Looking for, in order of importance: 1. Sword 2. Teddy Bear (need beige and grey) 3. Zluta Malinovka Soda (empty can) 4. Flare (canister for gun) I don't actually need to *keep* any of these things. I need to take a couple screenshots of each and then I can give them back to you if need be. That said, I would like to keep the sword :) Let me know what I can do to help you out and I'll come to you. Thank you! I wouldn't quite call it "max settings", but generally I turn up about everything that can be adjusted with the exception of clouds and shadows (shadows are usually on "Low"). I play on a Macbook that's three years old, so most settings are at a mid-level for play and then they get turned up for screenshots. The six things I turn up for screenshots are Objects, Terrain, Texture Detail & Filtering, Alpha to Coverage, and Edge Smoothing. They have the most effect on image quality in my experience, particularly the last two. Alpha to Coverage gives a "fuller" feeling to all of the plants and scenery; Edge Smoothing does exactly as its name implies and takes the rough edges off of most objects. I'm a day or two late, but I wanted to share an album of my best screenshots from 2014. I didn't begin playing the Standalone until late January, so this is about 11 months worth of time. I feel as though I have been everywhere and seen everything in Chernarus for now, and I can't wait to see what 2015 brings. For now, enjoy a year of my travels in pictures. I've been unable to find a sword, a flare (gun canister), and crushed cans as well. I think I've seen just about everything else though. It does seem to be that some items are just not spawning in large numbers... or they are spawning in very particular places that I'm not looking. Oh well, it's not like a sword is something I NEED on this game :p

I never understood how people were getting stuck in the first place. Yes, it is true that some of the ladders don't go the whole way to the floor, but you're still able to look at them and get a prompt to climb up. It was a little finicky when I did it, but I went the whole way to the bottom of each of the pits and was never unable to get out. The really big one that's like four stories deep really has to be seen too, it's quite interesting getting a view from the bottom. One thing I will say: even though I never got stuck, it is possible to hurt yourself really badly or even get killed if you're not careful. There are a lot of skinny ledges, and some of the ladders drop you a few feet through the air when you get to the bottom of them.

Lots more content in DayZ, improvements to old areas of Chernarus, lots more social events, etc. When I get my tax return at the end of January I also plan on building a gaming desktop with a 1440p monitor so I'll be delivering 2K resolution goodness very soon. :) I also spent the majority of my playtime in 2014 documenting things for the wiki, and now that I can focus more on the new things coming out and my experiences with other people, you'll see a big jump in the diversity of my shots -- hopefully for the better. In terms of DayZ, I don't see this list even being a tiny bit useful let alone worrisome. It would be way more useful for a game where your displayed name is your Steam name, and even then people can pretty much change their Steam name on a whim. I have friends that regularly change their displayed name, much to my annoyance :p

I had been exploring the northwest in an effort to spend more time looking at the new towns there when I made the decision to head north to Grozovy Pass. Along the way, I was surprised to find that some half-finished development of the future town of Tisy was already included in 0.52 Stable. Somehow I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I figured it was worth posting about. There isn't a full town in place, but they've put in a lot of new plants, a few houses, etc. There is even loot there :)

Well, factual accuracy aside, the elitists with expensive gaming rigs love to talk trash on everyone else using inferior hardware because they somehow feel better about themselves and the money they've spent by doing so. The fact of the matter is that the game is incredibly unoptimized at this point and even good (read: expensive) hardware will not run it particularly well. I play on a Macbook just fine and take gorgeous screenshots, but I get told all the time that I shouldn't even be capable of playing on it. Go figure.

I hate to break it to you, but this is very, very old. http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Witch_Ring The map is incredibly well-known at this point. Other than new things being added, you're not likely to discover anything that hasn't been seen a million times before.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If it's taking them as long as they claim to meet up with friends, then there have to be people in the group who have absolutely no ability to navigate whatsoever. Yes, BUT, we get to a point where additional testing doesn't necessarily yield better results, and your motivators sound more personal than noble.
