quite sit well with me. What do you all think? Personally I feel that it's quite wonky. Ever get in a fist fight with someone? It consists of people running around in circles swinging like madmen missing 90% of the time. It's chaotic, doesn't look/feel right. What do you think?

    How do you feel about melee combat?

    You are still able to raise and lower the axe just like you do when you with your fists. But when you have an axe and have it in the raised position, it swings off to the side. Next time try pressing spacebar and lowering it. Should help.

    Well for example I was swinging at a zombie and i was aiming at it, i was as close as I could possibly get to it, but it still only connected like 1/3 of the time when I swung. Doesn't help either that when you "raise" your weapon you swing to your side.

    What is with fall damage?

    So i've been playing on and off yesterday and today. Got my character some nice gear. Feeling pretty good about myself. I decided to check out this barn off the road a bit. Nothing in there, must have already been looted. Oh well, onward we go. Unfortunately i tripped down the stairs and fell to my death. Didn't even break my legs, just dead. I'd say I kinda hopped off the stairs about half way up. I kinda thought I might break my legs, it did seem kinda high. And i did fall a little ways but I've fallen from further heights without taking any damage, or maybe just breaking my legs so I don't really understand why i died here? Falling from heights seems to inflict random damage or something. I don't know if it really matters but my character was perfect health, energized, hydrated, etc. How come I died from such a tiny fall when i've either been fine or just broken my legs from falling much further?

    1. I've thought about that alot. I think it will force players to play more cautiously rather than shoot anything that moves (which seems to be what already happens). Also, there are going to be more cooperative elements in the game to encourage working together. I don't see it being a problem. I guess only time will tell. 2. "when it get's killed, trust me, it will hurt a lot more than now." It sure will alright :D Pretty sure that's the point. Dean has mentioned he wants death to be harsher. And you can practically nullify death if you have a friend who secures your gear for you while you run back to where you died. In other words, death isn't really a big deal at the moment in my opinion. This game is supposed to be about survival. It should be a huge deal when you die, currently it's not. -I have no idea why my txt is white, sorry.
