well, i did have the matches, i tried on 5 diferente servers with diferente fireplace kits(sticks, logs,paper) and diferent áreas(under roofs, on the street,on the forest) and it did not give me an option -
hey man there is a thread around here(and a lot more) http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/176140-crash-to-destkop-game-minimizes/page-2?hl=%2Bcrash+%2Bto+%2Bdesktop#entry1811171 there are some suggestions to lower some settings and get longer play times but at the moment the game crashes on certain GPU's i have recently upgraded my 260M to a 750Ti and i still haven't had a crash(played around 4 hours) but sometimes on my old card i could play for days without it crashing so, still trying it out what seemed to help me most was disabling anti aliasing and post processing like that give it a shot man!!

yeah,seems random, usually restarting the computer helped me to get longer sessions but it would always crash when i was with friends in the proximity for too long! currently the devs are fixing the client side crash as they said it in the devtracker,lets hope it has something to do with us aswell!!

Hey man, still no solution at this time after you get the crash if you alt+tab before it automatically takes you to the desktop you can see the warning that the driver crashed

hello mate, your specs get to the recommended? i remember that problem being somewhat regular a few months ago, the game lags and then it looks like minecraft right? check for GPU drivers or try to verify the cache of the game on steam

make sure your GPU drivers are up to date, also try to check cache of the game on steam, might be something corrupted?

Hey man Yesterday the servers were not working correctly, if you logged in at that time, it may have caused the reset another thing is, some servers are not connected to the central hive(by error) and if you keep joining those servers you will reset everytime you log to it(or any other) choose a server, give it a few laps, disconnect, reconnect, check if everything is the same as you left, and stick it to your favorites Got ninja'd!!!

There are servers that seem to not be connected to the hive therefore creating a kind of private shard(where only on that server you have that char) or even worse sometimes that every time you join it resets any char It was what happened, then he went back to the same server hoping they were not there and got killed

yeah,nice attitude man!! Regarding OP, your only chance is to create something in the bugtracker and keep in touch with it to see if something else is new but it is weird, you are the first(that i know of, pheraps there are more) that i know with this Windows 8 problem, is your pc gaming laptop or casual??which Windows version of 8, is it the 8.1? only bohemia games have this?? -
i stopped playing with no crash! but yesterday the game did hang up on me(diferente from the crash to desktop it happened) it did not exit to the desktop but it simply froze the image, had to force close it! (i was on speakers, so far with headphones did not happen so can't confirm anything yet)

well, i have played using both headphones and speakers with higher settings(AA on, and a bunch more of options as well) graphics on high , i do lag but it did not crash for half hour play cannot confirm anything...

Well, i normally use the headset when playing dayz as it is almost mandatory to have a mic and also i can hear with more detail everything, they are indeed USB connected, and most of the times i run it on with the headset as default! regarding the crashes, i have put everything on lowest settings and disabled most processing for the game itself(Vsync,etc...) so far, 1 crash a long time ago but other than that runs somewhat stable, will try to boost settings again and fire it up on speakers

Hey man have you tried disabling post processing and anti aliasing as well?? i am running without that and low graphics aswell and almost no crashes(sometimes once a month or something) but for now it is the best i can do man

Hey everyone i have been noticing a small issue with the main menu(i have noticed it only from .49 but i have not been very active on the game lately) if i exit a server and wait a few seconds on the main menu it gets very slow, the mouse itself is normal but it takes a very long time to highlight the menu options and i cannot rotate the char because it is very slow, so far no effect on the gameplay itself, all runing smooth and this does not affect me at all but just wanted to know if it happens to someone else!!
