    Some DayZ Facts About You...

I knew I was forgetting something in my first post. This. I have never, not once in nearly 10 months and 600+ hours of playing, come across a hacker in any form. I can't even begin to relate to the people on this forum who whine about it being a widespread problem, particularly because I play on a wide number and variety of servers as well.

Lead Producer of DayZ says, "1PP is better"

The OP, with his troll of a title.

Add 7.62 x 39mm Rounds to Residential Areas

I agree with this idea wholeheartedly, and I've always thought it was odd that you didn't find it in residential areas to begin with.

    Advanced Wet Food

Perhaps. I tend to carry a lot of rice and powdered milk which have a similar effect (lots of energy but with a loss of hydration), so I don't see why not.

Is there a better map than dayzdb?

It's not the map itself I don't like about iZurvive, it's nit-picky things like the text. Very OCD of me, and not really a valid complaint :p DayZDB should be current as of 0.50 however, judging by what I can see in the way of map changes. In terms of loot, I don't ever look at a map anyway... I rely on memory. Really all I use maps for is plotting travel. Relying on maps for loot seems like an exercise in frustration to me given how frequently and drastically things can change in that regard.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be included in a DayZ story book :p

    Some DayZ Facts About You...

    1. I have been everywhere. I would be very surprised if someone could think up a location that I haven't been to. 2. I have probably contributed more screenshots to the wiki than any other one person.

Is there a better map than dayzdb?

I prefer DayZDB because it looks less cartoony in my opinion. The amount of clutter is totally user-controllable too, by the way -- the only markers I keep on the map are town names, water pumps, supermarkets, police stations, and medical centers/hospitals. I will concede that iZurvive is functionally superior in its ability to connect players, but I think the DayZDB map is easier on the eyes. I do wish it were updated more frequently, though.

    Advanced Wet Food

Question: would you lose water? Caffeine is a diuretic, and ultimately may make you lose more water than what you consume in the form of coffee or energy drinks. Or perhaps it could be "hydration neutral" and not give or take away anything.

    Another food item (bread)

It might not be as tasty or photo-worthy as what's in your signature/avatar :p

    Advanced Wet Food

Definitely. We will see more of that balancing occur once the game goes into the beta stage I imagine. What you're speaking of with pristine-only items is a "problem" with the current 0.50 Stable build and won't be that way forever. Not sure how or why it happened this time around, actually. Yes! This is what I'm talking about. There are some things in the game (and things I'd like added) that serve no real purpose other than to make the experience more enjoyable.

    Advanced Wet Food

Well, all fair points. The issue of inventory space, to me, should be up to the player to decide. I fully agree that in terms of space-used-versus-benefit-provided, the more complicated food items aren't "worth it". But for me personally, they would add a level of immersion and gameplay satisfaction that can't really be quantified as such. Do you know what I mean? For some people it may even be a benefit to roleplaying, and more people seem to be taking that aspect to heart recently in my experience. The benefits are far less tangible, but they are benefits. I definitely feel scavenging should be given some serious consideration. There was a thread clear back in March that gave me some inspiration: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181617-unknown-natural-ingame-ressources/

Death in Dayz, how do you meet it?

I don't die very often, but when I do, it's about a 3-to-1 ratio of other players versus the environment. I haven't died from zombies in a really, really long time, and if the environment gets me it's usually a bug or glitch of some sort (i.e. falling through the floor). MOST of the time, it's other players... usually involving me being too trusting. Either way, I only die maybe once or twice a month total between Stable and Experimental, and its usually my Experimental character since I tend to be a little more careless with them being that they get wiped weekly.

    Another food item (bread)

Yeast is very specific in its use, but flour and sugar are not. They have many, many cooking uses, and if more advanced cooking is to be added to the game, you would definitely find better and more creative uses for them than just plain ol' bread. As I suggested above, unleavened bread would be one way of including that food item in some form without the need for a dedicated-use item like yeast.

    Another food item (bread)

As I just suggested in another thread, unleavened bread would be slightly more "realistic" and require one less item to be present in the game. It's far easier to make in a survival situation, I would think. Actually baking it would probably be the hardest part though, since we don't yet have ovens or baking pans.

    Advanced Wet Food

This is a topic that gets brought up every once in a while, and it's really fun to discuss the possibilities. I have faith that this "feature" will work its way into the game eventually, hopefully sooner than later. A few items that I think still need to be added for a full range of cooking: -Eggs -Other vegetables (mushrooms, corn, carrots, onion, celery, etc.) -Flour -Salt, sugar -Coffee -Crackers -Chocolate Just a sample list, since I could go on for days about random leftover food items you could find in a kitchen. But, with even just a few of those simple items, you could make: -Butter (milk, salt, and your time spent churning) -Orange Juice -Cooked Rice -Unleavened bread -Beer-battered fish (fish fillet, flour, milk, Rasputin Kvass) -Chicken vegetable soup -Goulash -Meat pie -Stuffed peppers (suggested by Weyland http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/181517-recipe-steamed-stuffed-peppers/) The possibilities are endless, restricted only by the "beginning/basic" items the developers choose to put in the game and how far they want to go with horticulture and scavenging.

Lets post some screen shots (Standalone)

That last picture is AWESOME! :)

I visited a trader zone in the standalone!

Private shards help address this issue, but obviously that's still not a guarantee of your safety. Private shards are also much more work in terms of gaining access and actually accomplishing something, obviously. Props to those who are able to do this in a controlled manner on a public server.

    Chernogorsk vs Novodmitrovsk

Thank you! :) To be fair, it's very hard to keep it current... the factors that determine where players congregate are constantly in flux, and until the game settles into some kind of "norm" again like we had a few months ago, it may not even be worth our time to make it 100% current. As long as the rest of the information contained therein is pretty accurate, that's what matters to me right now personally. There's also the fact that anyone can edit it, so despite my best efforts at keeping most pages factual, there will inevitably be people inclined to throw their 2 cents in and provide information that isn't necessarily relevant or useful. NOW... could both of you kindly stop arguing? :)

    Weekend Travels 11/15 & 11/16

Over the course of taking screenshots for a countless number of wiki pages today, a few stood out to me and I figured I would share them. See if you can figure out where each one was taken :) (no cheating!)
