  1. BUG REPORT:

    When taking a cooked chicken breast off of a stick, my client crashes.  This has happened twice now for the same thing.  Eating the meat directly off of the stick works fine, but dragging it off of the stick and into your inventory crashes.  I would try to repro more tan once, but it's hard enough getting into a server as is...

    Was he going to talk about AI differences in behaviors?  Was he going to talk about infected having inventories?  Was it something different like models and variety?

  3. Current things we noticed as a a group of 4-6 running around from Berezino inland, North, and West.  I know a lot of these have been mentioned already, just bear with me.

     

    -Matches are stackable now.  Medical supplies are, sadly, not stackable still.

    -New fireplace and stove models.  Couldn't interact with them :/

    -New damaged models on a few items it seems (epipens and steak knives)

    -Front handguards are bugged and can't be removed, swapped, or painted.

    -Both versions of V3S are bugged.  Engine has animations, but no sound or functionality.  Still a good source of storage.

    -Tires despawn quickly

    -RAIN!!

    -New fog and lighting are interesting and beautiful, only the new lighting makes things really dark and can make you go blind very quickly if you look at a rising/setting sun or a campfire at night.

    -3PP camera is amazing!  The shoulder shift is a great addition.

    -FOV is pretty intense when zoomed or unzoomed all the way.  Maybe a bit far on the zoom, but a good iteration nonetheless.

    -Persistence (NYESSSS)

    -Guard house is lootless

    -Deuce-and-a-half military trucks and HMMWVs are lootless.

    -Lot of loot spawns in different places, but lootsplosions are still common.  Noticably in deer stands, police cars, gun houses, and barracks.  Some people pointed out specific buildings earlier like the barracks at N military base and the APC at NE airfield, which I confirmed are overflowing with loot.

    -Weather seems REALLY hot.  Also overheating may be bugged.  Me and a buddy (him in raincoat and me in rider's jacket) ran around overheating for a few good hours with no ill effects.  No noticable increase in water consumption and no progression to hypothermic.

    -New level of wet, "Drenched"

    -Paper from nail boxes and ammo boxes

    -Nails image in inventory is shifted to the left

    -Still get an error from firing an Amphibia.  some recoil missing notice or something like that.

    -Xbow kills in 1 hit.  Some guy opened up on us after three of us introduced ourselves as friendly.  His fully kitted AK was no match for my single bolt that pierced his anti-stab vest and instantly killed him.  No pulse, body warm.  One more bolt to the face for good measure.

    -Zombies are often stuck in the world.  Seen one in Novo industrial section stuck in the roof-looking thing at the base of some foundations for the many pipes and such.  Another was stuck crawling under a park bench in front of the Svet church.

    -We heard a new zombie idle sound.  Buddy described it as a low, hoarse growl.  It freaked him out and he killed it before the rest of us could hear it.

    -Rags only with knives.  The beginner rag is now important!  I suggest making it into an armband since it wont break in the off-chance that your shirt gets ruined.

    -Flare gun holster nerfed (¿¿POR QUE??)

    -Batteries.  So many batteries.  You can call me king of the batteries.  If you don't find any n Southcentral 0-3, it's my fault.  I'm not sorry.  Batteries.

    -Some of the animations looked a little cleaner.  Noticeably the zombie attack animations, the pistol carrying animation with the magnum, and some of the other use items.

    -Some items block view in 1PP.  Burlap sack in the hand for instance will block your view with hand swing.  Friend said a purple polka-dot bandanna face mask blocked her view.  Different polka-dot bandanna didn't affect other player.

    -New crosshairs are... interesting.  Seem to differ slightly based on what you are using.

    -Pots and Frying pans are bugged.  Act like canteens it seems.  Drop on ground or put in hands to view inventory.

    -Attempted to view inventory of pan and lost my vicinity window.  It completely dissappeared

    -Nice framerate boost.  ~10 frames seems to be the average boost.

    -Some items spawn in floors or halfway in floors.  Noticable in police stations and most everywhere else

    -Pants-in-pants-in-pants is still there

    -Containers (medkit, ammo box, protector case, etc) still take up same amount as they hold

    -Water containers and ammo stacks don't immediately register changes in contents or count when changed.

    -Drop magazines when reloading if there isn't a pre-existing space before reloading, not counting the fresh magazine going into the weapon

    -Vision turns blurry after a gunshot wound and stays blurry long after it should go away.

    -Buddy had the login bug in fullscreen where he had a solid red (and green on another instance) screen.  Going to configure>Video fixes it just like the old blurry cure.

    -Spagettification (stretching) of sliding dead bodies.

    -Occasionally couldn't search inventory of a body that slid

    -Dropped items appear in odd places.  Often behind the player or in different rooms or outside when dropped in some buildings

    -Thrown weapons with minimum throw power or when thrown at another player can freeze in the air

    -Some animations that you can do while holding a weapon unequip or drop the weapon

    -Still get the bug where you can't equip anything when you use a ladder, swim, use a car, or a few other things when you are holding anything.  Relog fixes.  Also makes it so dropped items can't be picked up.

    -Still jerks in experimental.

    -Visual duping is rampant.  Not double-clicking on an item and either dragging it into your inventory or rightclick>take seem to mitigate the risk, but not entirely

    -Worn shirts sometimes appear in the worn model form floating in the ground when a player equips them.

    -Some ammo and food (to name a few) can't be picked up, but can be eaten, drank, or split

    -Sporter w/ Hunting Scope is still amazing.  Please boost.

    -Seem to get the same spawn repeatedly.  One player got it twice in a row, one player got it four times in a row.  May have to do with dying shortly after spawning.  Perhaps something to do with how the RNG functions?  Spawns seem somehow weighted towards Berezino.

    -Error from (I think) medical pants texture still.  Get it often when entering a town first time after logging in.

    -Still no barrels :/

    -Animals are in, but really rare it seems.  I didn't see any, but friend saw a couple cows down South.  Might have heard a chicken once.

    -Didn't mess with landmines or bear traps, but crafted a tripwire.  Can't break it down.  It becomes impossible to do anything other than view in your inventory.  If you drop the clothing/bag that it is in then you can remove it.  Can't put in hands, either.

    -Still can't fix vests, cowboy hats, armbands, raincoats, some shoes.

    -Random broken legs in police station

    -Had to raise fists/weapon to go up ladder in firestation

    -Crossbow makes no sound for anyone nearby.  Crossbows are the ultimate in stealth technology.  Bolt impacts on players/zombies make no noise either.

    -Often can't hear gunshots even when close.

    -Gas canisters in a fireplace still don't explode.  Boo.

    -Seems like most .57 bugs are still present.  No new items noticeable.

    -Couldn't wring out clothing, even after dropping.

    -Didn't find any car batteries or glow plus :/

    -When you drop a weapon from your hands it sometimes makes you do the reload animation (i.e. Blaze, MP133 pistol grip, ETC.)

    -Can't detatch batteries from MRDS sight (FNX optic)

    -Guns possibly spawn with attachments.  SKS found on top of lockers in barracks with damaged PU scope

    -Spawn counter can tick off from 70 seconds

    -Punching noise when swinging a pan and then throwing right away

    -Occasionally "stutter step" where player is doing the full walking or sprinting animation but is barely moving

    -Can now drag items from hands to vicinity

    -No Tactical shirts still

     

    I'll add to the list in quotes as I encounter more.  I know there was more that we noticed but most of my group is offline currently so it's just me and one guy compiling this list as of now.  We didn't go to heli crash sites or anything like that.  Did go to the far North convoy.  Empty.  One more thing is that this is all using the current UI, not the new one.  This is all from before the latest update, though.  Also, I don't know how to do a spoiler tag on this forum, so sorry :/

  4. I have the feeling that they are testing the new renderer since I haven't seen and light shining through walls, better performance with newui and no "missrendering". Can anybody confirm that? It's just a feeling that I have no proof of.

    They certainly did something to boost performance.  It might have to do with that world renderer or whatever it was that originialy delayed the experimental patch.  The new fog and everything is really cool and lighting is certainly different.


  5. Can't be, I'm not able to run -newui I have encountered many of the same things.

     

    I was able to make a balaclava into a rag without using a knife.  First thing you should do now anyway is dump the chemlite and find a rock to make a stone knife.  Berezino fire station was spawning some good stuff, including combat knives when I got in yesterday.  Seems to be the only fire station really worth a shit now, isn't that a little odd?

     

    Established camps in the NE and in the NW, pretty well stocked at both sites.  Now going to try and set one up in the south/central portion of the map, that is the tricky one, too much people traffic..  I don't much like people.  Should be the most fun though since I am sort of bored at this point.  I haven't seen any people at all, only zeds here and there.  I have seen signs of people though, rifles laying oddly or melee weapons out of place (standing up), loaded pistols, etc...

    Exclusively without the new UI.  There are some vulnerabilities with the new UI that I am avoiding so all of this is on the legacy AI.  I will make sure to clarify this in the next update.  I already have four new bugs to add to the list.

  7. I could've sworn I heard thunder, I hope they add lightning flashes  B)

     

    This was in the game before, but without weather it took a hiatus.  Weather has different levels of intensity and I think thunder is the highest.  Not 100% sure, but I think there used to be lightning flashes.

     

     

    Yep I've found only one, worn, in the taller hunting stands, on the Southwest side of Stary Yar.

     

    We found a couple in a feed shack.  All previous feed shacks were empty but this one had two hunting scopes, xbow holosight, RDS for NATO weapons, and other useful items.

    take an sneaky look at an costal town, seing 5 naked hooligans running around like roadrunner and try fisting each others face...

     

    try to get off the coast, after 500 meters...BAMM "your were kicked of the game, admin kick"...OKEY

     

    next server....press connect...."you are spawning in blahblah seconds"...please wait....take the next 500 meters and, you know...ADMIN KICK 

     

    time to shutdown dayz and go sitting in the sun until an new experimental update arrives.

    I'm surprised that the stable folks (those who did not play 0.57 Exp) haven't yet noticed that the capacity of the taloon pack has been nerfed.

     

    To cut to the chase, these seem to be intentional changes which, presumably (with the exclusion of the pack), partially address the abuse of multiple items being nested inside of each other.

     

    EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if similar changes occur with vests and the plate carrier pouches.

    Magazine pouches take up 10 slots and hold 10...

  11. Anyone else have their client freeze when they try joining a foreign server?  I've validated files three times and uninstalled/reinstalled twice, I also changed my anti-spyware protection program.  t didn't do this before .55.  I have a report open and a thread in the support forum, but I haven't had any responses for a few days now...


  12. Ahh. Well that is the thing about fixing stuff, ya break stuff fixing stuff sometimes. I remember a firefight with some well geared guy that opened fire on me from behind and missed cause I had just made a turn (sheer luck) he had a protective case inside a protective case inside and it went on and on like 9 deep lol. It was real easy to loot from the bottom, cause I could just put 4 things next to each other into it and then put it in that spot. I could only take 8 of them at the time and cried leaving one behind. Lately people have been saying that they put a rifle into their inventory and it vanished, but they found it later in a flare gun. hehehe. Looks like storage is a mess on whatever update this is.

    I've seen the flare gun glitch, too.  Had a bow that I was rockin' for a while and dropped it up at black castle to pick up a flanged mace.  Saw a flre gun on the ground with my bow chambered into it.  flare gun shooting a bow shooting an arrow?  Dibs.

  13. So just trying to see if anyone has the same issue and, if so, how you fixed it.

    Every time I join a server that isn't US-centered my client freezes at the server select screen.  It happens every time, too.  It really limits my options and sucks when I can't join a server that my friends are in.  I have to ctrl+alt+delete and force close the game in order to do anything.  I'm running stable 0.55 and have way over minimum game specs.


  14. Never done any testing but I'm fairly certain the jogging/sprinting works out about where the oldish WOBO video said it should. There was no mention or testing of walking but I rather unscientifically a few patches ago walked the entire west then north side of the map on something like 8 zucchinis an 2 pet bottles without dropping below dark green anything. It took the better part of 6-8 hours.

     

    I did some walking the other day on EXP though and found even well dressed you get cold fairly quickly, didn't have that on stable last time I did any extended walks.  

    One thing WOBO didn't test was hands up or down.  It is proven that, if your hands are empty, when you raise your hands you sprint faster.

You still can blow up the gas pumps, at least last I checked you could.  I know different patches have added and removed the ability, but I think the removal was always a bug.  during one of hte live streams they blew up two friendlies by absentmindedly shooting the pump once, haha.  I think three .308 rounds on the same pump will spark the whole thing.


  16. It would be a good way to expand upon diseases, like gannon46 said.  Would actually make stuff like the medical mask and gas mask more practical and allow their hidden protection value to work for something!

Died of starvation twice, now I have a decent character.  Somebody set up two tents in the middle of the street that I secured and made a base with.  I also found a truck that I have been keeping safe.  Currently doing all I can to survive.  Been killing cows and eating their meat, mixed with some apples and trips to a well.  Made myself a bow to defend myself with and carry a fresh ashwood stick for up close.  I did have one of the new brown hunting jackets, but that vanished when I tried putting a red rain coat inside of it.

    I did find some canned food, though.  One can had already been opened, signs of someone else dropping it.  Also found a bag of rice, conveniently enough.  Most buildings are bare except for one maybe two junk pieces of gear or clothing.  Every once in a while I'll find a house or a few that haven't been looted or have decent loot spawns.  I did find two pots and a pan to use with my stone oven while I roast an apple on my stick.  First gun I found was an Amphibia in a house.  Was kinda hoping that spears would be implemented this patch...  Looking forward to packing up my tent and heading inland once I get a larger bag and more inventory...

    Still looking for an ever-so-elusive leather sewing kit to make some decent clothing and a water pouch from the half dozen hides I have.  Tried using a couple rabbit snares, but a reset claimed one and the other sat for 40 minutes without a catch.

    Also looks like some gear is spawning in weird ways in some spots.  Found three weapon flashlights and an assortment of AK parts on the steps of one house.  Also found four raincoats gathered around a shed.  On the topic of raincoats, how do you make armbands now?  I couldn't cut up the raincoat anymore...


  18. You risk damaging your fuel tank and getting a leak that way, but I do it too, just hate when I get that fuel tank damage.

     

    I have seen this with wild life too, you can run a zed near a pig, cow or deer or chicken and it will switch to that.  They aren't all that smart.  If you have a group chasing you near a dock cut a corner really close and some will fall off the dock into the water.

    Wait wait wait wait.... wait...... WAIT!  You can get a fuel leak? D:  This explains everything!  I went from half a tank to empty in five minutes and had no clue how x.x


  19. Once the zeds aggro your truck, they will stay aggroed to it.  You can use your truck as a zombie magnet since they can't do a whole lot of damage to it.  As was stated before, the tires will be repaired at server reset.  Your gas tank will be reset to full as well ;)  If you ever pop just one tire, go ahead and pop the other one so that you will get a smooth ride that doesn't pull to the side...

    Zombies can change targets.  I tested it with a buddy actually.  They will change from focussing on a player to another player or they will change from a player to a truck.  If they change to a truck, they will stay focused on the truck.  Those seem to have their priority.  It's pretty easy to do a lap around a town to gather most of the zombies, then just drive forward and back till you splatter all of them and make the own safer ;)

  21. I've found one box of matches so they do spawn, found them in an outhouse (which is where you'll find everything this patch).  

    I've found a few portable gas stoves but no gas canisters, which was an alternative way to cook without matches, simply attach gas to stove and "turn on/turn off".

    Haven't seen a pot or a pan either...

    See, I saw a gas cannister and no stove :/  Buddy had a stack of ~70 worn matches that he found.

     

    Funny story bout that...  We were exiting a town and he was having some bad lag from the city.  As a result, his truck was rubberbanding a little.  To be safe, I stayed about 200 yards behind him.  He had a bad patch of lag where his truck teleported inside of my truck, the two vehicles fought for the same space, and I lost.  My truck blew up from the massive damage and I got the little white words we all fear.  He, however, saw no such thing on his screen.  I spawned on the coast and he came to pick me up.  Due to his lag, he insisted that I drive.  We got maybe a klick along and he desynced.  He joined back in and the first thing he said was "I see my body."  Turns out, his desyncing while in the truck led to his body getting "run over" (his pants and everything were ruined just like if he had been hi by a truck).  It also resulted in all of his gear getting duped, much to my benefit ;)  I got fully geared with an AUG, sword, and full inventory of survival gear within an hour ;)
