They don't look as out of place when you see them fully, I promise. There are civilian barracks on the other side of the island as well. I had to kill two people in the process of exploring the prison, and a third ran off. I met a fourth person right at the edge of the water when I was about to kill myself to hop over to Skalisty quicker; I gave him all my gear and asked him to kill me instead :p There is SO MUCH STUFF at the prison in terms of loot variety. It's well worth the swim, and it's going to cause some interesting shifts in where people loot, the paths they travel, etc. This is going to be especially interesting because of where it is (southwest).

Next, we have the complete overhaul of Skalisty Island. This includes a castle rival that of Devil's Castle, a complete rearranging of the houses on the island, and even plenty of terrain and vegetation changes to boot. There is also now a road that runs between most places of interest on the island.

Seems a little early to be talking about 0.54 when we don't even know what all is in 0.53 yet. Don't tell me we do either, because nobody has played with the majority of what will eventually hit Stable.

0.52 was a lot of stuff, and 0.53 is shaping up to be equally huge. Worth waiting a little longer between updates methinks.

Haha. I imagine that in the process of internally testing out these map changes for 0.53 they probably had to do a good bit of swimming. I'm happy to know that it isn't intentional. Perhaps, with the right heating, there is yet a chance I might make a return voyage to Debug Island someday :)

That's actually become less of an issue. With my frequent back-and-forth to Skalisty, I've noticed (at least as of 0.52, maybe not 0.53) that once those two items fall off you are able to put them back on and keep swimming as you were. I've never seen them fall off a second time, either. Not sure if this is intentional behavior or not, but that's how it currently is. I actually lost a Longhorn that I had stashed in my jacket as well, even though the jacket stayed on -- so it's not just weapons on your back necessarily.

As they should :p I'm really hoping this means that Skalisty will have animals of some sort now (even if it's just rabbits able to be trapped). The island is missing a lot of things that we take for granted elsewhere on the map: no ponds, no animals, no Ashwood trees, no Canina bushes (red berries), no apple trees, etc. This limits what you're able to do there significantly (without outside resources, obviously). The little village there could stand some sprucing up as well.

Right. I had that same thought initially as well. Seems unlikely that they would push it to Stable if their internal testing caught anything, and honestly I didn't see any major problems in the time I played it on Experimental. Seems okay to me. Likely there will be additional "stuff" that we didn't see in Experimental, too. Hmm? Are you referring to the Stable branch wipe?

Fixed it for you :) EDIT: Never mind, it fixed itself. Anyway, what he said ^. The productionprep depot was updated earlier today as well which usually suggests an update to the Stable branch.

This. They are pretty good about intervening where necessary, but only if it is reported. If they made it easier to report, I think they would get more reports.

Your face is annoying and this entire thread isn't valuable to anyone because it's already been stated many, many times that Stable branch wipes will be announced well in advance. Had he bothered to look for the information rather than lazily starting a whiny thread and expecting it to be handed to him, people like myself wouldn't have the opportunity reply in the first place. Really, I would even be happy to answer his questions if he hadn't been such a crybaby about his original post -- "Woe is me, my time is so valuable I couldn't possibly be bothered to spend an hour getting fully geared again."

I've got some news for you: it's always going to be in vain until the game is officially released, which is likely a year or more from now. Perhaps you ought to give up the game for good though if losing your stuff is a concern for you, seeing as it's going to happen even after the game releases since it's inevitable that you'll die at some point.

Although it's a really fuzzy memory because it was almost a year ago, I do believe it was an SKS. Generally speaking, it's always been my go-to weapon due to it and its ammo being relatively easy to find combined with "okay" accuracy and a 10-round internal magazine. -

I was just hoping they'd "accidentally" allowed for rabbits to be trapped there. For now, it's impossible to remain on the island and maintain an omnivorous diet without including Sardines. That is, of course, with the exception of cans of tactical bacon that could randomly spawn in the houses there.
