    Hai! Can you please give a brief report on server-side loot? Pros? Cons? Better than normal-spawning? When and why should it be used? etc. Would be awesome for a change. OT: Great job on the patch, and thanks for the amazing and continuous work. 1.8.3 hype (rolling changelog) coming soon? LoL.

    Error in both download links. Redirect it to the 1.8.2 folder not the 1.8.2 Dev folder. (Assuming the Dev folder one is locked)

    I said the exact same thing before but here it goes: A group of vanilla server rent a basic server with Unlimited Bandwidth and 1Gbps upload link (Both available at Vilayer) and host a MySQL DB server on it. Assign an instance number for each server (No need to change hosts) and change the DB options from the HiveEXT.ini and voila. All characters are available across servers, storage/vehicles are bound to each server instance. With the public hive dead, the team might help with some specfic features like a cooldown on grouped server, Day/Night cycle, anything. You get full access, have the ability to do full backups, database cleanup events, etc. It needs some practice on how to set it up, and some intensive testing to make sure everything works perfectly like vehicle spawns and what not but the payoff is worth it. All this really require good admins with good understanding and cooperation with rules set from the start ie only Vanilla, Unified settings, no modding except like bug fixes or w/e. Setup admin meetings to talk about for example new server applicants, share ban lists, etc. A decent CPU and RAM plus the 1Gbps link is not more than 75$ like overpricing so money shouldn't be a problem. If the thing is organized and a couple of the last standing public hives get together and take the initiative, I see more full vanilla private hives wanting to become a part of this.

    I still do not get why the current group of public hive servers along side with the group of private hive vanilla servers just rent a server with 1Gbps upload and unlimited bandwidth running only MySQL and be connected to the same database. Will serve the exact same purpose as the public hive, no downtime, more control, better maintenance and the ability to include new vanilla servers. Heck, even the team might help you guys with it, do a fancy joining cooldown on it or something.

    The name 'DayZ' is now owned by BIS, there is no point of doing that. I would rather be on there good side and wait rather being on their bad side and them pulling the plug on the mod. OT: Fishing is too easy? The random chance is just too high; random number between 0 and 100 then if that is higher than 5 it gives a trout? Come on. I already increased the random var and decreased the range, just letting you know. There is no way you can catch more than 40 trouts in less than half an hour. Keep up your work and have a nice day.

    http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/198513-arma2-oa-beta-patch-system-update-admins-clients-please-read/ I had to follow this (server part) since I can't be bothered figuring out how to use SteamCMD, it gave me no problems. The command line needs to be changed from pointing inside the beta_oa folder server.exe towards the main ArmA2OA folder server.exe . Didn't change anything else =S. The only problem I encountered (and during server install too) was the one explained in the post above yours.

    Just migrated my main server to 125402, no problems whatsoever. There is one small problem that happened with some people while updating to the latest patch, it deleted their AddOns folder from ArmA2OA giving an error for not finding Chernarus (ArmA2 content) so they had to re-copy it from ArmA2 folder.

    Updated my test server (1.8.1) to the latest beta, works like a charm and even appears in Steam Browser so don't know what you are talking about. It will however cause all existing characters on any kind of hive -private or public- to be useless as mentioned above. GameSpy should hurry the hell up and die already so people can move from Commander to Steam uniting the masses again.

    Since thevisad discontinued Reality last update, most private hives are going to be delayed for a bit till people figure out the list of stuff that need reworking in the server>db calls. Most notebly the blood group, tents and stashes as well as achievements.

    Damn, time to locate all changes and their effect in the server PBO, DB layout and calls to properly have a Reality server up and running. :blink: Great job R4ZOR and the rest of the guys. Time to get those "WHEN IS 1.8.2 COMING OUT?!!!" comments. :D
